Misadventures of a Good Wife is book two in the Misadventures series by both Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt.
A year ago Kate Lewis would have said her life was perfect. She was married to the man of her dreams. They both had great jobs in New York and a cute little apartment. But then her husband went away on a business trip and didn’t come home. Instead she got that dreaded knock on the door informing her that he was never coming home.
Kate didn’t cope well. She is barely hanging on, even after a year. She has never fully accepted the loss. Finally her sister in law convinces her to go on a three week trip to the South Pacific to rejuvenate. But after they arrive and she goes for a walk on the beach, she convinces herself that she must be dreaming. Because her dead husband is walking towards her on the beach.
Price Lewis didn’t have a choice. They tried to kill him but he survived. Now all he had to do was protect his wife and that meant letting everyone think he was dead. But it’s been a year and he is barely surviving. He needs his wife with him, wants her with him more than to breathe. So he arranges for her to come to this tiny remote island so they can reunite and he can hopefully convince her to come with him into hiding.
Kate and Price always had a very passionate sex life and their reunion is no less. Let me tell you, these two did their best to make up for lost time. One thing I didn’t like, though, is that Kate both needed and wanted details, a full explanation as to what happened to her husband. Price kept feeding her small facts but not the whole picture. And he seemed to use the sex as a distraction. I think I would have said, no way buddy, you’re not touching this until you explain what is going on.
Still, though, after a year apart, these two loved each other with an intensity that burned hot. But Kate doesn’t want a life of running and hiding. She wants to go back to New York with her husband at her side, and expose the bad guys. The trick will be doing this and staying alive.
This was a quick read. And most definitely a sexy one. As I said, these two were pretty much insatiable. I was pretty impressed with Kate. She’s got a good head on her shoulders, even in the face of all of the danger she found herself in. And I understood why Price had to disappear. I just wish he would have been more open with Kate after they re-united and offered her a few more details.
This was sexy, and suspenseful I did enjoy it. I look forward to future books in this series.

Audiobook review. I was very excited by this blurb. I like books with a little mystery and action. However, there was something missing for me in the imagery. I use books to “escape” my every day stressors. I usually find it quite easy to imagine what I’m reading or listening to but I couldn’t quite get there with this book.
Price is not your typical alpha male hero at all. He feels more average than anything else, which I found good because it makes him feel more authentic. At times though, he walked the line with cowardice and that didn’t make him all that appealing. I think he needed more development.
Kate was a strong heroine. She loved her husband and she proved she had a backbone several times throughout the story.
I’ve got no complaints in the intimacy department. They were pretty sexy together for sure. The prose and pacing was good. The narrators were a good match to the characters. The tone, speed, and pitch were strong.
Safety: No others for the hero. Some intimacy but no sex for the heroine. No rape. Yes to abuse.

I think you all will be shocked with what I am about to say ~ I thought there was TOO MUCH steamage. It was pretty much a full on steam fest. Craziness! This dude faked his death and hid out for a year from some dangerous people. Now he's reunited with his wife and every other page they're banging it out. I know you were apart for a year and really missed each other, but umm, hello, shouldn't you be worrying about coming up with a solid plan to stay alive? Make plans then make steam!! Don't get me totally wrong the scenes were pretty good, but also repetitive. Also, how can Price get mad about what Kate did the past year with someone else when she thought he was dead?
Overall, I needed more plot and honesty with this one. I did not like decisions made or how it all played out in the end. Safe to say I wasn't feeling this one. Luckily it was super quick and only took me like an hour and half to read it.

This is a thrilling and super sexy read! It features one of the most solid couples I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Price and Kate have an unparalleled love that transcends the vows of "til death do us part". The story is sensual, exciting, and mysterious!
Here's the breakdown: Kate has a difficult time moving on after Price's assumed death. They were so close and so in love, she can't cope well without him. Her sister-in-law invites her on holiday to help her relax. While vacationing, Price shows up and she learns what really happened after the plane went down.
What I loved most about the story was the dedication these two characters have towards each other. They truly represent til death do us part and more. They crave each other and the steamy bits are off the charts.
I also enjoyed the plot. It was exciting and certainly kept me interested.
The book is the perfect length. I read it in one sitting. So that's a plus.
I only had a few minor issues with the subplots and Price not just spitting out the truth as soon as they reconnected. There's no way I'd let my husband get away with that!! 😂 Other than that, it's a definite winner!
I devoured this book! I recommend it to romance readers who enjoy an edge of suspense and bit of mystery.

I've been looking forward to this series for a while now, but I am extremely disappointed with this release. For it to be the second book in the series, this does not bode well for the fate of the series!
My biggest complaint was that the plot was CONSTANTLY interrupted by the fact that the main characters had to have sex! It went way beyond the realm of erotic, and veered straight into crazy! It was totally unbelievable to me, just how much they had to have it. The romantic suspense plot was constantly interrupted by this! Because of the constant interruptions, the romantic suspense plot didn't make much sense to me. There wasn't that much detail about the events, or why Price's suspicions were raised. This aspect of the plot felt very forced and thrown together.
I totally believed in Kate's grief, and the love that she and Price shared, but the rest of the plot totally overwhelmed this aspect of the book. I liked the characters to a point, and much preferred Otis and Michelle to the main characters.
Having read these authors before, I know they are capable of doing much better than this! I can honestly say that I won't be purchasing or recommending this book!

Okay, seriously...where do I begin to start talking about how much I loved this freaking book??? I could go with the plot, which was such a twisting, turning, amazing story of epic proportions. I found myself gasping at so many places, floored that this story was woven with such credibility despite its OMFG opening chapters. I literally couldn't wait to find out what happened next!
Between all the incredible story twists--and the true heart and core of the book--there is a love story so beautifully crafted an executed, it moved me. This is second-chance love at its most aching, angsty, hot, and passionate best: the tale of a man and woman rediscovering all the electricity and magic that drew them together, while needing it to KEEP them together. Kate and Price's connection is so tangible and beautiful, I savored many scenes two and three times.
Separately, I'm in awe of Helen Hardt and Meredith Wild's writing talents--but together, they take the craft of romantic storytelling to a new level of excellence. An incredible book. You'll love this!

So when she goes away on vacation with her sister in law to get away for a few weeks, Kate thinks she is seeing things when she sees a gorgeous man that looks exactly like her husband, heading her way. But it can’t be him, he is dead.
After a hot and sexy reunion, Kate wants answers, answers Price is reluctant to give. Their lives are in danger, and Kate had a choice to make. Could she continue to live without the man she loved, or could she give up everything and stay with him.
This is definitely a hot and steamy read. Kate and Price adored each other, and it was nice to see such a strong couple that risked their lives to stay together. I admit, I did skim over some sex scenes, because the mystery part of the story was intriguing and I couldn’t read fast enough.
I wish the story was a little longer and a little less sex (did I just say that!!), but it does have a sweet epilogue. I do recommend this one if you are looking for a quick and easy read for a lazy afternoon.

Kate thought her husband died in a plane crash only to find out a year later that he's still alive. Price stayed away for a year to protect Kate but he can't stay away any longer. The question is, will she forgive him and disappear with him, because the threat is still very much real.
I was surprised by this book. From the title I thought this would be a lighter story about a housewife getting into mischief. Instead these two authors brought us a fun thriller. There is a lot of "making up for lost time" sex in this book but I loved that Price couldn't get enough of his wife. You could see how much these two truly loved each other.
I'm looking forward to the next Misadventures book. Who knows what we might get. ARC provided by NetGalley.

3.5 SUPER STEAMY STARS
I’m so excited for this Misaventures series!!!! Each book are standalones and is written by a different author. I’m a mega fan of Meredith Wild, and this will be my first Helen Hardt read, YAY!
I would classify Misadventures of a Good Wife as an erotica because of all the steam that is in the book, but that doesn’t really take away from the storyline.
Kate and Price are husband and wife and are madly in love. They have good chemistry in and out of the bedroom, you don’t believe me? Just read the first chapter. Price gets into a plane accident which leaves Kate devastated, but what happens when Kate goes on vacation and sees Price again a year later?
Doesn’t that give you Goosebumps?!
What I liked about this book was that it jumps right into the story within the first few pages. I’m not a fan of major buildup and I didn’t get that with this one. I also love the tension and chemistry between the two main characters. If you are a wife and are madly in love with your husband, then you will be able to relate to Kate.
When Price comes back into Kate’s life, there’s a lot of questions right? Where has he been? Why did he fake his own death? What will happen now? All of that will be answered in good time. I would have preferred to have it all out of the way within the first day, but Price kind of evades the answers a bit and it takes awhile for it to all come out.
Price is a smart guy and very protective. I love his love for his wife and it makes the read interesting and swoony. There’s a lot of action in the book and I kind of wished the action was sprinkled throughout the book instead of a chunk of it within the book.
It takes a bit to get the flow of the book. You have the reunion, the steam and action adventure, but Kate and Price will keep you on your toes.
Overall, this is my first book in the Misadventures series and it won’t be my last!

Wow, this book was one wild and sexy adventure! Price died a year ago in a plane crash. Since then his wife, Kate, has been barely surviving. When her sister-in-law talks her into taking a trip to a remote island she reluctantly agrees. And then her whole world tilts on its axis again when she sees a familiar figure walking toward her on the beach.
This couple twists the sheets as often and as long as they can pushing this book right into the hot and steamy stratosphere. They are passionate and in love and each of them hurting so much from their year apart. When they finally begin to communicate the secrets that are revealed and the reasoning behind Price’s disappearance are completely understandable. Now they are left with the decision of what steps to take next.
The ending of this book is action packed and I could feel the pressure, fear and paranoia they were dealing with. I love when a book can make my heart race and Good Wife had my pulse pounding throughout the story.

When they finally begin to communicate the secrets that are revealed and the reasoning behind Price’s disappearance are completely understandable. Now they are left with the decision of what steps to take next.
The ending of this book is action packed and I could feel the pressure, fear and paranoia they were dealing with. I love when a book can make my heart race and Good Wife had my pulse pounding throughout the story.

Misadventures of a Good Wife is part of a series of standalones written by various authors. This particular installment coauthored by Meredith Wild and Helen Hardt is probably my favorite of the bunch (to date). It's got emotion, a shocker of a surprise, romance (obviously), and even a significant suspense element. I have to admit I haven't been loving this series...I'm DNF'ing Misadventures titles left and right, and while I still felt the steam content in this one was a bit heavy, the erotica/storyline proportion was much more balanced than others in the series IMO. I would happily recommend Misadventures of a Good Wife for readers who enjoy erotic/romantic suspense.

Price sure makes some delicious threats, “hit me again like that, Kate, and I’ll eff you so hard, you’ll feel me for a week .” I loved the fire Kate had in her, “I was thinking I wanted a effing cup of coffee! This isn’t a huge deal, Price. Everyone knows I’m alive. Did you expect me to hole up in here forever? We need food.” I liked this it wasn't what I was expecting it to be.

Okay, this one was weird.
Misadventures of a Good Wife was, again, weird. I will admit that I was a bit intrigued when Kate's dead husband came back into her life. Yet, the whole secrecy thing was just weird and rubbed me the wrong way.
Kate and Price had the perfect relationship/marriage in her eyes. They loved each other with everything they had. Until the day that he died and she just kind of slowed down. Kate did try dating .. once and it didn't happen again. She was in love with Price and was content with where she was at in life.
It also didn't hurt that her husband wasn't really dead either. The day they walked back into each other's lives it was like nothing ever changed. They knew how the other moved and their smut was on point. Hot and on point.
YET, this book was weird. No one could know that he was alive. There was someone out there that wanted him dead and maybe even her. YET these two couldn't stop making at it like bunnies. It was good but still weird to me.

Is anybody going to talk about the fact that he's crazy???? He's so possessive and gets angry that his wife kissed another man after thinking he's been dead for a whole year?????? Also this book was dramatic. He has to lie about his death and makes his wife joins him undercover. And he makes her feel bad when she wants to back out. What on earth did I just read. Also this book was basically erotica. Just sex for 80% of it and him dragging the plot by telling her that she shouldn't know his secrets because it's "dangerous"

I’ve been in a “back from the dead” kinda mood lately. I found myself in a pinch and needed an audiobook ASAP, and noticed this one was in audible escapes so here we are. I have received a few freebies from this series, but this is the first one I read. It was a fairly short, light read; it isn’t very heavy, but does have a mystery/action side plot that added to the story.
Kate and Price Lewis were living the dream: happy marriage; great jobs in New York; and a great sex life. Then, Price went away on a business trip and didn’t come home. He was killed in a plane crash leaving Kate devasted.
FF a year, and Kate’s SIL talks her into a beach vacay where she receives the shock of her life. There on the beach walking towards her is…Price-gasp. Price has been in hiding after narrowing escaping his death, because he stumbled upon an illegal company (Cybermark Enterprises) ran by drug lords. Although this seems OTT, this book didn’t have a soapy feel; it’s more of a “stretch to believe” scenario especially the ending.
I thought it was all just ok. I read the first few chapters, then switched to the audio. I was entertained, but skipped forward a lot, because there just wasn’t a lot of meat in the plot, and it was all a little dry. Price is not the typical H, he’s not an alpha, and comes off a little “chicken little” freaking out constantly. Kate is the opposite; she’s flat and pretty blasé about everything. She was happy, but not overly emotional upon finding the love of her life alive. She waffled whether or not staying with him on the run was worth the price of leaving her family, and life behind. When Price tells her that Cybermark tried to kill him; she’s pretty chill… let’s have sex. Someone might be coming to kill them… let’s have sex, then run. It’s all good, they can fight; she can save the day with her super awesome journalist skills, but when she realizes Cybermark was ran by drug lords, this was her reaction.
Acid rose in my throat, and my vision blurred. Drugs… Danger…
“Kate?” Price stood.
I fell into his arms.
Couldn’t see… Couldn’t breathe… I was shivering. So cold.
Fuck. Ignorance had been bliss.
Drugs. Anything went in the drug business. Murder was an everyday occurrence. All in the name of the almighty dollar.
There’s a lot of sexytime, but I didn’t feel any real chemistry or authentic emotion between the two, so it was sort of just filler-lots of filler. Overall, I wouldn't purchase it, but if you're in the mood for a light, fluffy read with lots of sex, but not a lot of plot... then give it a shot. The audio isn't bad; it's narrated by Lauren Rowe, and Joe Arden.

What an amazing read that had me hooked from the beginning. Price & Kate have a love that no one can touch, they are true soulmates and when Price's plane went down Kate was completely destroyed. You can feel the emotions that the characters were going through as you read and it will completely tug on your heartstrings. Finding out the love of your life is still alive, Kate wants answers but she may not lie what she hears and the situation is far more dangerous then she could ever imagine. Great collaboration and great story that will have you hooked from page one.

I gave this one only 3 stars because the entire book was overwhelmed with way too many sex scenes. The actual story would have been better if they weren't having sex every ten minutes.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sex scenes in my book. And usually the more steamier the better. But this one just had way too many for this short of a story.
I didn't like the beginning of the story very much and it made me start to dislike Price. I kept waiting to find out what he had done wrong and that he would be one of the bad guys. But I did enjoy the ending and was glad how everything turned out.

**hands raised** my inner book slut is a whore and I love a sex scene all day every day. *sighing* I think all my holes hurt for Kate. This story wasn’t bad, I like it. But I felt like the sex scenes were fillers, and it didn’t flow right to me sometimes.
It went a little like this.
Kate to Price: I want to know what’s going on.
Price to Kate: I can’t tell you.
Kate asking more questions.
Price has sex to distract Kate.
And repeat.
I think a book can have all the sex scenes it wants, but when the storyline for me isn’t holding its own, then even the sex becomes too much.
CHEMISTRY:
I think the sex didn’t balance out the storyline, but I’m no fool, it was still a turn on hahah.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
Price’s sister seem a little Stedford wife-ish. She was also Kate’s best friend. They were around the same age, but she came off like a mother figure than best friend. She seems a little too animated for me, but still liked her.
Overall, likable story. But needed a stronger storyline for all those sex scenes as it came off repetitive at times. However, still kept my interest to finish the book.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

This one is hard for me to write a review for. It was good, the sex scenes great but the story for me was just good. I wished it had more suspense than the sex scenes. I think in one day they had sex 10 times. Like come on your on the run from people who are trying to kill you. I did love Kate and Price. I'm so happy for Kate the beginning was heartbreaking.

The only reason that I gave this book four stars is cause of not feeling complete with the story line. I loved what the girls were trying to do with it. It's was a great read, but it fell a little short for me. I wanted more of the plot twist!!
But with that said, I did enjoy this book.
Price is intelligent, and has a heart of gold. Kate is witty, and funny. She has had a rough year, so learning to live again was difficult. Their love never wavers. The SEX was super HOT, and I loved every minute of it. There is a lot that goes on in this book, and I don't want to put spoilers, so I'm going to leave you with this... If you want a sexy, steamy, and fast read with a fantastic island, grab this book today!

This is the second installment in the Misadventures Series by 2 of my favourite writers. I always strive to be honest when it comes to reviewing my top authors. I have no problem in saying that this was a delight to read. The story begins with Kate mourning the loss of her husband in a tragic accident for over a year. Her sister-in-law convinces her to go to an island destiny for what she believes to be just for R&R. She is shocked to find her husband alive and this is now an unbelievable reunion. As Kate is reeling from finding out her husband is now alive, she now had to question her husband as to why he has been keeping secrets from her all this time. As the story unravels we journey with the husband and wife as we learn the reasons why he stayed away for a year and also all the risks he has taken to be with his wife. Will love conquer all? You will have to read to find out all the answers. I recommend this highly.

Holy mackerel! Meredith Marie Wild, Helen Lynn Hardy-- where in the world have you been keeping this story? Now I don't know if these are valid middle names but when ladies in my family do something outrageous, we call them by their full name.
Misadventures of a Good Wife is just that-- I am used to stellar writing from both authors but this work takes the cake! MoaGW surprised the heck out of me. This book is a nail biter, it is such an intense experience.
Kate and Price have a love that can't be denied, even in death. The emotional rollercoaster these two endure is breathtaking. Every page is a new adventure. Many readers have lost someone, so for Katie to get Price back is the dream we all wish for.

Holy scorched sheets Batman, this loving couple was atomically sensual and I had to wonder what kind of vitamins they consumed to have such stamina. This installment of the Misadventures series was first an erotic romance with strong elements of suspense. Keep your fans on high and have plenty of your favorite libations within reach to stave off potential dehydration. The story was intriguing, maddeningly paced, and somewhat frustrating as the husband was not forthcoming with his secrets, although he kept promising to divulge them right after another intense session of knocking the boots. As irritating as it was to be kept on the hook, I couldn’t seem to put my Kindle down, nor could I catch my breath and my office seemed to feel unseasonably warm for some reason… ;)

I recieved an arc of Misadventures of a Good Wife from netgalley. I was lucky enough to have also read the first book in the Misadventures series and really enjoyed it. This one sadly fell a little flat for me. The was no shortage of hot steamy scenes between the main characters but the story line was missing. I felt like it was sex scene after sex scene and the actually storyline was over and done in the blink of an eye. Overall it was an good quick steamy well written romance and I still look forward to the other books in the series.

Overall, I liked this story. It had action and quite a bit of sexy scenes. What I struggled with is Price thinking that it's okay his wife thought he was dead for a year because she might be in danger. Really? You just let her suffer all that time even though you told your sister? I don't think that's right. And then he doesn't want to expose the people who tried to kill him, just run away. I liked Kate a lot more, she was understandably upset that he lied and didn't want to walk away from her life. They are a good couple and he obviously loves her, just went about things in the wrong way.
The story was short and the great Joe Arden narrates Price, so of course it was good.
