Tied was one of those books that was just perfect for me. I can't even put my finger on why I loved it so much, but boy did I.
I knew a little bit about Tyler and Holly's background from reading Torn, but this can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Both of these characters have been through so much. Together, they learn to heal, learn to love, and feel safe with one another.
Ty had a rough adolescence and is a loner. He saved an abducted teen years ago, and that only made his story more messed up. That teen comes back into his life as an adult and they become friends. Holly has lived a life no one should have to live. Taken as a child, and found at fourteen, she spent most of her life in captivity. Though she's been out for years, her life isn't what she imagined it would be and she feels very much alone.
Until she sees Tyler again. Sigh. This love story was the absolute best. What a fairytale romance. These two were perfect for one another and I couldn't have loved this more!
“I can almost believe this girl could love me, scars, damage, ugliness and all . And oh, how ferociously I would love her back if given the chance .”

5 Twin Flame Stars ⭐
An explosion of stars wouldn't be enough after what I’ve just read. You would need to be dead inside not to feel a multitude of emotions reading Tied. I just held my breath the entire time and wished for a happy ending. A tortured recluse who rescues the 'girl in the hole'. This was a tragic tale at its finest. Large amounts of alcohol required...
I wanted to be responsible for igniting a feeling in a soul just as lonely and broken as my own.
Six degrees of separation. A little 5-year girl kidnapped, rescued by her Prince 11 years later. Except he is just as broken she. When Holly is rescued from the pits of hell, instead of being welcomed with open arms, her parents are quick to transfer to a supervised facility. Unable to cope with the trauma of it all, Holly is once again alone. The only thing that keeps her sane is knowing she will be one day reunited with her prince.
“You’re not lost baby,” he says in his soft, scratchy tone. “I found you, and you’re right where you belong.”
Tyler Grace is no prince. In fact, he is feared and loathed by the locals. Once he had it all, but an accident that left him disfigured, took him down a spiral of self-destruction. With much self-loathing and regret, he now chooses to live alone in the woods. When he saved Holly, he had no idea that she would eventually be his redemption.
“I’m here forever. No matter what life throws us. We’ll never be lost or alone again.”
I can’t explain how shocking and devastating this story was. Triggers of child abuse should be acknowledged, yet somehow this author wove a magical tale of healing and love that was incredibly breathtaking. I am honestly at a loss for words. Tied will be one of those stories that will stay with me for many moons. There is nothing more rewarding then a HEA for two outcasts that deserved it the most.

This was so freaking good!! I mean I wanted to smack people here and there but still 😏 And the epilogue brought a tear to my eye, it was perfect!! ❌⭕️

➦This is a beautiful read about two broken people helping each other heal and finding home in one another. If you enjoy emotional books then give this one a look. I read it in one sitting and couldn't actually believe it was over when I got to the end. I was wishing for an epilogue but there was an option to sign up and receive one via e-mail. Did so and now ampatiently waiting for it.

➦I have to say that this book was way different from the first one in the series. But one thing still holds true - Carian Cole sure knows how to write. And even thought I didn't feel as much sexual tension here as in book #1, it wasn't really an issue, since the emphasis of the story was on other things. These two main characters had a special kind of connection and I was just glad they found solace in each other. And I can sleep well at night knowing they are living out their happily ever after somewhere on the pages of a book.

’TIED' is the second book in Carian Cole's (Devils Wolves #2) series but can be read as a complete standalone. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’
Tyler Grace and Holly Daniels meet in the most unconventional way, he’s the ‘Prince’ that came to her rescue.
The forest is where Tyler Grace can drop all his inhibitions and be at peace within himself, an outcast of the township at the age of sixteen because of his appearance, scars and cuts mar his body and his voice is rough to the ears due to a severed vein in his throat. Due to being pushed into a fire at a beach bonfire at a party he was at and the cuts come from a motorcyle accident where he flew through someone's window whilst high as a kite.
Walking through the forest one day he’s alerted to a strange noise that sounds like a deer huffing, but what he does find is beyond his wild imagination, following the noise he stumbles upon a young scared, malnourished girl trapped underground clutching a backpack and a small white dog, it was the dogs whining that alerted him to the underground well like shelter.
After pulling her and her dog out he realises they aren't alone, turning around he sees a man coming at them with an eight inch blade clutched in his hand. Without consciously thinking about it Tyler takes matters into his own hands and strangles the life out of the man.
➸ The man choking him was an animal with long, messy, blonde hair and wild eyes, his muscular arms and hands covered with brightly coloured tattoos. His voice rough and raw.
Holly Daniels had her life stolen from her as an eight year old and was held captive for ten years until the prince like one of her mystical characters in her books came to save her.
➸ Losing myself in the stories until I became a part of them. That's how I found out the prince would come and save me. It was all in the books, clear as day. So I waited as patiently as I could for him to come.
One would think that her parents would be over the moon to have their daughter back amongst them wasn't the case, how they acted towards Holly broke my heart, instead of taking her home to heal they placed her in a facility that helped victims of similar cases to hers.
Weeks and months and a year goes by and slowly Holly is healing, she's able to do more for herself, going back to the forest where she was held but this time on a mission to find the forest santa, a magical santa that decorates a pine tree and leaves 6 gifts under the tree once a year.
The next day she ventures into the forest again and takes a different path that leads her to her Prince again, the one that saved her. The most beautiful prince in the world, just like the ones in her books.
From this point onwards she goes back to visit him and slowly they heal each other, piece by piece the girl in the hole and the prince finally have their HEA.
♛ MY THOUGHTS: ♛ This is the second book I’ve read by this author, and I was blown away by how it unexpectedly took me on a path I wasn’t prepared for, the ‘Prologue’ was a setting for a unique thrilling read but it’s not until you hit that first chapter that things took me by surprise, and I was hooked, my heart broke into tiny pieces and instead of the author putting a bandaid on that bitch the further I went into the book my heart got shattered into smithereens, even though Holly was hindered by her experience and she came across a lot younger than I pinpointed her to be you still connect with her character on a more emotional level than you could imagine. This took me on such a unique heartfelt, heart jerker of an unputdownable read.

I can’t imagine not loving a Carian Cole book. She just has this special knack that always reaches the deep recesses of my heart. She never fails to rip it apart before she pieces it back together in the most gorgeous love stories imaginable.
So, let me get this straight ... somebody kidnaps your daughter eleven years ago and you’re given a fucking miracle by having her returned to you. Not only is she traumatized, she’s still in the mindset of the age she was when she was taken. She’s had no affection, no family for eleven years. So your best option is to send her to live in a home because you and your husband have jobs and Holly’s little sister has piano practices. Wow, somebody give these people a parent award because that’s just stellar. 🤦🏼♀️🤬
Thank god for Zack and Anna but how sad that her brother and his girlfriend need to be there when her parents obviously don’t care what you actually want or need. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
With the dog rescuing, the secret Santa shenanigans and a pet fox, Tyler really is the epitome of Disney prince. That is if a Disney prince was riddled with scars and ink with a mouth like a sailor.
I adore Ty’s family’s traditions! I especially liked what he did with his coins. It’s like he took it to the next level.
I love them so much and I hate to let them go especially because they prove that Fairy Tales really do come true.

The Hero: Tyler - He is walking in the woods and finds a teenage girl in a well. He gets her out and kills the guy that comes back for her as he is rescuing her. Tyler was badly burned in a fire and he now lives in a small house in the woods.
The Story: Tyler is known as an outcast in the small town because he lives alone in the woods, rarely talks, has tattoos and rides a motorcycle. Though he does things like decorates different trees in the forest for Christmas, finds lost dogs and more. After rescuing Holly, he takes care of the dog she was found with.
This book was as much about recovering from past trauma as a romance. I really felt for Holly after she was rescued. We hear every now and then about girls being rescued from captivity after being stolen away and hardly think about the struggle they go through once they are returned. While being held captive, Holly finds refuge in her book of fairy tales and after her rescue she sees Tyler as the handsome prince who rescued her.
Her parents don’t seem at all happy to have her back. The family basically broke apart after she was taken. Her father getting lost in his work, while her mother broke down for years and was only able to build herself up again after getting pregnant again five years later. Now she doesn’t seem to want her ordered life or her innocent young daughter corrupted by a traumatized girl. So they have her live at a treatment facility and only come home on the weekends.
I really liked Holly’s brother, who is the only one who truly cared for her and tries to help her. He explains to her why the rest of the family is the way they are. He wants her to move with him to New York and help integrate her into a new life.
The narration was done by Ava Erickson and Guy Locke. Ava did a terrific job and I really enjoy her voice. However, Guy Locke drove me crazy on this one. I don’t like his cadence and this guy is a loner who hangs out in the woods and rarely speaks, yet the narrator sounds like a banker. It just didn’t fit at all. Though I stuck it out because I was interested in the story and I genuinely liked these two characters.

Such a beautiful,unique,emotional and intense story.I was hooked and I couldn't put it down.Tied wasn't exactly what I was expecting it was so much more.
Ty and Holly are two broken characters and when they find each other it is so beautiful.I loved watching them trying to have a normal relationship first as friends and then in something more.I ached for both of them and I was hoping from the beginning to see them happy.Their love is unique and epic.

This is my first book by Carian Cole and I can't wait to read more!!!I love the writing and the plot is refreshing.If you are looking for an intense and heartwarming story Tied is perfect for you.

It was all about Tyler for me. He was EVERYTHING!! It's not to say that I didn't like Holly or that I wasn't sympathetic to her plight because I definitely was. She was kidnapped at the age of 8 and eventually rescued by Ty 10 years later. So I felt that. Her and Ty were "tied" to each other in more ways than one.

She was Ty's perfect match, in every way. Their slow build that evolved from rescuer/rescuee to friends to soulmates was a thing of beauty and it was all due to Ty. He was ultimately swoon-worthy and romantic. I only wish I could have seen some sort of resolution to the distance between these two and their families. Holly and her brother seemed to be on the right path, but the same couldn't have been said for her little sister or her parents. As for Ty, there was no doubt that his family loved him to pieces but it would have been nice to see him embraced back into the fold. I would loved to have seen him re-establish his relationship with them.

Tyler was scarred, wild, and rough but Holly could not find it in her heart to fear him. For in his penetrating gaze she sensed a savage pain she longed to soothe. Holly was facing her own demons too and suffering from PTSD and other long-term effects generated by her long kidnapping by a paedophile.
“In Tyler’s eyes, I see the man behind the scars and the mask. The man he was before life tore him apart and drove him to hide in the woods. Before some tragedy made him a man who could strangle someone to death. Just like me, there’s a person hiding in there who had their very soul stolen from them, and I see him, trying to let me in. I see him trying to get out.” ~ Holly
These two broken souls were perfectly matched. The characters earned each other's love, and that was refreshing for me. Tyler was respectful and admired Holly. Holly also accepted the hero as how he was. I loved how they got to know each other, the slow burn toward sex…The slow build-up of their relationship and the pain and sweetness of falling in love keeps the reader going. One aspect of this story was utterly heartbreaking. I felt the pain and anguish that both Tyler and Holly faced. I loved the fact that love blossoms realistically and intensely, and the sexual content wasn't the focus.
There are ways in which this book could have become a five star with a complete resolution (improve family relationships) and a longer HEA where we see the couple putting back together a new life, but the story is very good as it is. I fell in love with CC’s writing. It's magical, truly made me drowning into the characters' world. They were so alive. I really enjoyed this one!

These two broken souls were perfectly matched. The characters earned each other's love, and that was refreshing for me. Tyler was respectful and admired Holly. Holly also accepted the hero as how he was. I loved how they got to know each other, the slow burn toward sex…The slow build-up of their relationship and the pain and sweetness of falling in love keeps the reader going. One aspect of this story was utterly heartbreaking. I felt the pain and anguish that both Tyler and Holly faced. I loved the fact that love blossoms realistically and intensely, and the sexual content wasn't the focus.
There are ways in which this book could have become a five star with a complete resolution (improve family relationships) and a longer HEA where we see the couple putting back together a new life, but the story is very good as it is. I fell in love with CC’s writing. It's magical, truly made me drowning into the characters' world. They were so alive. I really enjoyed this one!

This book was so different from book one in the series and I actually enjoyed it a lot more. Holly was kidnapped when she was 5 and Tyler ended up finding her and saving her 11 years later. Tyler has scars of his own, both physical and emotional, and he has a hard time letting people in. 2 years later, Holly and Tyler reconnect and help heal each other. I loved the journey both of our characters took and how much they had to heal after both of their traumas. I will say, Holly reads very young and naive, especially because she grew up in captivity, and I had to make myself forget that Tyler was 12 or more years older than her (I forget the exact amount), meaning she was 18 and he was in his 30s. Because she read even younger than 18, I thought that age gap didn't really work for me, but if I didn't think about how old she was, I really enjoyed watching them grow closer and slowly develop a romance. This is definitely a slow romance and more about emotional healing. If you want an emotional romance, I would recommend picking this up!

this was really sweet and so completely different than the first book in the series. carian cole does such a fantastic job at fleshing out her characters and making their stories feel real. i honestly feel lucky to have discovered a new favorite romance author so late in the year (and after a pretty good handful of disappointing romances lately).
this story is pretty dark in that it follows a girl, holly, who was abducted and kept captive for 11 years. and her love interest is a guy whose past isn't exactly pretty either. but somehow cole is able to keep the tone respectful while keeping some levity. there are no graphic flashbacks yet i still felt the dread and anxiety that holly felt while recovering.
i really liked both of the characters. i think i would have preferred a little more character growth on tyler's (the love interest) part but honestly i liked that neither character was magically cured. i really liked too how tyler always asked for consent and that the sex scenes were very sweet and definitely built up throughout the book. nothing is worse than giving a character a traumatic past and then paying no mind to their ptsd when you create sex scenes. i mean i'm not a survivor of abuse but i'd argue that goes from 0 to fuck town in a first encounter is probably unrealistic. and i like that carian cole seemed to really get that.
this wasn't what i'd call a "fun" lighthearted romance but it did have a happy ending and it did have a lot of sweet moments. i don't think i liked this one as much as the first, but that's just because the first one really spoke to my love of age gaps. regardless, i would highly recommend this. sincerely one of the best romances i've read this year.

I am very impressed with Tied. Miss Cole done a great job bringing the story of kidnapped victim with great respect and care.
I love both Tyler and Holly. Both have a tragic and heart breaking past and yet they found each other. Give strenght and move on. Their journey not an easy one. The conversation between them are sweet and tender.
Miss Cole wins me over with Tied.

This so very traumatic and heartbreaking, the story is written beautifully. 🖤
My soul cried for both of them. And i wanted to gut every insensitive people around who stopped them from healing.
The heroine is so strong, brave and beautiful. I loved her so much for not giving up.
"And the silence screamed the loudest, crying to be heard"
The misunderstood hero turned into a prince charming she ever dreamt about.
"And I guess we’re perfect together because her demons are strong enough to wrangle with mine."
It was so beautiful to read about 2 very damaged, very tied people grow and heal together and find themselves in each other. ❤❤

the damsel in distress meets her knight in shining motorcycle...
idk why i expected this to be dark (or had more grit) and spicy, but im disappointed that it wasnt. in fact, it was rather sweet and oddly whimsical. i suppose it was the premise (heroine has been held hostage for 11 years before shes eventually saved by the hero) and the cover that led me to believe it was going to be gory, bloody, and full of debauchery. 👀
equally disappointing (and upsetting) was the fact that the heroine was made to have no one in her corner, except the hero. well, i guess she had her friend and her brother, but her parents (mom especially) needed to be burned at the stake. i feel like this book is perfect for Mia Sheridan fans, which i am but unfortunately wasnt in the mood for, so we didnt match. 😬

Pretty good.
I didn't read it for the "hot" scenes, and you shouldn't either. There is a bit, but that's not the focus of this story.
It's about two broken people who find each other, through fate, karma, whatever you want to call it. He's been burned, scarred by broken glass, vocal cords damaged. She's been held by a pedophile for 11 years, and by accident, he saved her.
Their fates are more intertwined than either of them knows. The way they come together slowly, the way 2 broken people find love with each other... was nicely, sensitively done. And my throat tightened up a few times as I read.
Would recommend to readers who are drawn to wounded souls.

A fairytale in its purest form.
A Prince who doesn't want to be the hero and a Princess who refuses to become a victim even after the worst imaginable torment fell upon her.
Exactly what I needed to read, in order to get out of my book slump. 5 huge stars not only because I love Carian Cole and her crazy writing skills, but mostly because I fell in love with the story, the characters and every little thing in this book.
Holly is a girl who went through a nightmare but kept her innocence intact. She was kidnapped and kept for ten years in a filthy hole, starved, abused and isolated with her only friends being a small dog, a TV and a pile of old fairytales. Fairytales that gave her courage and hopes to survive, she knew that somehow one day the Prince will come to her rescue. Farfetched? Not at all...
Tyler Grace is not the Prince Charming, although he secretly wants to be. After some fateful events that changed his course of life and appearance, he decided to exile himself into the woods where he lives a secluded life away from his family and friends. And with good reason. One day he will stumble upon something he never expected and he will become the Knight in shiny armor for Holly and her little dog Poppy. But their story has just begun.
A love that no one expected, between two scarred souls who share much more than they originally thought. Two lives intertwined by fate, pain and destruction. A story that had me guessing and obsessing about every little detail. I had the best time reading it and when it ended I wanted more. Well, the good thing is that there is a bonus future chapter...
All in all, we have a playful, gorgeous guy turned into a sexy, ex-addict masked hero who hides out of guilt and is rude towards everyone for the same reason and a sweet, terrified but at the same time brave girl who relentlessly seeks her blue-eyed Prince. What's not to love!?

- Her parents suck big time.
- I actually felt that they replaced her with the new daughter.
- Thank God, Anna and Zac are great.
- Her mother is completely unacceptable.
- Boomer and Poppy, pure joy.
- It's devastating, the way she feels about her "new" room.
- Also, the way she feels about her books.
- Her grandma was amazing, I wanted more interactions with her. The gift she brought Holly was heartwarming.
- Every book by Carian Cole has is animal-friendly and Tied wasn't an exception.
- Forest Santa, what an incredible story.
- He yawned the first time she found him!! I laughed so hard.
- OMG Ty!! His life story is heartwrenching.
- Poor Tor, he had to go through so much.
- I loved this version of the Jar. The tiny papers and later the ring made out of coins, had me smiling like a lunatic.
- I knew they were linked in other ways!!!!!!!!!!! I just knew it !!!!
- Their book was so sweet! And illustrated by Lukas!!!!
- No matter what Holly will always believe in fairytales. She will always be a sweet 8-year-old girl at heart.

I love Carian Cole’s stories. She can feature either perfect or broken heroes meeting their ideal female counterparts. She gives us sweet romance stories spiced up with some (bearable) angst. As Carian is a real animal lover she always features some pet to my great delight.
I’ve read and loved Torn, the first Devils Wolves book. I was intrigued by Tyler, the broken and elusive savage of the family and could not wait to read his story! I wanted to know what happened to make him so wild and weird shunned by the whole town. I love few things more than books with a broken hero finding his salvation. As you can guess I had great expectations for Tied. Maybe too much.
In Tied gave I learned what happened to him to make him a recluse. He also met his perfect match in Holly a very loveable heroine. Add to it two pets instead of one: a fox and a puppy I should have been in heaven.
So why not 5 stars?
Certainly because of my too great expectations but also as I would have expected something else given the beginnings of the story.
Within the first pages we are thrown into dramatic circumstances. Literally sucked into the story. Tyler discovers a girl hidden with a puppy. They are in a hole in the middle of the forest. It’s obvious she’s been held captive and to free her he has to kill her abductor. She is scarred mentally and physically, malnourished. Holly has been captured ten years ago forced into seclusion and abused by her kidnapper.
Tyler is seen like the local addict, the weirdo. Instead of being congratulated as a hero he is thrown into jail. The police officers believe him to be her abductor!
Very intense and promising beginning right? That’s what I thought. I was utterly capivated by the tone of the story!
Holly has been so isolated that she’s never learned anything and had no chance to have a normal childhood. Many things can trigger a panic attack. The only way she endured her inhuman ordeal was reading her fairy tale books. I loved the “power of books”! They gave her hope. She’s always known her prince would come and free her. Tyler severely scarred, burned and tattooed is her prince. She is determined to find him again but her parents chose to send Holly to a special facility dealing with victims of abuse.
One year later they meet again. As much as Tyler tries to discourage her to come back Holly is determined to befriend him. Not easily discouraged she will help Tyler to fight his demons and he will help her as well. It was obvious based on their traumatic pasts that they were the perfect match.
I loved Holly as she has been abused but is determined to be her own independent person. She wants to take fate in her hands, to face her fears and overcome them. She also retains some innocence and was refreshing compared with jagged heroines.
Tyler…came as a jackass in my books. As much as I love broken heroes his trip in guilt land became tiring as he needed a very long time to pull his head out of his @ss as his brother said. I could not help comparing Tyler with Vandal from Ashes and Embers another broken hero. Vandal was broken and twisted. He has some kinks but …let’s just say Vandal is a better fit to my love story with broken heroes. Unfair for Tyler? Certainly but life’s not fair!
On the other hand I’ve never been in his shoes. Maybe after what he lived I would be bratty. Maybe I would become a hermit and be riddled with guilt. Maybe I would snap at everyone trying to help me. Maybe….
What I did love was his care for animals and his little Christmas tradition. He also made Holly feel capable. That’s a huge plus point.
Now to get to the crux of my unmet expectations: I would have loved reading more about the abuse, PTSD, etc. Carian did not exactly brushed it under the rug, far from it but there was a little something missing for me to really feel overwhelmed by the story. Give me flash backs with sweat and galloping hearts. Give me torture sessions (maybe not so graphic but …). Give me…
I think Carian made this conscious choice to rather focus on the romance and healing of two damaged souls than to delve into post-traumatic stress disorder. In this she is true to herself and I respect her choice. But I can’t help feel like the traumatic experience is only used as a prop for the love story and hasn’t been exploited to its full potential.
Anyway these are my personal expectations and tastes. I know Carian fans won’t be disappointed with this story as she once more delivers her magic touch. A sweet sometimes angsty story about two lost souls helping mend the other.
Oh and just to be clear: I love Carian Cole as an author and certainly as a person. She is one of the most caring and generous souls I know and my love story with her books is to be continued.

The story felt too dawn out.

I wanted more about their life together. I wish we could have seen they interacting with their families, going out together and having kids.
The epilogue tells us they were together for over 50 years, had kids and a very happy life but there was a five years cancer they both battle that imo was not necessary, they already suffer too much I think would have been better if they both passed away because of age not a disease.
He rescued her from the place the man who kidnapped and raped her for eleven years had hidden her. The man showed up when he was waiting for the 911 and he killed him, it was self defense, the man would never let Holly go and would have killed him. Anyway I couldn’t care less about the pedophile’s life, Tyler was a hero and he did the world a favor.
After their first kiss when she doesn’t know what to do so she shut herself down, he believed he was rejected and a week later goes to an escort but as soon as the woman touch his leg he grabs her hand and he doesn’t know if he is going to bend her or leave her there but the woman talks and turns out he recognizes his sister voices so nothings happens. Talking to his sister about Holly he realizes he doesn’t want any other woman.
He is truly a prince to her and is so fucking unfair how much they suffer.
It’s not a easy read. I had some trouble about how she grown up fast during the two years after she was saved by him until they meet again but she already went through so much shit that I was glad she was healing.
I would like to see her getting a tattoo covering one of her scars, the “mine” written bellow her belly button.
I love how he has a good soul, saving animals and donating money to his mother shelter.

Great mix of angst and cuteness and some Beauty and the Beast vibes
This was a great Christmas read although the book starts rough. But it then unfolds into one of the cutest, coziest, most adorable romances that I've ever read.
In the beginning of the story, Tyler finds Holly one day in a basement in the woods where she had been kept for almost 12 years by a psycho, from the age of 5 until de age of 17. He manages to kill her attacker and call for help.
At that point, Tyler had been in a fire that led him to drug abuse and another horrible accident that nearly took his life, almost severed his vocal chords and led him to a lonely secluded life.
They don't see each other for more than 2 years, in which time Holly is sent by her parents to a facility to deal with her emotional and physical abuse.
In a lot of ways, Holly is still stuck in her 5 year old state. She is so innocent and sincere and still believes in fairytales. Her parents obviously don't know how to handle her bad experience and pretty much abandon her in that facility. Her brother and his fiancée are the only constant friends she has.
After 2 years, she finds Tyler and they strike an unlikely friendship. Their love is a slow burn littered with fear and uncertainty but also new love and hope. I liked their friendship so much.
"We have so many fucked-up gray areas between us we’re practically a black-and-white movie."
Behind a gruff exterior marked with bad scars, tattoos and a troubled past, Tyler is actually a very sweet and caring guy, who knows grief and sorrow and comes to care about Holly a great deal. He's always careful with her, he treats like an adult which is more than most of her family does. My only critique here is that we don't get to see much of his healing just a lot of hers. And at some point he mentions that he gets off on fear but that doesn't progress any further. I would have liked to see how the author ties that plot line but it was swept aside.
I liked Holly as well, I think the portrayal of her recovery was very realistic and it's one of the reasons I like this author so much. Nothing is over the top but real and you can really relate to her characters.
The ending was wholesome and I think that this story and these characters really needed it.

The narrators have different reading speeds but it wasn't very disturbing in the end.
Ava Erickson does a great job as Holly but not so much when she has to mimic Tyler's voice.
Guy Locke does a great job at reading in Tyler's bad voice but he is a bit short and unemotional with his reading.
Over all it was a good reading experience. But I think this book would be enjoyed more if you read it traditionally.
Safety: some recollection of the mental abuse that Holly survived, 3 scenes with medium heat.

Tied is book #2 in The Devil's Wolves Series and can totally be read as a stand-alone if you so choose.
Tied brings forth a much different story than with Torn. Carian's writing is mature, thought-provoking, and delicate when it needs to be, to do this story justice.
Where Torn was a bit of taboo, this is a whole lot of two people coming together who have had some very f'ed up things happen to them in the past, to living what amounts to the fairytale that everyone wants.
Tyler and Holly meet in other in the craziest of ways - both times they meet one another - and in the midst of what's probably the most confusing times of their lives; they find that they are happiest together - even if it doesn't seem to make sense to anyone else.
Their dynamic and chemistry is off-the-charts. Both of them have a past, both of them have dark spots in their lives that neither one of them want to open a window too. But they do, and like the skylights they both love, it allows the light to shine through the darkness.
One of my favorite parts in the beginning is when he acts irritated with her, and she refers to him having a stray-cat-syndrome (where he takes in anything that just won't go away), because it's truly two people who don't know how to flirt - flirting...lol! Everything about this book is subtle, not a lot is in your face, and while some readers may not like that, it's refreshing to me.
They compliment each other in a such amazing ways. He doesn't talk, she can't stop. She can't drive, he teaches her. She's scared to touch a man, he teaches her how. He's never told others about what happened to him, but he tells her. He never goes out in public during the day, he does to make her happy. This is truly the best kind of love story.
Tyler is the heart of this family, and I can't wait to see where this angelic golden child, turned social outcast, turned love of a woman's life goes when he decides to bring them all back in his life.
Sweet, emotional, hot in the places it needs to be, and makes everybody want to believe in the HEA!
Now,everybody just go find a dude with a pet fox, so you can move into the woods and build a tiny home. :)

So.... here's where I get to tell you how big a dork I can be. I decided to read this book because of the Title and Cover. I merely skimmed the blurb. I assumed from the title it was either an MC or Shifter Romance. WRONG! OMG, this book you guys!! Tied is a gut-punch in the very best way. It was completely unexpected and utterly spellbinding.
The main characters, Holly and Tyler experience extreme hardships and traumatic events. They're both broken and beaten down, but also doing the best they can to cope with the crappy hand life dealt them. The story is a testament to the healing power of love and understanding.
I adored Tyler. He's scarred and ostracized himself from society, but fate keeps putting in the path of Holly. Fortunately he was able to rescue her from "the bad man" as well as her inner demons. Holly is abused and sheltered, but feels the connection with Tyler immediately. He's her prince.
The plot is deep and at times dark and gritty. However, what most impressed me was the way the author portrayed the after effects of the events. It's a brutally honest narrative of what happens to families when tragedy strikes. I adore that! With that said, this may not be for everyone.
Overall, this is an engrossing read. It's beautiful and deeply moving. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet and fall for these characters.

I'm glad I finally got to read this book because it was such a beautiful story! Not gonna lie, in the beginning I didn't like much and I thought that I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I was so wrong and I'm really happy for that 😅
It's more slow burn than I usually go for (they shared their first kiss @ 65%) but, surprisingly, I liked it sooo much! Holly and Tyler are two tortured souls that they find what they're looking for in each other, firstly as friends and then as lovers. I didn't even mind the fact that he stalked her a few times. He was so sweet to her, he was there for her every step of the way, he didn't put pressure on her and on top of that he took care of her dog when she wasn't able to do it.
It would be a solid 5-star read for me if it wasn't that slow in the beginning and if it didn't remind me of one book I read in the past. There was a scene that made me uncomfortable at first (not between the two MC) and I didn't like the epilogue tbh but overall it was a beautiful story. 4 ⭐

WOW !what an a amazing story so well written just like all the books by Carian Cole.
I love this book so much I especially like the characters. Take Tyler Grace for example. Tyler is Toren's brother from the first book torn, and I have to say I found him in the first book to be a bit scary, and also a bit of a jerk. So I was a little worried for Holly when he started showing up and appear to be watching her.
Holly is just the sweetest I can't imagine anyone not liking her. She was kidnapped abuse and scared by some psycho for 11 years, and when she is finally rescue she still manages to keep hope alive that she can still find happiness with the right man. What a trooper.
If you like books that start quickly you won't be waiting long this story pulls you in from the first few chapters. So easy to read with a great flow to the story, the sought of book you will gladly loose sleep over just so you can keep reading love it can't recommend this enough.
