Probably one of many similar books with some benchmarking and a vision for a better society that has got an interesting twist 20 years after it was published. Nowadays one can look up for results of some of the praised practices. Not all of them managed to deliver. Which does not neccessarily mean the premises were wrong. Maybe the streams of the times were just too strong for those good practices to work completely. Which leads to yet another Smith's book titled Who stole American Dream publish ...more

I read this in a class at University of Richmond--amazing book that discusses how much of what we do in our country has become obsolete, and how by measuring ourselves against our competitors, we can work together to be the best we can possibly be by changing our education system and the way we approach the world of work.
