I had a good half hour flick through this at the recent Anarchist Bookfair in London. Whilst I appreciate the effort taken to compile the readings within, I was quite disappointed to find that it was little more than a collection of works (most readily available) with very little original analysis / content. I had high hopes for this book but couldn't help feeling that this was something of a wasted opportunity to bury Bolshevist triumphalist revisionism once and for all.
Bloodstained is a excellent collection of essays critiquing various aspects of the Russian Revolution. It should be noted that the essays are previously published, but not always easy to find. This collection is most useful to anyone new to the literature on the revolution and interested in the far left/anarchist critique.
