This was one of those plot-driven stories that I liked more for the plot and not much for the writing or characters.

The setting is after World War III and this dystopian world is now ruled by a dictator who has enforced a set of absurd rules, one of which is the compulsory arranged marriage that every individual of twenty-one year has to agree to. While Cali and Stefani, the main characters, are logically adamant on not letting their feelings reach a peak for anyone since it would all event

I wasn’t entirely sure what I would think of Temptation Trials. The synopsis had me expecting a unique read, but I wasn’t at all sure what I would be given. Thus, I went in tentative. It turns out that I had no reason to be tentative.

Temptation Trials mixes two of my favourite bookish things together – a dystopian society and reality television. Two things you would never think to put together. I would never think to put the two together, and yet here we are with a wonderful example of how the t

That's me while reading this.
I have never read a dystopian tale like this before! After World War III, a world-wide dictator has come to power. In this bleak future the people aren't allowed to make the most important decision in their lives--who to love. At age 21 the government matches you with whomever they feel will suit you best. If that person is on another continent, you pick up and go, leaving family and friends behind. There is only one way to avoid an arranged mar

The story really grabs the readers attention from the get-go. B. Truly does a great job being descriptive and allowing the reader to feel like they are immersed in the story.

I was surprised at how fresh and how many surprises there were in this story once it got going. What a wonderful job of keeping the reader invested in the story and its characters!

Characterization is key in any novel and I felt like Cali was a great main character with real problems that the reader can relate to. She was

My Review

First off let me just say wow!  Just WOW!  This book is definitely  not what I was expecting.  I got to say this book made me mad a bit. The backdrop of this story is the world after World War III has ravaged the lands.  The world is now sectioned off and ruled by the Regime.  Life as we now know it is no more.  No more music, live bands, parties, movies, socialization as we know it is over and frowned upon.  At the age of 21 your husband/wife is chosen for you.  You are not allowed to

Temptation Trials Part I by B. Truly is the first book I've read by this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However the blurb really appealed to me so I was eager to pick this up.

This book is set in what became of the world after World War III. There is one dictator ruling the entire world and that in itself is mighty scary. One of the laws in this new world is that everyone reaching the age of 21 is automatically entered into an arranged marriage by the government.

Cali has accepted the fa

Temptation is correct. I think that was a great theme that shown through in everything aspect of this novel.

I enjoyed the fact that it had a Hunger Games feel to it with the reality tv show. It really plays on the fact that even we today get such a kick out of watching real people.

Love or Lust. How hard do you fight for what you believe? Is it worth the possible sacrifice?

I'm going to start with the setting, I really enjoyed the fact that it was easy to picture with the wonderful descriptions the author used.
I like that both the title and the cover encompass seduction. and temptation. For the most part I think the author managed to write a pretty authentic novel about it.

I liked the diversity of the novel. It pulls together Dystopian and Romance which are executed well and come together seamlessly.

It did take a while for the action to begin and the story to un

Firstly , I'm going to admit I loved how the author experimented with the genres . She just went there and mixed a few genres and tried to make a new formula . In my mind , I was imagining she was in her white coat pouring different chemicals into test tubes , trying to figure out a complex compound lol .

So needless to say , I was hooked by the oddity of the genre . It had romance , sci-fi , reality TV fiction..and a weird dystopian world where the Government chooses who you get married to . It

B Truly’s Temptation Trails is a trip into the future with the insanity of reality TV thrown in. The struggle between Cali and Stefani over Kincade creates quiet a dilemma. Is the weak flesh stronger than the moral mind? The ending was very good; I enjoyed this read very much!

The Temptation Trials Part I is a romance/dystopian book set during 2036, post-World War III, in a dictatorial society where people are forced into arranged marriage after they turn twenty-one. The plot follows our two MCs Cali, and Stefani, as they fall in love with two men and ultimately both decide to enter the highly scandalous Temptation Trials: a reality show where couples compete, in order to prove the validity of their love, to be allowed to marry. The problem is no couple has ever won t ...more

Review Temptation Trials Part 1 is a mix of Bachelor in Paradise and a sprinkle of The Handmaid's Tale. The world Cali and Stefani live in is full of rules. The government for the world is one order with controlled News and entertainment. The hottest thing on television (there are no movies, but books seem safe) is the Temptation Trials. Why would anyone want their love tested by the government and basically broadcast their humiliat

After World War III the world is now controlled by a dictatorship. This dictatorship controls everyone’s lives including who they will love. The only exception to this is if you are willing to take part in a reality television show called Temptation Trials. Essentially the couple get split up on separate islands full of sexy people that are trying to get you to cheat on your love. But this is no simple test of love, you have to date and raging hormones are not going to help keep you true to your ...more

Temptation Trials by B Truly is one of the more unique dystopian novels I've read. After World War III, the earth is united under a global dictatorship with strict rules governing all aspects of life. While dating is not forbidden, falling in love has its consequences. At the age of twenty-one, spouses are assigned. They may be in the same city or half-way across the world, it doesn't matter. There is one way to escape the arranged marriage though.

Hooked, completely and utterly. I couldn't stop reading. The Temptation Trials is a reality show that destroys peoples lives. What the ultimate reason for that is we don't know and that intrigue keeps you addicted. I have so many questions and I have to wait till December for answers?!

The dystopian world created by B Truly is restrictive and controlled. I wish there was more on certain aspects, such as Tobias FBI style job. After the initial action at the beginning things slow down considerably

The world B. Truly has created was vivid and imaginative, she really succeeds in drawing the reader in from the very start.

There were so many deeper levels to this story. The plot was fast paced and had plenty of twists along the way.

The Dystopian aspect was very well done, I could picture it clearly. She doesn't rely on her readers simply being familiar with the atmosphere, she makes sure they can picture it for themselves.

This story managed to surprise me several times as well.

Thanks to the author and Samantha March of Chicklit for an e-ARC of this book.

This book was enjoyable. It reminded me of some of the reality TV shows appearing now. The temptation trials is a place where loved ones under 21 could challenge their true love to their partner. After they are accepted into the show, they are separated and sent to different islands surrounded by the most beautiful opposite sex to tempt their faithfulness to their loved one. I have rarely given a book five stars but this one deserves it.
A dystopian novel about a post World War III era, in the not too distant future. The world is utterly changed and under one government and leadership. The world's population under complete control by stringent laws controlling every aspect of their lives.

This story had me completely enthralled; I would highly recommend it to everyone enjoying this génre of writing.

This is a new series from an Author I have read many books from before. I was excited to jump into this new world, and what an imaginative one it was. I loved the plot and theme of the novel. I loved the forbidden love aspect, those are always my favorite.
The action was definitely present right along with the romance. I loved the way that Kendra still managed to make it light-hearted.
Be prepared you will be wanting the next installment as soon as you finish this one. A great first!

Since the aftermath of World War III the moral code has been One domain ... One accord … One nation. The world must now follow a world dictatorship that controls every aspect of their lives even their hearts. When you turn twenty one your spouse is chosen for you and you must pack up your bags and leave family and friends behind maybe never to see them again. Will unless you are lucky and your chosen one lives on the same continent as you do if not well then I guess it is adios amigo.

This is an Adult Dystopian Romance with the emphasis on romance. If you are a fan of reality TV you will love this book!

The book sets the scene by telling you it is post WW3 and a regime has taken over and now rules the whole world. The world is split up into three continents with wastelands throughout. This regime has a tight grip over society taking away bands and music and providing arranged marriages at the age of 21. It didn't matter if you wanted it or not. There is only one way out of th

Temptation Trials is a well written book by B. Truly. It is a unique concept that follows 2 couples who will do everything to be together. Sadly in this post World War III world there are only arranged marriages and no more love marriages, except if you can survive the temptation trials. They finally decide that it is their only hope.

The book follows a good pace and has some twists hidden within, however some were to me at least a tad obvious and I did see them coming. There was one, that I was

I get how great a concept this is, it just wasn't for me. The dialogue was odd, and didn't flow which kills it for me when I'm reading and have to abruptly stop because of some ill placed or wack phrase. I also have an issue with smart characters making stupid choices, I guess that defines reality TV. So the author did a good job with portraying reality TV contestant's correctly. If you like reality TV with a little dystopian this will work for you.

When I read the blurb for Temptation Trials, I had to grab this book. I enjoy reading dystopian and I enjoy reading romance. So I figured that I would like this book. And I did, up until Cali and Stephani went on the Temptation Trials with their boyfriends. I couldn’t get into the book after that. I felt that love triangle, and I can’t believe I am going to say this, sex took over the plot. And not in a good way.

The following is my review for The Temptation Trials Part 1 by B Truly. It could contain some minor spoilers for those who like their summaries short and sweet.

The time is the not so distant future. The land and population has been decimated by World War III and the world government is now a dictatorship. The economy is bad and personal rights are limited. Music and social gatherings have been outlawed and marriage is now arranged by the dictator on an individual's 21st birthday. The story begin

The Temptation Trials has such an interesting concept, one that I haven't come across before. In the new world, you are arranged to be married to someone that the government picks for you. Unless you decide to enter the Temptation Trials where they tempt you with others to see how much you really love your significant other. It's a crazy thing to fathom.

At first glance, this is not the kind of book I'd usually choose to read because I have little fondness for reading about romance and lust and all that sort of thing and the description leaves no doubt that this book is all about that. On the other hand, I love dystopian and I'm always interested to see what concepts authors can come up with in this subgenre. Also, I admit it, I do like a fair amount of reality TV so why not give it a try?

The best part of dystopian stories is the slight sense of reality in the storyline. And with as crazy as the world seems these days, it's almost like watching the aftermath of a car accident; ya know you shouldn't, but you can't help but slow down and stare as you drive by. The storyline for this book is great. A pair of new adult girls hook up with a pair of hot new adult rebels and join together to fight the good fight. The author uses a dual POV and does a good job distinguishing between the ...more
