Sharon breakdowns the steps for machine applique into easily understood instructions. I like her pictures as they illustrated all the techniques as she discusses them. She illustrates how to do them correctly and what can go wrong with the process. I found this most helpful. The patterns and motifs supplied in the book made some nice blocks in a soft throw as I practiced the techniques.

I found the tool list and the explanation of what notions worked and did not work very helpful. She evaluated needles, threads, stabilizers, and glues among others.
