I had a grandfather and an uncle who fought at this location during their WWII service. Both of them were uncommunicative about their war years so their experiences were inaccessible to me. Although this book did give me some context, it was not well written and disturbingly descriptive at times of Nazi soldiers and paratroopers in glorifying terms.
