I came for the cookery. So singleminded in my purpose that I was willing to overlook the musician in my cookery. I will be retreating back to my no musicians or rockstars bunker now. Taste on my Tongue is suuuuuuuuuuper sweet. Landon and Quentin are sweet. There's virtually no conflict in their sweet relationship. Everything goes swimmingly for them resulting in a perfectly perfect HEA. If this is the sort of thing you look for in your romance reads stop reading here. This book is for you. If yo ...more

My review seems to have vanished so adding it again as much as I can remember.

Loved this one, humour, sarcasm, frenemies, cooking, hot men, all adds up into a winning narrative.

These days, I deliberately didn't re-read blurb for ARC books that I requested because I wanted to savor the book with blank slate and to prepare myself for the joy of being surprised with where the story might take me. However, I can't help to have expectation at the beginning, or at least during the MC's initial meet.

When on the first chapter of Taste on my Tongue introduced a former 3rd place winner of The Voice Landon Patton with Quentin Maxwell, the pastry chef who would be his pa

“Taste on my Tongue” by Beth Bolden is a fun and sweet romance with a reality show setting which I enjoyed a lot. I am not much into reality TV but I love music and food and this book combines these specific two elements to create a very sweet and engaging romance, which was delightful.

Landon Patton was a former contestant of ‘The Voice’ but since then he had his downfalls after his coming out, as his record label dumps him and his ex-boyfriend leaves him. He needs to restore his stat

Oh wow. This was an awesome read. When I started reading I thought it would be good but not totally surprising. Boy was I wrong. At first I was hoping we would get Quentin's point of view but it really works seeing it from Landon's perspective. These guys sneak into your heart. Then you add the other characters and how Landon feels about what is happening with them. I was given the privilege and opportunity to receive an advanced reader copy and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. This wa ...more

The funk is official when even a supposed fluff read couldn't bring me out of it.

This book is stickily sweet, like syrup on ice cream with the plot that's probably as thick as the syrups layers. It have an interesting concept with the Kitchen War, but that fail to capture my attention when I fell out of love with the couple (or should I rather said, Landon.) There were elements and decisions that just felt inconsistent and simply didn't work for me. *shrug*

This is the first book I've read by Beth. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book and will definitely recommend it. It is different and funny. Landon won third place on the Voice, thought he was on the rise until his boyfriend begged him to come out to the world. His agent said it was suicide but he was in love. Needless to say, it didn't work well. Dumped by both his boyfriend and agent, his new agent talks him into being a contestant on Kitchen Wars. Here he meets Quentin who ...more

I received an arc of this book for an honest review.

If anyone knows me knows I love my cooking shows and celebrity drama. This book brought both my loved together with one of my fave romance types to read M/M romance. Beth did such. Great job with these characters and their development was wonderful!!! Can't wait to read more by her!

A refreshing change from the normal romances I read. Very much enjoyed the reality tv portion of the story. At times, feeling like I was actually watching the competition. The description of the food was so realistic, I found myself drooling on my kindle and trying to figure out if it was a dish I could make or not. Also enjoyed seeing Kimber brought in as a character.

This was a very sweet love story. If you're a fan of shows like Cutthroat Kitchen and Chopped etc, I think you'll enjoy the plot. Quentin and Landon are assigned as partners on a cooking show that pairs celebrities and chefs. They fall hard and they fall fast. As in instantly. That was my biggest issue, along with the schoompiness. It was almost saccharine. Which isn't always an issue but I don't think I w

Landon (a former contestant on "The Voice") goes on a reality TV cooking show called Kitchen Wars. He gets paired up with Quentin (a baker who dreams of owning his own bakery). Quentin can't believe his luck as he is a massive fan of Landon's, since his time on "The Voice"! As they get to know each other the flirting starts and its not only the kitchen that gets hot! After a third place finish on The Voice and a couple of successful albums, with the encouragement from his then boyfriend and against the advice from his management, Landon comes out to the world. But coming out puts his music career in a bit of a slump, then the boyfriend he came out for dumps him along with his record company. Finding love in a reality show!

Reality TV! It has been the trend for a while now!

Landon won third place in The Voice, but due to his decision to “out” himself at the pinnacle of his win and record album, he has been lack-lustered for a while now, thus a new reality show! How hard can it be right? After all, he is a veteran!

Quentin joins the show in order to win the money to put up his own bakery. He is gorgeous and kind, as Landon tells him. As partners, Quentin tries to guide and teach Landon

Well, things finally got moving. I do wish we could have seen more of Dream Team though. :-)

But I'll tell you, there's a reason I won't watch reality shows similar to the one in the book. I just can't deal with the stress. :-P

I got this ebook because of the cover. Yes, I am that shallow. The model makes an adorable Quentin. The Landon, though, doesn't fit my mental image, but that's hindered because of how odd this book is in a few places.

The basics, this is a low heat MM love story where a pastry chef and B-list musician join forces on a cooking reality show and fall in love. If that floats your boat, you'll probably like this. No harm, no foul. But there were ways that the story was told that made it so I didn't en

I was very excited about the premise of this book. I love watching cooking challenges and reading M/M romance, so this seemed right up my alley. Unfortunately, I thought it was way too sweet and sappy. Landon and Quentin are paired up for Kitchen Wars and immediately fall in love with each other. Everything between them seems so perfect and cute. Even when they fight or there is some kind of doubt, it is fixed quickly and perfectly

Synopsis:
Landon placed third on a singing talent show, and then had a semi-successful debut album. Before his second album came out, though, he did, and his career stalled out. His new manager has signed him up for a reality cooking show called "Kitchen Wars", where he will be paired up with a professional chef. I loved this book from the very first chapter and couldn't put it down. Taste on my Tongue tells the story of Quentin, a baker who dreams of opening his own bakery and Landon, an semi-washed up star that didn't even get to reach the levels of stardom he had aspired to be at. The two are paired up for a cooking competition and right from the get-go sparks fly between the two.

I think that the way that Bolden ma

Landon and Quentin are a sweet couple in the making and I got to know them through the Kitchen Gods series before I read this story. What I was expecting wasn't exactly what we got, but what was presented was mostly sweet with a bit of secrets that had the potential to complicate things.

Landon's POV is the only one we get and I can't say I was in love with that. Even with a shorter story, as this one is, we really needed something to balance Landon's more high-strung personality. He dominated ev

Honestly, I’m a fan of the food and cooking reality shows, so this story was the perfect combination for me: Food and mm romance. Sounds pretty good for me and after finishing the book, I’m not disappointed at all.

Against all advice, musician Landon and third place in the reality show The Voice, came out of the closet for a boyfriend who then leaves him, followed by his record label and his agent. With his popularity diminishing day by day, his new agent pushes him to enter to a new rea

Sweet read with two very different characters that connect through cooking.

Landon is trying to have a comeback after his debut in The Voice and the best to do that is to be part of a reality show with some known stars called Kitchen Wars. His partner there, is Quentin, a cute and easy-going baker who wants to win the big prize so he can open his own bakery one day. He's a great teacher with a lot of patience as Landon doesn't even know how to boil an egg. It does help he's also his fa

I don't really like books written in present tense...I find it annoying and it bugs me enough I usually stop reading. But since I had promised to read this, I continued and I'm glad I did. Blend sexiness and fun, simmer until irresistible

I'd like to know when to expect this diabolical cooking competition to air - it's entertaining and evil enough to be intriguing.

The lead characters are decent, with Landon better developed than Quentin. For as well as they read each other, there seems to be more jumping to conclusions and angst than necessary.

Overall a good read, I would look for more from this author. An example:

Landon is a rock star whose career is on the rocks after an ill timed public revelation of his sexuality leaves him high and dry.
Not to mention that the guy who pushed him to out himself is long gone, not able to deal with the pressures of dating a celebrity.
All of which culminate in leaving Landon with a slew of insecurities.
So when his manager proposes a reality cooking show, he's naturally skeptical.
Once he meets his partner, Quentin the baker, he's much more amenable to give the whole ridicu

Love at First Sight or is it Bite?

I seem to have read a fair number of Beth Bolden’s books in the past few months. Many of them had cooking as the theme, so I looked up her bio expecting to see she was a previously a chef. But no!

Taste on My Tongue is another book with food as the theme. Singer, Landon is entered into a TV show where celebrities are paired with a chef to end up being the last pair standing in a knockout competition. He is paired with Quentin, a fan of Landon’s music before he ha
