FROM BESTSELLING GAY ROMANCE AUTHOR SEAN MICHAEL Book three in the Rainbow Island series
Come to Rainbow Island, where all your sexual fantasies will come true.
James, Guard and Damien continue to grant the sexual fantasies of their clients, but so far have been unable to make Rainbow Island work for their own relationship. Damien misses being home more often with his lovers and Guard has been working on breaking down James’ defenses. can they make their own fantasies come true?
As always, three different fantasies are granted through Rainbow Island.
Tim is rich and bored. A sometimes sub he’s searching for something more. Full time Dom, Rain, is brought in to give Tim the 24/7 experience he’s been looking for, but Rain has a secret—he’s been watching Tim in the club for years, just waiting for Tim to get serious before making his move. Can these two men find what they need in each other?
Mike has been hired to be a submissive. He doesn’t know that much about the lifestyle. He figures he can handle it—besides, the payday is too good to give up. Dom Brendan is handsome and confident, and the things he shows Mike speak to something deep inside him. Could he have found something more than just another job in Brendan?
Angus and Robbie are a committed Dom/sub pair who want to spice things up a little and see if puppy play is for them. They’re excited and nervous to learn from Sam, the puppy master that Rainbow Island has brought in to show them the ropes. They discover there’s more to puppy play than they’d imagined and not all of it is for them. Can they separate what they need from what they want and come out stronger than ever in the end?
Reader This book contains fisting, scenes of puppy play and the use of urethral sounds.
Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."
A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.
Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.
This final book in the 'Rainbow Island’ series was my favorite – not just because the ongoing relationship between the three resort owners began to really develop after all the issues Damien, James, and Guard had experienced previously. That is not to say that the relationships between the three “guest couples” were any less fascinating or hot than before. On the contrary, the three couples are very varied in what they’re looking for, where they come from, and how experienced (or not) they are with BDSM. It made for a fascinating mix of very kinky adventures.
I was torn between 3 and 4 stars on this one for two reasons. First, just that this stuff is so easy for this author to write, and maybe that's not really fair but when you've read your fill of SM, well any of you who are in the same boat know what I'm sayin'. Second, I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't more about the original triad: James, Guard, and Damien.
The premise of the whole series is a lot of fun and I recommend it for the nine vignettes about the couples coming for their fantasies. All very creative and executed in the style and quality I expect from Sean Michael.
Out of all nine, my favorite is definitely the third in this book. An established D/s couple wants to explore the dynamics of pup play. I really enjoy the non-insta-love couples SM writes, mostly because the others fall head over heals way too quickly and it always lessens the story for me. This one is far from perfect though, leaving too many holes in the story and areas which could have been explored more fully and (honestly) just better.
I still recommend this series, but now I'm positive the break I'd taken from Sean Michael is warranted and I'm giving myself permission to leave it at that.
Okay, I read #2 long time ago, then I read this one because it promised a resolution to the three guys story and I do have a curiousity about puppy play but I ended up being more interested in the dom who had 3 puppies than the main couple. (Then I went and read #1 hoping it would explain the three guys - which it didn't)
Skim skim skim. Same language in every stinking story. They all use the same terms for the same activities. More fisting as signs of true love again. Blah. I'm afraid I'm always going "I don't think that's healthy." I'm pretty sure you can't wear a plug 24/7/365. What if you actually have to go to the bathroom and do they not serve anything but fruit with the odd omelet on this island? When they bother to even eat at all. And how do people sleep all night, get up and have a full-on scene without ever going to the bathroom for a pee. I'm pretty sure you ask 100 people and 99.5 of them pee first thing in the morning. It's a thing.
Anyway, the "resolution" was kind of half-hearted and weak but I guess I'm supposed to believe it worked. It was on sale so...

I love this series and I'm sad it seems to be the last one. Each wish was sexy and sinful and the couples were great together. As always there was steaming hot sex. My only wish was there was more with Jamie, Guard and Damien. There was some at the beginning and end but it seemed rushed, I had questions and wanted to why Jamie just had a change of heart all of the sudden, it just seemed too odd to me. I know I probably said it after every previous book but I would love to see the couples after they left the island, to see what happened in the real world. It was great seeing all the fantasies come true though.
I was thrilled to see this book back up on Amazon. I read the first two when the went back up and was dissatisfied to see the final one wasn’t available. So as soon as I saw it was I bought it.
It’s interesting to see different kinks that people have. I’m not personally into most of this, especially puppy play. But I love to learn. Learning about different kinks is fascinating. I go to the internet and research so much during and after reading books.
I obviously have to suspend disbelief to read fiction. Much of the activities wouldn’t happen the way they have because most men can’t get it up as often as they do in romance novels. And man some of tense men’s asses would be torn up with as much sex they get in the book.
But it’s erotica. So I forgive the author.
And it’s nice to see the coming together of Guard, Damien, and James. I liked the closure for their relationship.
The concept of a pleasure island is intriguing. So much could be done with it.
Glad I could put myself into the world a little bit longer.
This book was written for all those who wanted closure on James, Guard and Damien’s story. Sean Michael is very upfront that the storyline for these characters needed to come full-circle, and that the reprint of the first two books by his new publisher breathed enough life back into the series that he thought it was time. Thank you, Sean!!! I have wanted the ending for these men for years! Honestly, the Rainbow Island series caught my attention right from the get go. The premise of the books, that there would be a place which caters to your every fantasy, I thought intriguing. Each book in the series gives us three scenarios centered around the BDSM lifestyle, and while the vignettes are hot and emotionally touching, it is the polyamorous relationship of the three men who run the island that captures your interest.
James, Guard and Damien’s story begins in the first book, so if you haven’t read books one and two, you will be a little lost in this one. We only get snippets of their past at the beginning and end of these books. But we have enough to know that James and Guard were Doms to their sub Damien. They each have roles in the running of the island. Damien is responsible for finding people to help fulfill all the roles the fantasies require. Unfortunately, it was he who’d found a man who flipped mentally, attacked James, and left him in a wheelchair. The relationship between the three has been broken ever since. Damien cannot handle the guilt, James cannot get over the loss of his legs, and poor Guard struggles being the glue to hold them all together. If you don’t know their history, James’s capitulation early in this book will seem too sudden. It’s not. James has struggled for years, and only in book two do the three start to turn the corner to becoming whole once again. I would have loved a good sex scene, though, with the triad dynamic at work. Didn’t get one, but oh well. I got a HEA, so that will have to do me.
The first fantasy is about Tim and Rain. Rain is a Dom who has been watching Tim move from one master to another, for years, never finding what he truly needs. Tim was an executive, an incredibly smart person who created his own company and then sold it for millions. Used to pushing and being the one in control, he has never found a Dom who could take him in hand, or that he felt he could give the reins over to with comfort. It took a little bit for me with these two, though by the end of the fantasy I was on board with their relationship, but the chemistry took some time for me to believe.
The second fantasy is Brendan and Mike. Brendan has been in the lifestyle for quite a while. He’s bored with all the regular subs at the clubs he goes to. He’s become jaded, somewhat, and truly wants to reconnect with what he loves about being a Dom. His fantasy is to have a sub who has never been anywhere near a BDSM club. He wants to know that whatever reactions he elicits from the man, they will be genuine and unaffected. Mike has always had a nomadic lifestyle. When Guard offers him a significant amount of cash to be a submissive for three weeks, he jumps at the chance. This second fantasy was pure Sean Michael. Mike is expressive, he approaches all Brendan’s wishes with an openness, both emotionally and physically. Mike is everything Brendan ever hoped for in a submissive, and the two men click on an intrinsic level. Watching Mike experience everything for the first time, even undergoing the piercing Brendan asks for, was touching.
The third fantasy centers around an established, married, 24/7 couple, and I will tell you this one was my favorite. Angus and Robbie are hoping to add puppy play into their scenes. However, the dynamics in puppy play turn the dynamics between Angus and Robbie upside down. Robbie is used to handling all his Dom’s needs; at heart he is a service sub, and loves to anticipate his Dom’s every need and provide it. He’s also very vocal. Angus has always loved Robbie’s voice, and the noises he makes help Angus keep track of his sub’s happiness. As a puppy, Robbie cannot take care of Angus. Angus must take care of Robbie—anticipate his every need. Robbie also cannot talk as a puppy, something he struggles with and causes him great distress. Great communication has always been their hallmark, but when you cannot talk, how do you communicate? This story was all about stretching boundaries and discovering new things about each other, breathing life back into a relationship that neither realized had become somewhat status quo. It was all about the trust these two men had to reaffirm with each other and how, even if you have been married a long time, there are still new things you can learn about your spouse. For these two it wasn’t about the puppy play, it was about the discovering of new limits and the journey it took to get there.
Overall, I’m glad Sean Michael finished this trilogy. Start with the first one and read them in order. I recommend them all. I feel I can let this series go now, mentally, that it’s come full circle, and I can bring the books back up and read them all again knowing I won’t be left hanging. Now, if I could just get Sean Michael to revisit those hot guys from the Drawing Straws Series….
James, Guard and Damien continue to grant the sexual fantasies of their clients, but so far have been unable to make Rainbow Island work for their relationship. Damien misses being home more often with his lovers, though, and Guard has been working on breaking down James’ defences. As the men move from one-week to three-week stays for their guests, can they make their fantasies come true, too? Tim is rich and bored now that he’s sold all his companies. A sometimes sub for the occasional evening, he’s searching for something more. He’s seen ‘lifestyle subs’ who indulge 24/7 and he’s curious to see if it works. Full-time Dom, Rain, is brought in to give Tim the experience he’s been looking for, but Rainier has a secret—he’s been watching Tim in the club for years, just waiting for Tim to get serious before making his move. Can these two men find what they need in each other? Mike has been hired to be a submissive for three weeks. He doesn’t know that much about the lifestyle but has been assured that he won’t be damaged and that he can stop the proceedings at any time. He figures he can handle it - besides, the payday is too good to give up and will keep him off the street and fed for a long time. Dom Brendan is handsome and confident, and the things he shows Mike have him more than a little turned on—in fact, they speak to something deep inside him. Could he have found something more than just another job in Brendan? Angus and Robbie are a committed Dom/sub pair who want to spice things up a little and see if puppy play is for them. They’re excited and nervous to learn this new aspect from Sam, the puppy master that Rainbow Island has brought in to show them the ropes. They discover there’s more to puppy play than they’d imagined and not all of it is for them. Can they separate what they need from what they want and come out stronger than ever in the end?
This was a nice collection of stories on the island. Whilst some were quite deep, others were a bit too superficial and focused on the person's wealth or lifestyle at home. I was glad that the two that introduced a new couple ended with a pair going home together/ I was also glad that the three men running the island finally found their happiness. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story (with an MM overarching throuple) with mature content with BSDM-like behaviours.

This is the third in the series - and finally the trio who have set up the island look like they may be resolving their own issues. Obviously you would need to have read the previous two to understand the background.
Each book has three fantasies that guests have paid to be fulfilled. The men do lots of research to ensure that the experience is amazing. We get to act as voyeurs as they get just what they wanted. The three latest wishes are a bit of a mixed bag. In the first one the Dom which has been chosen to fullfil the dreams of the guest has in fact been waiting to get to know him for a while, so it develops fairly organically. Also the power and money dynamic felt fair. That wasn't the case in the second one, and whilst I was pleased that Mike, the inexperienced sub got a chance to a better future, the dynamic seemed to be seriously waited in the favour of the Dom. The third fantasy is for a committed couple who want to investigate puppy play.
If you like little snippets of stories which revolve around their BDSM fantasies, these are enticingly hot and a fun read.
I love this series, but I found this one to be just a little bit of a let-down. The first two fantasies were pretty tame, and although I got a kick out of the third one (puppy play!) I was disappointed that the scene where they were socializing with the other puppies happened off-page. I also thought, if this is the end of the series, that there'd be more James, Guard, and Damien. I'd like to see just a little more of their dynamic, since I've never really figured them out.
All that being said, it's a nice, solid, Sean Michael kind of read, which I always enjoy.
This one broke the streak of first fantasy as best. I didn't love the first, but the second was delightful. Also, this book is my 3,000th...sorta wish I'd saved that distinction for something more erudite! And, since I didn't track books here until semi-recently, I bet I've read at least twice that number.
I feel like the stays at the island were extended from one to three weeks to allow more time for relationship development... and yet they were all resolved within the first couple of days anyway. Why?
I've been waiting quite a while for a follow up to the first two books and hoping we'd get Guard,James and Damien back together....It was so worth the wait.....All three wishes were great to read.....My favourite being the puppy play one....I love puppy play.....A great addition to the series x
Although this is one book (third in the series), it's broken down into three separate stories about three separate couples and there's no cross-over between them. There is also a story about three men which we don't hear an awful lot about but it obviously started in book one, so having not read the previous books, It didn't give me enough detail to know what was really going on with them. You would have to read them in sequence to get that.
The first tale is about Master Rain and his sub for the next three weeks, Tim (who has just sold his business for six hundred and eighty million!?!). It is Tim who applied to be paired with a Dom who could handle him properly and stop him from getting bored and the organisers have arranged these two men for each other.
The second couple have also never met prior to being set up together. This time it is Brendan who asked for a suitable sub and he is set up with Mike who is a newbie to pretty much all things sexual, not just new to the D/s lifestyle.
Thirdly, we meet an already established D/s couple who have come to the exclusive island in order to find out more about 'puppy play' and although this is not to be a full-time lifestyle for them, they want to essentially get tutored by someone experienced who can advise them on the best way to go about their scenes.
There is nothing wrong with the writing style and it's easy enough to follow but I found the relationships between to first two couples to be creepy. It is made clear that of the pairs, one half of each is very well off and the other has nothing. I often found their conversations to be uncomfortable and although I have no experience of this lifestyle, I didn't find them to always be realistic. What officially ruined their stories for me was the insta-love and the fact that these men knew very early on that they would be heading home to move straight in together. I mean, come on!! Really?!
The third story had a different feel altogether because as I mentioned, they were a long-standing couple wanting to enhance their relationship. I actually found this one quite interesting, unfortunately, this would be the one that was underdeveloped and lacked detail that could've made it so much more.
I'm sure there are many readers who will enjoy this but it just wasn't for me.

So this sounds like the final book in the Rainbow Island series. As usual we have three more fantasies but more importantly it looks like we are finally going to get some closure for James, Guard and Damien.
To all those who have waited for the conclusion of James, Guard, and Damien’s story – this one’s for you.
The first of our fantasies in Three New Wishes involves Rain and Tim. As has been the case with most of the couples in this series the men hit it off immediately – there is a definite case of insta lust or love here. Rain is an experienced Dom and has watched Tim expend all his energy on one night stands with various Doms over the years. Determined not to become one of those one night stands himself he jumped at the opportunity to spend three weeks with him on a fantasy Island. Tim is loaded with a capital L! Having sold his business he has more money than he can ever spend but absolutely nothing to do. Tim is bored and completely dissatisfied with the many Doms he has spent time with. Tim wants a 24/7 lifestyle but he needs to feel a connection to the man he offers his submission to. He falls for Rain immediately but what will happen after their time on the Island?
The second of our fantasies introduces Brennan a Dom who wants to spend three weeks on the Island with a submissive man who has absolutely no ideas or preconceptions about BDSM. Mike is a man down on his luck who Guard has been ‘watching’ for months to ensure his suitability. His one guarantee besides his pay check is that he won’t be damaged by anything that happens to him during his stay. This is what I think of as typical Sean Michael – lots and lots of sex, falling in love in the first couple of days and a descriptive text that describes how big and good everything is. Brendan likes his subs pierced and Mike is happy to go along. Mike sees everything he is introduced to as awe inspiring and he is pretty much open to try anything. As always there are declarations of love and plans for the future and Mike definitely left the Island with a more stable future than when he arrived.
The third and final fantasy was my favourite and is about established couple Angus and Robbie who have been together for ten years. They are married, madly in love and live a D/s lifestyle and are visiting the Island to learn more about puppy play to see if it might be something new to add to their repertoire. Puppy play is not my thing but I adored the relationship this pair had. Communication is key and they communicated constantly and adapted everything to fit their life rather than them fitting to the act. Angus was constantly aware of Robbie and his struggles and it was nice to have an established couple rather than a couple falling in love after a few days on the Island.
After three books I really wish more time had been given to James, Guard and Damien. They had such serious issues throughout the series with Guard spending most of time away from the Island and it seemed to have been fixed too quickly at the end.
I have really enjoyed this series. Each book offers three new stories as well as a little more into the story of the owners of the resort. While this one provides the conclusion of Guard, James and Damien's story.
In the first fantasy Tim is a bored executive. He has recently sold his multi-billion dollar company and doesn't know what to do with his time. He has dabbled in the dom/sub scene but lately that isn't providing the relief it once did. He's hoping three weeks immersed in being a 24/7 submissive will scratch the itch.
Rain is the dominant the Island staff hire to bring Tim's fantasy to life, but Rain has a secret. He has been watching Tim for years as he moved from one dom to another. Biding his time until he could make his move. He knows Tim was made for him, he just has to get Tim to see that they can make this work long after the fantasy is over.
In the second fantasy Brendan wants a submissive, someone knew to the scene. He wants to be able to show someone how wonderful the dom/sub lifestyle can be without the rehearsed lines and the posturing.
Mike is hired by the Island staff to be Brendan's sub for three weeks. Mike has no idea what to expect but the money was too good to pass up. Mike is a free spirit who travels wherever the next job takes him with nothing and no one to tie him down to one place. The minute the fantasy begins Mike knows hes way out of his league. He starts feeling things he shouldn't be feeling, things that can't possibly be felt this early in the game. Brendan will need to show him that the feelings are reciprocated and see if he can be the anchor Mike has been searching for to tie him down.
In the third fantasy Angus and Robbie have been in a committed dom/sub relationship for quite some time. They are looking to try new things, one being puppy play. The island brings in a puppy play expert to help Angus and Robbie navigate this new lifestyle so they can figure out which aspects of the lifestyle they want to incorporate in their own while leaving the rest behind. It's an adventure of discovery for the pair as they work together to bring their fantasy to life.
James is nearly at his breaking point; he can't eat, he can't sleep, he can't concentrate without seeing Damien and Guard in every thought and action. Guard and Damien strike while the iron is hot, reminding James of all that he lost and all that he can have again.
This story is hot!!! It has something for everyone. There is puppy play, fisting, nipple piercing, some bondage and a ton of hot sex.
I really enjoyed reading this whole series and waiting for the conclusion of Guard, James, and Damien's story was so worth the wait. It was great to see their progress from the first story to the last.
These wishes were just as hot as the wishes in the other books. I'm not sure how Sean Michael keeps it fresh and interesting, but definitely a job well done.
I know I'm greedy, but I would totally love a followup novella. Maybe a huge party on the island for past guests so we can see where everyone has gotten to.
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book three in the Rainbow Island series, but you don't need to have read book one, Three Wishes and book two, Three More Wishes to be able to fully follow this one. But it would really help you to follow Damien, Guard and James and what has happened to them and how they have got to this point in their relationship.
I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as book two. That was the best of the three and here's why.
The first two wishes are very similar, with a Dom/sub relationship and the third wish?? That was way off my radar and didn't do anything for me.
Tim is bored, and sometimes visits the clubs for a night of release. But he wants to experience the full lifestyle sub experience. And Rainbow Island is just the place for him. Dom Rain arrives to teach him. But Rain has been watching Rain at the club: watching and waiting. And now, he can experience Tim for three whole weeks.
I liked these two, liked that Rain had been following Tim, liked that they worked out very early what they both needed.
Mike has been hired to be a sub for 3 weeks. Dom Brendan wanted someone without any prior dealings with the lifestyle. Their connection ran instant, hot and deep. Can Brendan offer Mike more than just three weeks?
My favourite of the three. I loved that Mike, other than what he'd read, had very little knowledge of the lifestyle Brendan wanted him for. Loved that while Mike was bratty, Brendan worked with that. Loved that Mike was fully aware he could stop it all at any time, and was able to voice all his concerns to Brendan, and Brendan wanted to hear them.
Robbie and Angus have been together for ten years. They want to experience puppy play. They come to the island to figure out whether it will work for them.
My least favourite. Little bit too far out there for me. BUT I did like that Robbie and Angus took little bits of puppy play away with them, like the collaring idea, and the milking, even if total puppy immersion wasn't for them.
AND THEN!!
Dear Mr Michael, could Guard, Damien and James have a full book, just for them?? I still feel I missed a lot, and I so wanted more. I know, I know I said that in the other two reviews, but PLEASE??? Just to get the full story of what happened to James: the accident, the aftermath and them finally getting back together!!
Not as good as book two, but on a par with book one, so...
