"Would you kill baby dinosaur Hitler if you could?"

Lord Overseer Veli is revealed to actually be a dinosaur and there's time travel. A final nonsensical plot whereby Platoon F travels back in time to try to stop young Veli (short for "Velociraptor") from being tormented by his dinosaur classmates and growing up into a genocidal prick. The plan involves castration. Because of course it does. And it's over.

To be or not to see?
Try, there is no try there is just do.
Shoot first or ask questions?

Veli is on the run.
What would you do when you find him?

One small snip of the book changed history forever.

Another fun book and adventure for Platoon F.

I received a copy as an advanced reader but purchased it because I enjoyed it.

Shelves: logsdon
Have read many reviews of different books that give outline of the story, but this is Logsdon and t it's not really something one could do when it's {Terry} Pratchett meets {Douglas} Adams meets Monty Python meets Red Dwarf meets Star Trek meets Doctor Who meets Twilight Zone/Outer Limits/Night Gallery.... Realized at end of the Pentalogy that there are 2 of 'them', writers, so guess 2 peas in an...alien pod.... Their 'issues' have 'issues', and sincerely suggest that they both seem professional ...more

If you are a fan of crude humor and great storytelling, then you have come to the right place! Everything in the Platoon F series is enjoyable. The search for Veli is the ninth mission for our Platoon F friends and they continue to perform their hard tasks with hilarious effort. Every time I read one of their missions I find myself laughing out loud.

This is the 9th book in the series. You could just read this book, but would highly recommend reading the whole series. Not only because they are fantastic but also to follow the story line to its full extent. If you are not into crude or innuendo's and more adult based books then this may not be for you, but if you are a fan of the likes of Monty Python, or Red dwarf and Sci Fi comedy, then you will enjoy this series. Once again the crazy crew of Platoon F, lead by Captain Don Harr (flip first ...more

In our last installment of the adventures of Platoon F, we learned that Lord Veli was not the evil person we thought he was, but that he was an evil velociraptor! And although Lord Veli didn’t manage to destroy the Fantasy Planet, he did make good his escape. Now it’s up to Captain Don Harr and his strange crew of androids and cavemen—excuse me, Early Evolved Humanoids—to find Veli and render him harmless—preferably by killing him.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, there’s drama over whether Interim

Former Lord Overseer Veil is on the run. It's up to the crew of the Reluctant to track him down.

Join the crew on their search for Veli. They might even find answers to some of the age old questions of the universe such as "what really happened to the dinosaurs"? and "How did life on Earth begin"?

The latest in the madcap world of platoon F. There's a lot of plot in the other reviews, so I won't bother. But if you haven't spent any time with Logsdon (and in this series, Young) I highly recommend it.This is high burlesque at it's best, paced like a Marx Brothers skit, and as full of sophomoric humor as the Lampoon. But no, this is not Douglass Adamss (I like esses, sso ssue me) meets Discworld. More like John Belushi meets Lenny Bruce and Howard Stern, and takes them to Mark Twain's Bar an ...more

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I can honestly say this book, like the previous volumes in the series, had me laughing out loud in places.

Not for the easily offended or overly “PC” reader, John and Chris have done it again with some great plot twists and witty (and very down to earth) humour. In their 9th adventure, this time the crew of the SSMC Reluctant are pursuing the former Lord Overseer Veli through time and space while having some hilari

Only Platoon F can save the Universe

To save themselves, as well as the rest of the universe, Platoon F must go searching through time and space for the dinosaur who has ruled the universe for millennia. It's another dirty job, and only Platoon F is up to the challenge.

If you are easily offended, then do us all a favor and just stop right here, hit the back button, and we will forget this ever happened, OK? Or better yet, buy this book and record yourself as you turn red with rage and march off to the review section and write your congressman and whatever else makes your sad empty world a little fuller.

For the rest of us, this is a lot of fun. I have been fortunate enough to go through this series of books and watch how both the characters and the authors prog

Platoon F keeps evolving. Simple one-note jokes are now complex characters that engage you and make you wonder what's going to happen next. This was the finish to a story arc, but in a Star Trek kind of way. You know more is coming (or at least I hope), but you are satisfied with the ending. If there was a 4.5 star rating I'd give that, but I think the next few books could start to hit 5 star quality.

The latest Platoon F adventure story was not a letdown, it is filled with humor, adventure, suspense, all the things I enjoy in a good book. The way the antagonist was subdued was a new approach and hilarious, but it worked and for me was the highlight of the story. Look forward ot reading more in this series.

A book of dinosaurs in science fiction genre. Early Evolutionary Humans and androids and Captain Harr (Don) keeping everything moving forward with lots of silliness, but an interesting story line . Mix in a bit of tension and a few intellectual gymnastics and you've got a great read. ...more

John P. Logsdon is a former game designer, producer, and software engineer who shamelessly digs into the deep recesses of his mind to bring forth oddball characters and hilarious plots.
