I’m Griffin Reed—cutthroat entrepreneur and competitive bastard. Trust is a four-letter word and everyone is disposable…except Britta Stone. Three years ago, she was my everything before I stupidly threw her away. I thought I’d paid for my sin in misery—until I learned we have a son. Finding out she’s engaged to a bore who’s rushing her to the altar pisses me off even more ...more

The d-bag H actually thinks this, after being with countless women, during his separation from the h.

"I love Britta, and it’s hurting me to know she’s been with at least one other guy. I was supposed to be her first, her only."

Can you say double standards?

When I finished book one in Shayla Black’s new More Than Words series, I immediately wanted Griff’s story because I had serious doubts that Mrs. Black could find a way to get Griff and Britta past the hurt, resentment and miscommunications.

Griff should be someone I don’t like - he’s arrogant, cutthroat and a manwhore, as you read his story you realize why he is the way he is. The reasons why do not in any way justify his actions but they do help you understand what motivates him. Griff

Mindy Lou's Book Review
I've read all the other books in the series and really enjoyed them. This one, not so much. I just couldn't get past what Griffin did to Britta 3 years prior. It's not as bad as what you are lead to believe in book 1 but it's still bad.

There is a lot of bitterness and hurt on Britta's side of things. I feel it is very justified, however I did think she took it too far when she try to demand Griffin into giving up his rights as a father. She does eventually agree that their son needs him, but I

SO SWEET!
I did not know how this hero was going to redeem himself after the utter heartbreak he caused.
But he persevered, and I applause him for that.
Felt a bit too draggy in the middle, but i loved how both the hero and the heroine learnt to trust again.

A manipulative d-bag hero that uses the word “bestie” when referring to his best friend. There’s a lot of things frustrating about this book, but the inconsistent characterizations were the worst.

Plus, the entire plot was based on a lack of communication, a pet peeve of mine. The hero refused to listen to the heroine for two minutes and then refused her phone calls for months and then has the nerve to bitch that he missed the first two years of his child’s life and now wants to play daddy when

Let me start my saying I read a lot, an average of 500 books a years. There are good books, great books and extraordinary books. The same goes with authors. Shayla Black falls easily into the extraordinary category. She is simply a cut above most of the rest of her literary peers. This new series follows in the tradition of Wicked Lovers.

Picking up from where More Than Want You leaves off, Griff is reeling after learning of the existence of his 3 year old son with Britta. The realization that he

God, I just love a second-chance romance that keeps me guessing the outcome until the very end. This is what you’ll find with More Than Need You, and I did love every moment I spent with Griff and Britta.

Every last attempt to reconnect. Every last attempt to show how much love and chemistry remained between them. Every last attempt to show Britta what an amazing father he would be. Every last attempt that Britta made to keep Griff at arms length.

Swoon. Yep, legitimately swooning over Griff’s at

More Than Need You , the second novel in the More Than Words series by Shayla Black is Griffin Reed and Britta’s story. Like book one I purchased the audiobook immediately after I finished reading the e-book and began listening to the words in Christian Fox’s voice.

I read a lot of books about characters with dark or damaged paths. As a matter of fact, I’m drawn to them. It doesn’t matter to me if it is the hero, the heroine, or both. There is something about the characters as they learn to t

This is Griffin Reed’s book More Than Need You. And what a book it is…Shayla Black has a way of writing that literally keeps me hooked on her characters, even characters that at first I totally disliked (Griffin). He is so redeemed and in this book I wanted to hug him and make everything ok for him. I understood why in this book why he was the way he was. This book is a standalone so you don’t necessarily have to read book 1 More Than Want You to follow along with this story but if I were you, y ...more

Oh boy this was even worse than the first book. Again, we have a very one-sided story with all the conflict in the book centered around the hero's issues even though the heroine's behavior was really bad at times. Yes, she was the injured party but that didn't give her the right to constantly demand the hero to just give up on the kid, even though he clearly loved his child.

The secret baby plot was really well executed, in that Britta (the heroine) didn't keep the baby a secret but at the same t

I've been DYING to read Griff's book ever since I finished book one in Shayla Black's More Than Words Series, MORE THAN WANT YOU. But let me back up and let you know that it's my personal opinion that you read this series in order. Yes, MORE THAN NEED YOU features a different couple, but a heavy dose of back story between these two characters show up in the first book. I think it's better to understand Britta and Griff's story if you have that element in the back of your mind. And both books are ...more

Shayla continues to blow me away with each and every book she writes. She’s an absolute master with words, has a way of turning a bunch of words into an incredible love story and without doubt it’ll swallow you whole, consume you for weeks to come and almost leave you breathless after finishing one of her books, and More Than Need You was no exception. I love a good second chance romance, and this book has everything and more that I love about them.

I knew I wasn't going to like the book from the moment we were introduced to Griffin in book 1. The exes and the sexual parters of both of them were still mentioned at 70% while, it took half the book for Britta to decide to move in with Griffin. It makes me wonder how Britta slept with him without having him to 100 tests for STDs. I ain't buying that " I was looking for someone like you in the faces (or pussies I might add) of other women" or the "They meant nothing to me, only you matter" line ...more

I've had this book finished for two days and literally had to sit and think about whether I could write a review worthy of it. I'm still sitting here trying to think of ways to describe how profoundly this beautiful, deep, complex, real, honest, and magical love story filled my heart and my spirit.
What struck me the hardest was what a very real and raw note Ms. Black struck with these characters. The root of the conflict, in which both people have been hurt and are terrified to move beyond their

I was looking forward to this book after More than Want You and to see how in the world Griff and Britta are going to come to terms with years of baggage, miscommunication and little boy.
Griffin is successful and a bit jaded. He believes he knows what caused the end of his and Britta's relationship but now things are different. He is different but it might be too little too late. Britta is finally moving on and trying to find a life for her and her son. She doesn't want to still love Griffin, s

- He never lets her even fight about it, he LEAVES!
- She finds out she is Preggo (we find that out book 1)
- He never returns her calls or texts

I was predisposed to not like Griffin from the first book. At the start of this one he was a bit too over the top to recitfy things now that he knew he had a son. The kid was 3 years old, a bit too late if you ask me, especially as Britta did everything she could to tell Griffin he was pregnant when she first found out.

I hated how Griffin manipulated Britta in a way to get her back and to get to know is son. It was only as Griffin started to tell Britta about his past that I started to like him

I love the bad boy who can redeem himself through sheer force of will.

This man was totally hateful when he appeared in the previous book as brother and traitor, but this is his story, and let me tell you, he's back with a vengeance.

Egotistical as ever, he rams himself into his ex's life to conquer all, woman and son, no matter what. I was rooting for him despite his ruthless ways because, after all, she's secretly in love with him and craves his touch and really needs to learn that her son's fa

Griff is always one to offer his lady help, “need help out of the tub?” I grab her towel. “I’ll dry you off thoroughly, angel.” Griff is one determined man, he'll even play dirty if he has too. Britta was sweet, a great mom and had a backbone when she needed. I liked this book, I am so eager for Harlow's book.

I really didn't want to like Griffin. I mean really arrogant, cutthroat and a manwhore, who would like him. But as with everything there is a reason for the way he is now. And when you read this story you will find out what made him become this person.
Britta broke the day she found out she was pregnant and tried to tell Griff, but she had to move on and become a single mother. She is finally where she wanted to be and really didn't need Griff in her life

The first book in the series, More Than Want You, had me a bit annoyed. The main character, Maxon, was not the best guy. He tried messing with his leading lady’s, Keely, head. As the story progressed, we come to find out that both characters are messing with one another’s heads. Throughout all the back and forth that is happening we get introduced to Maxon’s brother Griffin, who is the main character of this series. We also find out the book 1 about Britta, the main character for this book, Maxo ...more

~~I read a copy of this book and reviewed it for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second in the series, and although it is a new romance, there is some crossover of time, so do read book 1 first if such things bother you. It will also prepare you a little for the story to come. That said, it is a good story in its own right, so if you can't wait to read Griff and Britta's story.

Griffin is a man who has made some pretty epic errors in his life, and finally he is pulling himself together. Then he gets
