Throwing Light by K.A. Servian Read first Missing the Obvious (A Short Prequel to Throwing Light) by K A Servian & Shame on Who? (Short Prequel to Throwing Light) by K A Servian Having read the short prequels to this main book really helped set the story line and helped me to understand the characters more. Jane Smith and Grace Southerland share the same bloodline but did not know each other at first and they do not realize they are related – step sisters. Grace believes the Southerland’s are her parents however she does not know they adopted her. Her adoptive father died first and after her adoptive mother died she uncovered the secret while clearing their home. Grace took time off from work and tended to her mother as she was frail and dying. Jane lived with very strict religious parents and they were horrified when she became pregnant at a young age. Her father called her nasty names and also forbade her to ever see the baby’s father and to give up the baby. This book is one of mystery, suspense and romance. There will be twists you will not see coming until they hit you suddenly. I truly found this book interesting and I hope you will to. Set time aside as you will not want to put it down while reading. These books are so full of mystery, suspense and romance. Enjoy!
A great book from a new on the scenes author! You are hooked fairly early in the book as we go on a journey of a couple of different characters. There are twists and turns and we're not sure what's going to happen until the very end.
Just as she's trying to deal with her mother's recent death, Grace Southern's ex-boyfriend Tom Reynolds shows back up in her life. When she stumbles across an aged document that makes no sense in her mother's belongings in the attic, Tom takes it upon himself to investigate and drops a bombshell into her life.
Grace sets out to find answers to questions that no one seems to want to give her the answers to and winds up knee deep in a 25 years old missing person's case that causes the past to come crashing into her present in ways she never expected!
IF I COULD GIVE THIS BOOK HIGHER THAN A FIVE I WOULD...
The twists and turns, the who done it and who you thought did it will surprise you.

I found that KA. Servain nailed this book . It was slow to start with great understanding why. It had the emotional heart behind, I found when reading THROWING LIght. I thought I was one step ahead of figuring out what happened...Wrong!!....The detail K.A Servain brought to this book was fascinating .It has great imagination and is an excellent writer. I would most definitely read this book over and over along with "the prequels to the book "Shame on Who" and "Missing the Obvious"
Great writing K.A.Servain. I would have given you a 10...

Wow, this book is full of suspense, a real emotional rollercoaster! Throwing Light by K A Servian, kept me on edge until the last page was turned.
It’s about Grace finding out she is adopted when her mother passes away, and her quest to find her birth parents. It tells the stories of both mother and daughter. They went through some terrible experiences but still found happiness and love in their lives. I can’t say too much about the story or I’ll spoil it for you, just know that you will be taken on a journey of discovery and intrigue.
The story is wonderful and I highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys a good romantic suspense novel.
"Throwing Light" by K.A. Servian is well worth the read. SO much going on in this story. I couldn't put the book down. Please read the prequel "Missing the Obvious" because you will read about how Tom and Grace know each other.
This is a really gripping story of two generations told in parallel storylines - Jane, a mother who disappears, and Grace, a daughter who goes looking for answers. The story flows very well between the two woman and keeps you invested in both characters right throughout. A fabulous second novel from this NZ writer.
