Jack is a writer, and like most of us, he has his share of demons. After the success of his first published work, he hits a wall. As deadlines loom and frustrations mount, Jack needs to find a solution to this cruel bottleneck. Accepting an opportunity to seclude himself in hopes of stirring the creative juices within, he descends into the great dark that is Wabasso Lake.

The story weaves between senses of dread and isolation, masterfully exploring the internal struggles of an aspiring author ami

I read Todd Allen's first book and liked it. I loved this one! The main character suffers from writers block and his attempts to get passed it take him to dark places. This is a lot of fun for anyone who has tried to write something and not had much success. Allen really ramps up the tension toward the end as the revelations keep coming. It's a thrill ride!

Jack Bishop is an author that received major fame from the release of his first book. But his second book is just not coming, no matter what he does. His publisher is about done with him. So Jack goes to Wabasso Lake, a place known as a writer’s retreat, and hopes to write his second book. But something strange is going on. When he discovers a lost manuscript things seem to go from bad to worse.

I loved this book. The prologue sucks you in and leaves you wanting more. Jack is trying to do whatev

I was very pleased when I received this book from goodreads.com first reads. I don't read a lot of horror/fantasy, but occasionally I do enjoy reading a good book of this genre, and this book certainly fits that category.
This book is seriously weird............ and in a good way. Also, very intriguing, very.
The story of the writer with writer's block is skilfully interwoven with the story on the manuscript discovered under the floorboards, and one cannot help to r

Jack has had a knock out of a first book!! Sadly, he is failing on his second novel. He just cannot seem to get it right. His publisher is pushing hard. He decides a change of scene is what he needs. He moves himself to a cabin on Wabasso Lake. This place is perfect....or so he thinks!

Jack is a character, I am sure, many creative people can relate to. He is always second guessing himself, expecting so much more out of himself than he can give. When he moves to the cabin he thinks this is just wh
