Katie Souza was a career criminal, and after being convicted of a number of felonies, she was sent to federal prison to serve almost twelve years. While serving what would be her final prison sentence, Katie encountered God in a way that dramatically changed her life. She immediately became an outspoken advocate for Jesus, and her infectious love for Him caused many women inside her cell block to accept Him as their Savior.
Her story is a vivid demonstration of the desperate need we have for the healing of soul wounds–the often unidentified impediment that holds us back. Through this remarkable story and teaching, you will be able to find a pathway to healing and receive the blessings God is pouring out.
I found of lot of things useful to highlight and remember to think about, in this book. It's uplifting and encouraging, which is why I have it 3 stars and not 2. However, it was a lot like the equivalent of watching an over the top evangelical pastor heal people on stage on YouTube... But in reading. Not sure I believe all of what she said she's doing... Myself, I tried praying in the "command the dunamis" style she talks about 99% of the book, and felt very uncomfortable with it. I don't like the feeling of trying to conjure up some powers with in myself. I'd rather just pray and ask God, not command that I have this power to heal by his "dunamis". Did she heal herself from cancer and other illnesses? Maybe. But she really lost me at saying the reason all these people had holes in their teeth was from talking negatively and through her, God made the enamel grow back right then and there! And the metal in someone's bones... Well poof it just disappeared and he was perfect after she layed hands on him and prayed. But where she really... Reeeeeaalllly lost me was saying that menopause is just caused by being possessed by a demon, and totally avoidable if you just command that demon out in the name of Jesus. Sounds very much like the supertitions from hundreds of years ago when they believed every affliction in life was demonic possession.
3.5 - I agree with a lot of what Souza has to say. I’ve read a lot about the soul and I think most of what she writes about has a biblical foundation. Her take is fresh even though the concepts weren’t new to me. The book was generally easy to read and understandable.
That said, she does present some concepts I’m not sure about, need to research more, or has takes on them that I think are incomplete. It’s possible this was intended to be an introduction to people who don’t know about soul issues, so I may just be coming with a deeper understanding than most readers. It was hard to get into this book because the first chapter is poorly written and seems completely unnecessary. I’m not sure why her editor didn’t have her remove that chapter and sprinkle some of the more pertinent life stories throughout, but I almost put the book down and didn’t come back. I’d encourage anyone turned off by the first chapter to push through or just skip it entirely.
Most of this text was really good. I am a little skeptical about whether some of the information is actually doctrinally sound, and sounded a bit new age.
Get healed from all your soul wounds and set free!
This book opened my eyes to understand what is going in in our souls and what Jesus died on the cross for. I applied many of the principles to myself and recommended the book to many other people that were also set free from soul wounds. This book is for any Christian that wants to use the fullness of what Jesus Christ died on the cross for and to be set free. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, Bless the LORD!
This is not a book to just read, but to interact with. It's full of activations and declarations to speak healing into your soul. Katie has a unique gifting and anointing to lead people to healing of their souls, and therefore their bodies as well. I'm so glad I found this book! It's changed the way I pray and given new strategies for spiritual warfare.
This book was an eye opener concerning our souls and how they affect us. Our spirit is a new creation, but our souls need saving. So much of how we physically feel and act are a reflection of the health of our souls. I’ve already recommended this book to many friends.
I found every chapter full of the most useful gold nuggets that one can ever think or ask for!!!! Every message comes from her heart, sharing Yahweh 's love, goodness & faithfulness & helping us understand why we are stuck & the way open & free, open & beyond!!! Worth reading this book and do what it says.
I believe, decreed, and know I've been freed by the power of the blood and the dunamis power of my resurrected King! Thank you Jesus and thank you Katie for being His vessel of truth and revelation!
I was a little slow to warm up to this book and sometimes I think Katie stretches some application of Scriptural references. Despite this the book is rich in strategy, new revelation, and Scriptural Word study.
This book has incredible healing power. I never expected to experience the type of healing that I have received just by reading this and following the prayers! This is my favorite Katie Souza book yet!
This was a liberating book for those wanting to delve into what wounds the soul and ways to heal it. The author tells interesting stories of deliverance as she weaves in her own story of addiction and subsequent freedom. I received a lot of good nuggets and learned a lot. A good read!
There are so many things in this book a Believer needs to know. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and Katie gives tools needed to help combat ploys used against us!
recommend this book what I've learned and what she tells you you start getting why we are how we are in this world and we are hurting inside what I like it has prayers and scriptures from the Bible
The finished work of Christ in the Cross, the Blood of Jesus and the power of the Resurrection. Wow, get ready for a new life. Well written explaining how the above can rescue and redeem us. Interesting reading when she talks candidly about her own life. Explains spiritually the cause of our troubles and how to change it.
