The final book to the Adventures of the Starship Satori, a new novel by USA Today bestselling author Kevin McLaughlin.

Since their first encounter with the crew of the Satori, the alien Naga have been hunting. The technology the Satori uses is a powerful remnant from a nightmare race the Naga believed had been extinguished eons ago. They will do anything to find the Satori's home, capture the ship, and enslave or destroy humanity.

At long last their hunt has borne fruit. The Naga have found Earth.

As a fleet of battle cruisers closes with the planet, humanity rises with the one weapon they can possibly use to defend themselves - the Satori. But this time the ship and her crew might not be enough to stop the enemy. It will require every weapon the Earth can bring to bear, and every sacrifice that humanity can make to win the day.

The stakes have never been higher. This time, if they fail, the Earth burns.

Good story well done.

Satisfying conclusion to the original tale of a band of talented friends crewing an ancient starship rebuilt for human interests.

7/10: Good solid read, something to get your teeth into.

“Ad astra, Majel. That’s an order.”

OK, so these are really quite enjoyable sci-fi stories. I'm gobbling them up, one after the other. They're not long, but they're action-packed, and I feel attached to the characters now.

But... (there's always a but, isn't there?)... the editing in the books is, quite frankly, atrocious.

I'm the sort of reader who can ignore most editing mistakes as long as the story is compelling. No book is perfect and I don't expect it to be. But although these books are compelling, the editing mistakes are so great in number that they detract from the experience of reading them.

I haven't given up on the series yet and don't plan to. But if you're the type of reader that gets upset about grammar and spelling (and even getting the name of characters wrong from one page to the next) then be warned. This series' editing has tested even me.

Great book in a great series: adventure, excitement, great characters & evil aliens!

This is the final book in a very enjoyable series about a resurrected alien starship and the intrepid crew that flew it on exciting adventures to the stars. Unfortunately, they run into some evil alien reptiles who hate all mammals and who try to destroy all of humanity. Can the Satori and her brave crew save all mankind?! Read the series and this book, you'll be glad you did?

Another great installment.

Another great installment. Very sensitive writing. I have loved the story to this point. I started reading sifi in the 50's so I'm an old time pulp fiction lover. I had read several trilogies, liked some, but had to be patient getting into the stoty. Kevin's style and skill had me from the first page. And then I find there are multiple installments. I'm in heaven.

Violent Conflict

The battles in this installment are more intense and vicious than the previous books in the series. Included in that violence is the death of a major character, and near loss of several more. At the end, the reader is left with major loss and memories. This installment feels resolved, though there is a sense that the story has not yet ended.

Another enjoyable story with the crew of the Satori. Good writing, lots of action, and a pace that keeps the (Kindle) pages turning. This sixth book in the series had a somewhat unexpected ending which I thought was the end of the series. But, I was surprised to learn that there are two more "Adventures of the Starship Satori". On to book #7, Ashes of War.

Exciting

This was the last book in the series with a introduction to a new series. With promise to continue the Satori’s adventures. There’s a much appreciated effort to round out the characters including the AI and develop depth to them. A good late night page turner.

A sad finale.

Kevin O. McLaughlin has written a sad finale. But, promised a new series in the same universe. I'm eagerly awaiting to read in my summer reading.

A great read

I read the earlier books a few years ago and this book provided a great action packed ending. The characters are immediately recognized and their multiple storylines were resolved in an appropriate manner. I look forward to reading the next phase in the story of the starship Satory.

Ending and beginning of hope

This venture in our space opera is battleground tested and sadly moving forward with victory and pain of loss as in all in battles to save the masses. The astera I s battered but not gone will further the mission to make him proud. Thanks Kevin McLaughlin has been a grand trip yearning for more.
