The Baby Bombshell is the the 2nd book in the Shadow Creek Montana series. It can be read as a stand alone. I didn't read the 1st book and I had no problem following the story. This book was very sweet. Even in the sad moments I couldn't help but smile at the characters in this story. They were all just so lovable and down to earth. Jack was very sweet. He knew he messed up and he was willing to do what ever it took to get the love of his life Lily back. I cou

descriptionI like this cover. Great representation of the story. Good composition. It takes place just after Christmas, so the red and green of the text makes it slightly festive. It loses a star for one of my BIGGEST pet peeves...the author's name is larger than the title. Cue graphic design 101 lecture.description

descriptionI ADORED this book. Simply A-D-O-R-E-D it! This is the exact kind of second chance romance that I eat up by the spoonful. The hero does something to hurt the heroine...he comes back ready to grovel and m

After reading and reviewing a dozen books by an author, it's hard to come up with something I haven't already said. Victoria James has been a firm favourite of mine since I picked up her first book back in 2013 when I fell completely in love with her writing style and her ability to create emotional stories with wonderful couples set in the most gorgeous of surroundings. And the second in her Shadow Creek, Montana series brings us exactly all of that.

Victoria James for me is an author that manages to take the ever present tropes for romantic fiction and make them into something special.

The second book in the Shadow Creek, Montana series again took an old and well-loved second-chance story-line and gave it a new deeply emotional and tear-stained twist.

This is a very moving story exploring different reactions to tragic events. In this case Jack Bailey couldn’t cope with so he ran, leaving behind his family and his girlfriend, Lily Cookson. Five years later, he’s returned. He’s never kept touch with Lily but he’s determined to win her back and to prove he’s now man enough to stay to face the good times and the bad together . . .

This was another great read by this author. Not quite as good as the first but still great. This is Jack and Lily's story. They had a lot of hard feelings and problems to work through. Jack's unwavering commitment to getting Lily back was awesome to read. Also his faithfulness to their relationship even when they were apart was so refreshing. There are not many books like that out there. ...more
Five years ago, Jack Bailey left his fiancée, Lily Cookson, and his family following the tragic deaths of his twin brother and nephew. He returns at Christmas for the first time, determined to win back Lily's heart as well as his family's respect. On New Years Eve, he and Lily have their first confrontation and it's life changing.

Jack's reasons for leaving were understandable but staying away so long was harder to reconcile. I liked that the issues weren't so easy to resolve nor clear cut. Both

What a great read! Second chance love stories can be tricky, but this really worked for me.

Jack was a good hero. After a life altering event rocked his world, he left town leaving his close family and loving fiancée- at a time they all needed him the most. He let 5 years pass before he came back to fix things. Did he mess up? Yes! He also tried to fix what he broke and didn't give up when the going got tough. There was definitely character deve

Awesome story

Love Victoria James. This was a cute short love story that tugged at your heartstrings and touched your heart. I love the part with the wolves and it made me cry. But I still loved the entire story. Like to read about families.
5 Heartfelt Stars

The Baby Bombshell was a beautiful, heartwarming read.
The storyline was emotional, touching and brought out all the feels.

Jack and Lily were both likable, endearing characters that totally captured my heart. Watching their relationship unfold after what happened five years ago had me crying one minute, laughing and swooning the next.

Walking away from his family and Lily, his fiance was the hardest thing Jack's ever had to do.

So I didn't read the first book. I may still go back to it.

The series spins out from the death of Jack's twin brother, Matthew and his nephew, five years earlier.
Jack had a meltdown after his twin brother dies tragically in a car wreck with his little boy. There's some backstory there that doesn't get addressed in this book but is revealed in the first book. But anyways, when Jack left, he left behind his fiancee Lily without a backward glance. At least, that is what she sees and knows. Essenti

Super sweet small town romance. This is the second book in the series. Can be read as a standalone or in order.
Lily and Jack were engaged when they experienced a super traumatic event. Jack's twin and his young nephew were killed in an accident. And Jack couldn't deal with it so he left town and left Lily behind.
Now 5 years later he returns to try and win Lily back. But Lily can't seem to put the past behind her and doesn't trust that Jack will leave her again.

LOVED this one!! It's a fantastic second chance story. Lily and Jack had it all going until tragedy strikes Jack's family and he can't handle things. He leaves town leaving Lily heartbroken. It took him 5 long years to get himself together but he's back now and determined to prove to Lily he's the man she needs and deserves. Lily's not so sure about that though! How far will get go to get her back??

Don't miss this very well done story. Not a ton of angst, nice small town romance that just plucks

Jack, unable to look at himself in the mirror, grew a beard five years ago, shortly after the death of his twin, Michael, and nephew, Matthew. He also left his friends, his memories, his family, and his Lily. He's returning home, for good, knowing he needs to repair his relationships, and win back the love of his life.

Lily knew she'd see Jack, her ex-fiance, at the New Year's Eve party. After all, it was at his parents' house, and her best friend, Gwen, is Jack's younger sister. Lily discovered

I think this review will be short and to the point because I'm quite certain it will not be popular.

Our heroine, Lily, is a sweetheart who has gone through five years of pain and agony because her fiance, Jack the A$$hat, just up and moved away without a word after his twin brother and nephew were killed.

Five years later he returns wanting Lily back. He goes about bugging the heck out of her, pestering her to take him back. I wanted to scream at him to man-up and quit acting like he was in high

This is a second chance at love book that moves pretty fast, but it is Lilly who cannot forgive and forget the past and what Jack put her through, unwitting or not.

Both have had heartache, and both dealt with it differently, but now Jack is back to rekindle their romance and will stop at nothing to prove to Lilly that he wants her back for good.

I loved the second book in the Shadow Creek series. Once I started it I didn't want to put it down. Jack and Michael were twins. Michael was married to Julia and they had a little boy, Matthew. Jack was engaged to Lily. Then tragedy struck and Michael and Matthew were killed in an accident. In the blink of an eye everyone's life was changed forever. Jack couldn't deal with his brother's and nephew's deaths, not when he should have been the one taking Matthew to the movie that night. Unable to ha ...more

A couple separated by their past and further disconnected as time passed on. That’s what mostly appealed me to this book. Plus, add reconciliation chance to the mix and add a baby (or two) on top of it and it was the perfect combination for me. It’s just the type of contemporary romance I was looking for.

I cannot believe going into this book, I was expecting a Harlequin type of story which mostly is a short and light read but a bit of emotional too given the plot. Well, it was short since I fini

The Baby Bombshell took me for an emotional roll-a-coaster ride, every moment of the story filled with big feelings and intense ambiance.
I ended up inhaling the tale at one sitting with a box of tissues next to me, while completely lost in the world of the characters, feeling everything from the pain of the past hurt to the joy of the present jubilee, as the tale was forever so fluently flowing off the pages.
Jack Bailey demonstrated remarkable character development throughout the story. He had

Five Amazing Stars

I was so absolutely excited and completely thrilled to enjoy the second series, Shadow Park Montana. For another most wonderful relationship of the truest love of all. I was completely adored this romance when Jack and Lilly together.

As Lilly Cookson was now leaving her close friends and their families house on the night before a brand New Year. This was such an unbelievable uncomfortable time ever. It just couldn't get any worse. Such a cold winters night

“I never stopped loving you.”

It's the simplest—and most complicated—sentiment in the world, and it's the reason I love second chance romance so much. “I never stopped loving you.” Cue all the swooning, please and thank you.

And there is a lot of swooning to be done in The Baby Bombshell. This is a book that makes a promise and delivers—it's a sweet, blissful, emotional take two for a couple that just HAS to be together. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. It's confused feelings, repressed anger, hidden

The Baby Bombshell is a hopeful second chance romance. Secrets, fears, and dreams make up Jack and Lily's story, past and present.

This was a really cute and sweet story of second chances, loss, forgiveness and knowing the one person is the "one" for you! I read this nonstop and I may have lost some sleep because I read straight through but it was well worth it! I love the family connections here!
