While Mr. Issel had a great career at Kentucky, Kentucky Colonels (ABA), and Denver Nuggets (NBA), this book falls short of being one that illustrates situations in games over a long career. He spends time on people, relationships, fun lists, and other things.

Painfully dated (probably even when it was first published in 1985) but if you're UK basketball fan (as I am) it's worth a read.

Wish there were more stories versus just his opinions.

This was a great book for basketball junkies. Lots of stats and great stories. Most people don't know that at the time of his retirement, only Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were the only two centers to have more career points than Issel.
