No matter whether it rains or shines or if it is day or night, everyone loves to ride on the childrens train. As Loco Fun chugs along its tracks, its little riders learn to use their imaginations and singing voices as they journey to exciting places like the bush, the city, and the zoo.In this charming tale, a fun train leads children on a grand adventure to unexplored places.
The book is very cute. The pictures consist of children riding a train called "Loco Fun" around Australia. The pictures are nice and young children will relate quite easily. The words in the book have been turned into a song so after reading you can sing the story.
This was a goodreads win for me. My grandson who LOVES trains will think this is the best. The print is large, the pictures well done and it will be a good first read for him. The story takes place in Australia.
Basing a picture book on a silly song sounds like a good idea in theory, but sometimes it just doesn't work out as planned. While I know that kids often need repetition, and that stories don't necessarily have to make sense to be enjoyable, unfortunately this book doesn't have enough redeeming qualities in other areas to make up for the complete lack of either a story or engaging images. The right hand page is literally the identical image every single time, and half of the left hand pages use the same image just in reverse, and it isn't even an interesting or unique image! There is no motion, no character, just flat static cut-and-paste. I'm sorry, but I can't even give points for effort - this looks like it was done on a computer in an hour.
