She'd never had hate sex before, but she'd never really hated anyone on sight either. She couldn't explain how their alchemy worked if someone asked, but she didn't care. All she knew was that she had to have him.
Carla's in Cuba to lick her wounds. After molding herself to become the perfect Stepford wife, her boring, blue collar, khaki wearing fiance has dumped her and she feels lost. Having spent her life completely wrapped up in appearances, she doesn't know what to d ...more

I liked this and it's hot, but the argument at the end made me roll my eyes a bit. Definitely my favorite of the series so far.

4.5 stars. This was by far my favorite of the 3 books in the series. I love a pouty man bear hero, and that's exactly what I got in Jonah.
Carla Hernandez has escaped from her life in Miami, and her high profile break-up with her fiance, to visit her Great Aunt Lola in Cuba. She needed time to lick her wounds and decompress in peace. She also has ideas of sprucing up Lola's old grand home, so that when she rents to boarders, she can charge more money. She has no idea she'll meet and take an insta ...more

E-ARC is received thanks to the publisher via Netgalley.
Also on Romances Ever After.
Well, this book is a let-down. I requested the ARC because it had a surprise-baby plot, and I had a vision of how the story was supposed to go, and I was ready for all the angst…and then I got a different story, LOL. The surprise baby felt more of an afterthought to me (it started at 70%) I even wondered why it was even included.
Now, the different plot would have been fine but unfortunately, I couldn’t ...more

I am glad I stuck it out to the end because the 2nd half of the book is a lot more fun/interesting than the 1st. The setting is in beautiful, mysterious Cuba but instead Carla and Jonah spend it inside the house, walking through broken glass during a hurricane. Really? These two have great chemistry once they end up state-side at Carly's sister's wedding. Carla's family is hilarious. And once Jonah reveals what a kind decent and loving guy he is, everything seems to work out with a couple of sur

Break of Day is a smoking hot accidental pregnancy story. Jonah is a big bear of a guy with a gentle heart and issues from the past that have made it hard for him to love. Carla is a petite firecracker who feels like she can never do well enough in her family of high achievers. They meet when Carla is trying to get over her broken engagement. Jonah was just supposed to be the rebound guy. He turned out to be so much more. If you like you romance spicy with a bit of humor you will love this story

Super-steamy goodness set in Havana and Miami. One wonderful, laugh-out-loud scene involving the heroine's father. Lots of tasty consent. Well-done!

After reading Break of Day, I saw that this was the third part of a series. Since I didn't realize the fact that it was part of a series, means you can really read this book as a standalone. The book starts with Carla, who arrives at the doorstep of her aunt in Mexico. But instead of her aunt, some big and hot guy opens the door. And quite rude tries to get rid of her. However, the short tempered and sassy Carla is not about to let some stranger (no matter how hot he is) prevent her from enterin

Break of Day is the third book in the exciting One Night in South Beach series by Andie J. Christopher. A highly entertaining, sexy, unexpected romance that you won't want to miss! With a great storyline, complex characters, steamy intimate scenes, angst, twists and turns, this emotional roller-coaster of a story will pull you in from beginning to end. This was a great story, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

After being dumped by her fiance, a stodgy accountant who accused her of not being "not exciting,” Carla Hernandez needed to get away. Her great aunt’s house in Havana, Cuba was the obvious destination. Once there, Carla would be able to sort herself out and help out Tia Lola, a woman who’s always understood Carla even when the rest of her family didn’t.

Break of Day is a steamy hot romance with a decidedly Caribbean flair. Miami socialite Carla's family send her to Havana to visit her great aunt Lola and mend her broken heart. She is greeted, at the door by her aunt's boarder, the hot but surly Jonah. The chemistry between them is as hot as Cuba in hurricane season and just as unsettled. Even with their attraction to each other, they likely have never been more than housemates had fate not stepped in by throwing a real hurricane at the island,

If you want a book with a lot of sex scenes then Break of Day by Andie Christopher, part of her One Night in South Beach series, could be your book. Carla is sent to Cuba for a visit with her great aunt Lola, hoping it will help her with getting over her broken engagement. Lola is a character; over seventy, renting out her home, taking care of others and quite sexually active. Currently Jonah is staying at Lola’s casa and misreads Carla from the moment he meets her at the door. These two are lik

This book made me cry and laugh,Carla & Jonah are like oil and water and their introduction on the doorstep of her aunt's home in Cuba does not go well at all. Carla is a tiny woman who has been dumped by her fiancee and feels she is always a disappointment to her family,Jonah is a big guy who tries to downplay his size using mostly quiet, gentle words, renting a room in her aunts home to get away and work on his book.He answers her aunts door in his boxer briefs and the irritation on both sides

This book is the story of Jonah and Carla. These two characters are insecure yet strong. Carla is escaping Miami for a while to recover from her failed engagement. While Jonah is in Cuba resting before he's off on his next assignment. He has issues with his size due to how he was treated in the past. She isn't the perfect little girl for her family like her siblings. She's nothing like them and is constantly disappointing her family. They are forced to survive a storm that rips through the area

This is romantic, sweet and amusing. Jonah is a loner because of an incident that happened in college that devastated him. He's cold and suspicious but also protective, hesitant and insecure. Carla is disheartened with life, after being dumped by her fiancé, and being a disappointment to her parents. When they meet, Jonah is a super jerk to her. She is insanely attracted to him. They have a quick one night stand, that neither of them really wants it to just be a one night stand, but they're just

Once I got started with this one I could not put it down. Carla has escaped to Cuba to get over her broken engagement and hide out at her aunt's place. She runs into Jonah, one of the boarders, who is a famous photojournalist who just needs some peace and quiet. That is so not Carla. These two do not get off to the best start since they out not trusting each other and that leads to all sorts of combustion and where there is smoke the chemistry surely leads to more and there is so much more. I have been looking forward to Carla Hernandez's story since I started the One Night in South Beach series - and I was not disappointed! Jonah Kane is the perfect hero for this story. I have to say that I really liked the beginning of Break of Day, but as soon as the relationship between Carla and Jonah started to progression I started to lose interest. This one started off pretty slow for me but I'm glad I stuck with it. The story picks up pace and interest in the second half of the book.
After her fiance abruptly calls off their wedding Carla Hernandez wants to get away from everything and just hide out for a while. What better place to hide than her aunt's home in Havana. When Carla goes to visit her aunt in Havana it's because she's running away. Her wedding was ruined when her fiancé called things off. The last thing she expected was Jonah Kane to open her aunts door.
Jonah was told by Lola that her niece was due to arrive. What he learned about her he didn't like. But along the way things changed.
Carla did not like Jonah at first sight. It might just be mutual. But after the storm which hit things might look different.

This is book 3 in the One Night in South Beach series and it features the very large and sexy photo journalist Jonah Kane and socialite, interior decorator Carla Hernandez. She was getting over a failed relationship and he was still running from his past. Their attraction towards each other was SIZZLING HOT! Carla is a little flaky and often forgets to turn on that mouth to brain filter, which often gets her in trouble with Jonah.

Carla is a sassy, blunt woman, “no. I happen to like the package this,” she pointed at his groin, “comes attached to.” Sometimes a woman just needs comfort from their man and don't care which body part that comfort comes from, "Carla woke up with her face in Jonah’s armpit. Instead of moving, she burrowed in deeper." I fell in love woth Jonah, but Carla's family was thw most entertaining in the book, they were certified crazy. ...more

This was listed as a romance so I wasn't expecting the amount of sex that it contained. The sexual thoughts and sexual activities of the lead characters dominated the book. Whilst I am not a prude I felt that this was excessive. I read to the end because I wanted to see if the actual storyline developed further, as the writing style was engaging. It did a bit but not enough for me.

This book was a short easy read. Romance novels aren't my usual go to read.
