Rachael Tonks is a contemporary romance author with a love of books, and a particular love of the romance genre. As a child Rachael could always be found with her head in a book, but it wasn't until the beginning of 2015 when Rachael's love of books really took over.
Reading spurred on her desires to put pen to paper, and write down the story of the characters screaming for their story to be told. Starting out her career with a new adult romance novel, she is currently working on her fourth novel which she plans to release early 2017. Rachael lives in the steely suburb of Sheffield, in the north of England with her family and her 2 crazy dogs. She loves nothing more reading with a good cup of tea and is self-proclaimed chocoholic!

THE EDGE OF LIFE: If it wasn’t enough for seventeen year old Kailee to lose her mother so recently to top it all off her father uplifts her from the only home she’s ever known because trouble is raining down on him, and dumps her off on a guy she’s never met in a trailer park with riff raff neighbours who have a bad notorious reputation, not one bad boy but two, these boys come as a pair, a pair of hot tatted up twins.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Even though Jax and Ryder are identical, they are easy to identify. Jax is the clean-cut, less rugged looking brother, whereas Ryder, well he's rough around the edges, cares less about his appearance, but somehow manages to pull it off as a rugged sort of style.

Ryder and Jax have a bond that no one can penetrate, or can they? And always vow to have the others back no matter what. But when a gorgeous red head moves into the trailer right beside theirs all bets are off. They both want her but for different reasons.

Fists will fly...Blood will be shed...Lives will be changed forever.

These Blackheart twins are as different as night and day..Everyone has heard of them..They’re famous for all the wrong reasons..They are feared by all..Rumours state that they have even killed people..

But even knowing all of that Kailee is still intrigued by them, one she is attracted to whilst the other confuses and scares her. One wants her more than the other. But the other wants her for other reasons.

One twin fights and lets all his anger out in illegal underground fighting tournaments the other bottles things up and lets them fester until it all comes falling down around his ears.

Ryder is explosive, always fighting for what he wants. He fears nothing..
Jax uses his mind, instead of his fists to get ahead. He takes what he wants.

This is my first read by this author but throw in the cover, the synopsis synched the deal and I just had to get my grabby little hands on it and read it and god I am so glad I did. It’s clear as day how talented this author is, her use of words, her writing style all make for an effortless read, the uniqueness of the storyline, the ability to make her characters come alive and that all came into fruition when it came to reading that first chapter I was surprised how easily this author managed to reel me so quickly. I found myself not having the ability to put this down, most of the night my nose was buried in my iPad willing myself to stay awake for just one more chapter which turned into many many more.

The Edge of life by Rachel Tonks isn’t just about finding love in the most unexpected place, it’s about revenge, deceit and murder. This ticked all my boxes, it just had so much going for it, the two hot brothers, the angst, the drama, the red head who brought chaos and mayhem everywhere she went. This was a hard review to write up because whichever way I went it would've divulged spoilers and I wanted to leave this as spoiler free as I possibly could.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this book I can't wait to read more from this author.

ARC given in exchange for an honest review

Kailee's dad is a mess. After getting himself in deep trouble he sends Kailee to live with a close friend in a trailer park. When she arrives and things don't go down well she's frightened by the residents and doesn't know what to expect.

Ryder and Jax are twins vowing to always have each other's backs after suffering with bad childhoods but when the young red head moves into the trailer next door they're both attracted to her and things don't got down easily. Both twins have secrets they're hiding behind their gorgeous faces. Secrets that are so disturbing they'll spin Kailee's world and try to destroy her.

As the truths begin to unravel Kailee is left wondering who to trust and doubting the people in her life.

This has been an interesting read. Love triangles make my blood boil so I found it hard reading this in the beginning but as it went on and things became clearer I powered through it and I'm glad I did. It was a good read.

This is my first read by Rachael Tonks and it's clear to see this lady is talented, her writing is beautiful, the storyline was amazing and the character were all very unique.

This book is a powerful story about love, lies and revenge.

There comes a time when you read a book and you cannot help but be in awe. The heavens open. Angels sing. And for a split moment you feel as if your world is complete. This was not that book!

From the blurb, I was excited for a chance to read The Edge of Life by Rachael Tonks. It sounded wonderful. However, blurbs can be deceiving. I managed to get through fifteen percent of this book and had to abandon ship.

This book is poorly executed in every facet of the word. The author’s writing style is clunky and juvenile. The dialogue is unbelievable and unrelatable. The characters are cookie cutter and poorly developed, thus providing no depth for a reader to connect with. The pacing is dreadfully slow. From the first page the reader is inundated with redundancies and inconsistencies. There’s no hook to grab the reader.

And while I understand this is an ARC, there is no way this book was edited, even though the author later informed me that this book was edited by someone who’s apparently worked for some well-named authors. Frankly, I find that hard to believe. The repetitiveness of certain phrases, missing words, and inconsistencies in character development indicates otherwise.

I am so upset right now. LOL

I can't stand the heroine in this book, but I kept reading to see what was going to happen in the story. I knew there was something going on other than what we were told directly, but I wasn't sure exactly what it was. I got to the end, and it was a cliffhanger. 🙈😂 No explanations for me! 🤣 Now, I have to read the next book to find out what the hell happens. Fuck me. 😂 P. S. If this book intrigues you, you should give it a try. I'm not trying to say this is a terrible book. The heroine just isn't for me.

When I read the description of this book, I was really drawn into the fact that not only are there twins, but there is also criminal activity and I'm assuming so much more! So
I jumped on this book! I really enjoy action-packed novels, that include romance so I had a feeling that this would be right up my alley!

Kailee was definitely a very innocent young woman at the start of this book. The time she got on my nerves but towards the end she grew on me.

Jax and Ryder where to polar opposite's even though they were twins. I can't really go into detail without ruining the story but one is more outgoing while the other one is more intense for lack of a better way to explain. I really wish I could go into detail about how much I loved a certain one, but then it would be a big m spoiler and I can't be doing that now can I! (Lol)

I love this authors writing style. She is able to pull me into the story and keep me interested without having my mind wander onto my day-to-day life. This is one of those books that you want to read in one sitting because you can't get your head off of these characters and their lives.

I loved the darker elements of this book. I would classify it is medium dark because some of the details were very explicit and had me cringing at certain spots. The plot was intense and had a lot going on. We got three point of views while reading this story but it worked for the book. I never felt confused or that things were switching to fast.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The author did an awesome job with detail and had a fresh idea for a crime type romance novel. There were more twists and turns then a curly fry, and I never saw any of it coming. That makes for a good writer. When they can write a book so well that they can shock their readers, and that's with the author did to me and I can normally guess what's going to happen but I couldn't with this one. I look forward to seeing what is to come from this author. 4 stars #2OCCJD

WOW, TAKEN TO THE EDGE AND BACK!.

That was such an exciting read, I was hooked on and eagerly turning the pages from the words twin bad boys.

A bit about the plot:
When Kailee is dropped off at a trailer park by her father weeks before her 18th birthday with a man she doesn't know and a promise by her father to return you instantly know the odds on that are slim.

Taken under the wing by the Blackheart twins from next door, men with a dark and criminal reputation, there namesake proceeds them. Two men to tempting for an innocent girl like kailee. As the days progress Kailee begins to fall deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole as the dark adventure begins.

Such an exciting and thrilling read filled with twists and turns, danger, bloodshed, angst, hotness, lies & deception you name it, all that I love in a book is right her in these pages.

Another brilliant heart pounding read by Rachael Tonks.

The Edge of Life by Rachael Tonks
Kailee is abandoned at a trailer park by her father. Her next door neighbors are the infamous Blackheart Twins, namely Jax and Ryder. Good looking, well-built and covered in tattoos. Jax seems to be the lesser of the two evils or is he? He also seems to lay claim to Kailee immediately and uses his manipulative ways to make her fall for his charm. Ryder is the rougher of the two and he warns Kailee on numerous occasions. Can she listen or is she in too deep? Ryder is definitely loyal to those he cares about. Kailee is pulled into a world that is alien to her. The story is packed with so much and the plot twists like a hurricane. The story is intense and I found myself reading into the early hours of the morning. The characters are great. The plot was really good, explosive and captivating. Overall this was a great read, one that I would highly recommend

Twisted and sexy is how I can best describe this book!
The betrayal that one undergoes is something that can never be forgotten just like a loss of a loved one. The rollercoaster ride this book took me on was definitely one I was sitting on the edge of my seat for. I started this book thinking I was going to read some hot sex M/F/M and twins none of the less. Even though it was a triangle in the very beginning things moved quickly and I was able to power through to get to the main points of the book. Even though the twins are identical there really nothing alike. I highly recommend this book to the darker romance readers. I felt all the emotions and needed tissue at the end.
I cant wait to read more from this author.

Voluntarily read and reviewed for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this one.. loved the premis of it... hot tatted twins... and a bit of dark mystery & criminal tendency's... it kept you on you toes..
Kailee was a young & innocent 17 yr old high school student... had a couple of the best friends a girl could need... her dad had some issues so she had to leave the life she was used to and move to a run down trailer park with "someone her dad new" thats when she meets the Blackheart twins... Jax & Ryder..
Jax & Ryder Blackheart... identical twins in looks but complete opposite in all other aspects... both men used to getting what they want..
this book took me by surprise and I'm sooooooo glad It ended the way it did.. I do wish certain things would have ended different for some.... but it was still a amazing read...

All I can say about this book is a big fat WOW. This is the easiest Five Stars I've ever given. This is my Fourth Book of Rachael's to read and it did not disappoint me at all. This is definitely my favourite book of Rachael's and I have already confessed that to her!!

Rachael delivers everything that makes a great book. A great Story, Great Characters and both the Shock and Wow Factor and this was no exception.

Abandoned at a trailer park by her father, Kailee finds it hard to come to terms with why her father has left her there, but when she spots her new neighbours, the Sexy Tattooed Blackheart Twins Jax and Ryder she knows she is not safe living next door to the 2 criminals. But as she gets close to both and is then left devastated by an awful betrayal, she knows blood will be shed but can she survive?

A Gripping, Intense Story that had me on the edge of my seat constantly that I found it very hard to put down. I suffered from constant whiplash as I went from being Team Ajax to Team Ryder, back and forth and back and forth but I was so happy with my final decision ( that's a secret for now).

Rachael every book you write gets better and better, you don't just write me a book, you give me a captivating story that blows my mind and sweeps me up in the story. Another truly wonderful story, I just wish more people knew just how amazing your writing is.

Best book to date by Rachael Tonks.....

I loved this book it had angst, hot sex scenes, twists and surprises your not going to believe. I thought the storyline flowed just brilliantly. I just love how this author always I mean always throws a twist into the storyline. This was a fast paced read for myeslf because I had to turn the page or well just bump the kindle to turn the page to see what was going to happen next, literally couldn't wait.
This book starts with Kailee being dropped off at a strangers trailer (dad's friend) while he sorts out a huge problem he's caused to himself. It's so unfair to Kailee because she's the one paying the price for his stupidity. Let's just say the transition isn't smooth....
She meets the boys next door and man-oh-man does she ever. She meets identical twin brothers Jax and Ryder. One brother is just a little more rough around the edges than the other. We got one good twin and a bad twin but which is which?? Your going to have to read it to believe it! And don't go in thinking you know how this one is going to end because you as a reader is going to be floored by revelations and twists in this book. Rachael did such an amazing job of keeping you guessing until the very end.
I'm not going to give it all away so guess what readers you are going to HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! Definitely 5 STAR material in this one. Please check it out and give it a read.

This is my first read by this author but it certainly won't be the last bad I loved it.

Kailees life has completely changed and not for the better. Her mum died and her father drops her off at a trailer park with a stranger. She doesn't realise how much it's gonna change when she meets the Blackheart twins. They are hot, sexy, dangerous and criminals. Have I mentioned these twins are hot? They both have a different kinda effect on Kailee.

Kailee gotta stay strong when secrets are revealed.

I did think this was gonna be a different kinda read but I'm not complaining as I really enjoyed this read.

We get all of their points of view which I really liked. I'll certainly be reading more from this author in the future.

The Edge Of Life is a stand alone full length novel by Rachael Tonks.

Meet Kailee, a young girl who´s abandoned by her father. Left at a trailer park.
And there are twins, Jax and Ryder Blackheart, neighbors and nothing more, or?
These two are bad boys like BAD boys, both wants her and Ryder seems to be the dark soul.
But is it as it seems?
You have to decide for yourself, who´s rotten to the core and who´s only misunderstood.
This book has twists and turns I never expected.
Thank you Rachael Tonks, 4,5 Stars.

I loved this story. I also enjoyed the way she tied everything together at the end. It is a well-written, solid story. I wish we would have gotten a little more time with Ryder's mom and also a little more screen time with her dad. It made the end seem a little anti-climatic. Overall, I loved the story and can't wait for more.

OooooO I loooooove a good bad boy story, and the Blackheart Twins did NOT disappoint. There was danger, twins, sexcapades, guns, slaves, scandal, and a plethora of things to latch onto and take in. The entire book, start to finish was very well done and kept me entertained! I loved it.
 photo 5 Orgasm Button_zpsm0jqyhvr.jpg

And the sexy time scenes with both Jax and Ryder? Perfection I felt like an actual participant--which is weird I know-- but it's true. Mrs. Tonks has a way of bringing you into the story and not letting you back out until it's done and over with. And then when it is done, or you think it is, she hits you with another twist. Excellent! It was so good!

Highly Recommend! 5 Stars!!

Kailee's a teenager whose world is turned upside down when her father drops her off at a trailer park. She finds herself living next to mouth watering hot twins, who also lead a life of crime. Jax and Ryder are identical in looks, totally opposite in personalities, but they both agree that Kailee is hot. There that's it. If you want to know more, read this book. I read this story in one sitting, but there were a few things that kept it from being a perfect read. At first, I wasn't quite connected to the innocent Kailee, nor the twins, but as the story progressed, I found myself with stronger feelings. Rachael Tonks has a talented writing style that is original, and on some levels, dark and twisty. I don't want to give the plot away, so I know that I'm being vague. The intense twists as lies were revealed had me dropping loud f-bombs more than once, and there were some steamy sexy scene goodness as well. The ending was too rushed for me after the emotional ride I was on, because I was left with a some questions. But, I am excited to read more of this original author in the future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Edge Of Life was a book filled with twists and turns, betrayals and lies. I thought this book would go in a different direction when I started to read it and the fact that it didn’t surprised me in a good way. Twins, two identical sexy men, but just because their DNA is identical doesn’t mean they are in personality. Don’t always assume that what you see if what you get, you will be surprised.

I don’t want to get too in depth with this review as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Jax, Ryder and Kailee are well written characters and the way the plot has unexpected turns makes this a book that you can’t put down once you start. I overall enjoyed The Edge Of Life by Ms. Tonks and look forward to read more from her in the future.

I really wish I could give this book more stars. Can you say TWINS?? Yep I was drawn into this book from the beginning. I love the fact that although Jax and Ryder are twins they are their own person. They keep the story interesting is all that I can say without spoilers.
I found this book very interesting bc not many authors can give you so many different points of view without messing it all up. Tonks did an excellent job!
If you are looking for an action packed book with lots of twists in it and lets not forget about the hot sex in this book. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait to see what else Tonks has for us!

This book certainly packed a punch right from the start. I was drawn into the story quickly, flying through it and before i knew it, it was all coming to an explosive end. Rachael has given us a fast paced, action packed story, full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the last turn of the page.

Kailee was one hell of a strong character, she coped with everything that was thrown at her, she kept going even when things took an unexpected and frightening turn. Even having the infamous Blackheart twins as her new neighbours did not seem to phase her one bit and when both boys took a real shine to her, she took it all in her stride despite being dragged into a world completely alien to her.

What can I say about the Blackheart boys? They are smoking hot and Jax was certainly the more controlled of the two. However, he was manipulative and used mind games to get what he wanted and what he wanted was Kailee and she was drawn in by his charm. Then there was Ryder ...... oh my Ryder !!!!! I know I probably wasn’t supposed to but i fell hard for this man. The more feared of the two and known for his explosive temper and his fists, underneath it all was a more sensitive side. He is fiercely loyal and protective of those he cares about, including Kailee - he wants her but his brother gets there first, a source of constant tension between them.

Rachael has given us gripping read, a story that sees the loyalties of the Blackhearts tested to the limit. I have absolutely loved beta reading this book which is my favourite so far of Rachael’s books and I am sure that everyone is going to love the Blackhearts as much as I did.

“I will take a thousand bullets to protect this girl who holds my heart in her hands."

HOLY WOWZER!!! I just finished reading THE EDGE OF LIFE by Rachael Tonks, and now that I have managed to get my heart rate back under control, I can sufficiently say my MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN! In short, this book is a wild adrenaline rush of love and betrayal, raw, forbidden desire, and jaw dropping twists and turns!!

While I am admittedly not a huge fan of love triangles, I decided to give this book a whirl because I AM a huge fan of this author and knew instinctively that she would do this kind of plotline justice! AND BOY DID SHE EVER!!!! In a nutshell, this story revolves around 17-year-old Kailee whose life changes in a blink of an eye when her dear old dad, a small time drug dealer, gets himself into a bind and dumps his terrified daughter off to stay with his creepy "friend" Eric in a seedy trailer park in a rough part of town. Her new living arrangements put her in the orbit of her next door neighbors, the NOTORIOUS Blackheart Twins. These wild and dangerous bad boys have a nefarious reputation in town and are feared by everyone. Rumors say they have even killed people.

Though both young men have always been inseparable and are identical in looks--both are hot, heavily inked hunks with big, broad shoulders and huge muscles-- that's where the similarities end. There are STRIKING differences between the two. Ryder is dark and menacing, alpha and bossy, explosive and unpredictable. A part of Kailee is terrified of him...but the other part is wildly attracted to this volatile bad boy. She has never encountered anyone like him before. He has this has mysterious, brooding kind of sexiness going on that makes her heart skip a beat and her body burn for his rough, dominating touch. He wants her too, and she arouses a crazy protectiveness and primal possessiveness in him, but she is far too young and innocent for a corrupt man like him.

In comparison, Jax with his bright megawatt smiles, sparkling green eyes, wicked sense of humor and laid back personality is the less formidable of the two. Or so it seems. Kailee is powerfully drawn to him too...just in a different way than his hotheaded brother. This gentle giant treats her like a princess, gives her giddy butterflies and makes her feel safe and cherished and adored.

Both of these boys want her, both assign themselves as her ferocious defenders, but as the plot unfolds and secret revelations and dark agendas come to light, “Pip” is not sure whom to trust and finds herself swimming in shark infested waters that she may never survive!

This story wowed me from START TO FINISH! Rachel Tonks is a wondrously talented writer. The plot is wildly innovative and seamlessly executed, the narrative richly nuanced and addictive, and each scene is bristling with raw, throbbing emotion, smoldering passion and palpable tension that leaves you positively enthralled! Her knack for sweeping you immediately into a story and transporting you into the hearts, minds and souls of her characters is NOTHING SHORT OF REMARKABLE. There are so many beautiful and touching moments, big and small, that had me drowning in feels, and without giving too much away, there is one particular gutwrenching declaration in the rain that absolutely SLAYED me!!!

The character development is top notch. All of the main players in this story are refreshingly unique, multi-faceted and achingly real, and the story is brilliantly relayed via deep, three-way POV, which enables the reader to gain unique perspective into each character's haunting past, hopes and dreams, and inner demons.

I connected immediately with young Kailee who has been emotionally adrift and feels incredibly alone after her mother’s tragic death a year prior. And now, to rub salt in the wound, her crappy father took off on her and left her to live among strangers. She has an aura of sweet, achingly innocence but also had to grown up fast due to her unfortunate circumstances. And now to further complicate matters, she has two burly bad boys who are always around to watch over her and invade every waking thought.

And I flipping SALIVATED over the smoking hot Blackheart Twins!! They are so badass and macho and the things they would say and do made my toes curl!!!! It's hard to discern at first who the true hero and villain are in the story—if you would even call them that--because at different times in the novel both boys come across as cruel, crazy lunatics AND chivalrous, noble-hearted white knights. And that's what I truly admire about this author’s craft…she writes with breathtaking complexity and continuously keeps you guessing. Although on the surface, the twins are awful people who have done awful, unforgivable things, as their layers are peeled away we see much more to them than meets the eye. They have suffered through a HARROWING childhood together...which left them profoundly damaged and bound them together in heartbreaking ways. They have always had each other's backs until one tiny, beautiful girl comes between them, setting one on a path to self destruction, the other towards redemption, and ultimately pitting brother against brother in an epic battle that can only have one victor.

In closing, THE EDGE OF LIFE is a powerful and provocative romance that is packed with soul-shattering emotion, tinged with darkness and churning with dangerous, primal passions! I had heart palpitations and goosebumps throughout, and OMG that ending????? UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE!!!! So which Blackheart Twin --if any--does Kailee wind up with????? My lips are sealed but all I will say is to EXPECT the UNEXPECTED and enjoy the wild and crazy, HOPELESSLY ROMANTIC ride!!!!

Man that was... Well I cannot put it in one word. This was amazing,
hot, totally badass and one hell of a read. It is so well written and
has this flow I was lost in the book and did not even realize the
time slip by.

This book is about Kailee and. The Black heart twins. Now this
book deals with some criminal activities. Some of them really bad
ones too. This book also teaches that you cannot judge a book by
its cover. And some men can be sweet and some hard but till you
get to know them you will not know which is the bad and which
is the good one. And sometimes those closest to you can be a
whole other kind of evil. I was so ready to strangle one of the twins
but then he went and saved her and oh how I wished her dad to
a whole new realm of hell. That man was vile for what he did.
I have never wished anyone dead, but I would make an exception
for him. I know I’m being vague but I don't want to ruin what was
a great read. You know the saying don’t judge a book by its cover
well this book sure puts that rule to use in this book.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope
you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this
book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like
it when you do; they value your opinions too.

*** 3.5 Cranky Stars ***

This is the story of bad twin and even worst twin and a girl. Decisions must be made and those decisions will cost someone their life. Who to choose and who to leave behind?

Kailee is a 17 year old girl trying to be normal. Since the death of her mom her dad has retreated and started acting different. She's uprooted from her life one night by her dad and left on the doorstep of her dad's supposed friend. She has to live in this hovel and next door lives the Blackheart Twins. She's heard stories of their notorious life yet forms an attraction to them both.

Ryder the aloof cold hearted twin is feared by many. He's a skilled fighter and has no real emotions when it comes to his job. He's done bad things yet he cares very much for his mother. He's instantly attracted to Kailee but know's she's off limits. Zac is the more personable soft hearted twin. He pulls Kailee in and traps her in his web. He wants to rise to the top of his job and he'll do anything at any cost.

I wish I could have given this book more stars. At certain points it lagged and then it would pick up only to lag again. I had a hard time placing if this book took place in the states or somewhere else because words for objects and even sayings aren't words we use in the States. Also the constant use of trailer park started to work on my nerves. It was treated like it was the 7th circle of Hell and not all of them are that bad.

The ending just seemed to cram in some more drama and the story could have ended several times. I did enjoy the epilogue it was nice to see what actually happens and it made me happy to see it all wrapped up. I think with some tweaking this book has a very solid chance.

I loved this book very much and can't wait for the next book!!!

Kailee, Jax & Ryder. The Blackheart twins. They are extremely well known and not in a good way. They're the bad boys. Or are they?

Kailee's mom died and her dad has gotten himself into some serious, life threatening, trouble. He needs to keep Kailee safe and to do that he hides her with the Blackheart twins. From the very beginning she choose Jax. He's sweet and gentle and seems to enjoy her company. Sometimes things aren't as they seem.

Ryder is pretty much in love with Kailee from the first time he lays eyes on her. There's something about her that just calls to him. Kaliee feels the same but she either doesn't realize it or fights it. He's the hot head and the crazy dominate one.

Lots of things happen. The deceit is off the charts in this book. Who will come to her rescue when the people she trusted most are the ones that hurt her?

This book is fast paced and wonderfully written. I enjoyed it very much and can't wait for the next one!!!

Highly Recommend!!!!

The story opens with almost 18 year old Kailee being dropped off to stay with a supposed old family friend by her father. . . a friend she has never met or even heard of. Kailee is scared and confused and doesn’t know what to make of her new life. In walk the Blackheart twins, Jax and Ryder . . . adding an unexpected twist to what seems like an already unfathomable existence for the young girl who recently lost her mother.

Drawn to both twins, Kailee knows they are bad news . . . criminals. Yet, Jax is a sweet talker and gives Kailee the positive attention she craves. Ryder is more volatile and often lets his temper get the best of him, but always seems to be there when Kailee needs him most.

Will Kailee be able to escape her new living situation, graduate from high school and navigate her relationships with the infamous Blackheart twins? Especially when things are not at all what they seem . . .

Rachael Tonks did a great job of creating a must-read story that follows Kailee on her journey. Kailee’s character is unbelievably strong and independent, but has just enough naivete to seem like a real young adult. While identical, the Blackheart twins are opposite in almost every way. The author keeps you guessing as to where the true trouble and danger lie, with unexpected plot twists that keep the plot line quickly moving forward. You never really know who is a true ally and who has your best interest at heart until it’s almost too late.

4 stars!
