A Life More Complicated follows Josh and Corina, alternating chapters about “him” and “her,” as their individual struggles coincide and tells the tale of their ultimate redemption.

I don’t want to give too much away, but I’ll do my best to describe why I found the book so compelling. It truly is a raw, emotional story that tackles issue of grief, suicide, sex trafficking, and, ultimately, love, forgiveness, and recovery. So much of this speaks to me on a personal level. Josh’s struggles

This is the first book I have read from this author. Although I felt it was a bit long I did get invested into Josh and Corina 's story. This story gives you a look into Josh's life as he starts off as someone who has lived by himself for 12 years and has Asperger's and the change in his life as he tries to start living and make friends and the hardship it is for him to understand that life is a bit more complicated than what he understands. Then Corina comes into his life and then we are introd ...more

While reading this book, I really could feel the awkwardness of Josh as he had to experience the world around him. Lizzie definitely brought him to life thru the book a lot more than Corina.

For Corina, I felt a lot of pain for her as you see into her life as she was stripped of all her dignity and self-worth slowly and surely.

Not really the easiest book to read as it explores difficult topics but one you should read anyway.

Of course I like this book I wrote it, I would be concerned if I didn't! What I feel for A Life More Complicated is way more than a moderate pride or 'like', I am well and truly connected to it.

What is it about? This is my second novel, and it is a modern, gritty romance. Set it London, it follows our man as he takes his last steps, determined to end his life. When his plan is foiled he gives himself a reprieve of a year, and a bucket list to complete. It also follows our woman, beautiful, trapp

Life is complicated; there is no doubt about that. But, for twenty-nine year old Josh, his affinity for routine and predictability is something he relies on. Having lived as a recluse for twelve years, he feels bored with life, and believing the only solution is death, plans to jump off Waterloo Bridge. However, after witnessing someone else takes their own life, Josh returns home, ruminating about his past and wondering what this other man’s life had been like.

New Adult Book Club: #3/18 ~ A Life More Complicated by Lizzie Steel 6 28 Jan 28, 2018 07:44PM
I thought authors spent their days sitting writing avidly at beautiful desks in inspiring places, sipping sophisticated coffee-based drinks and oozing intellectual creativity. I thought once in a while they might go to a coffee shop, sit in the corner mysteriously, and pour their soul out in words whilst the chaos and noise happens around them. I thought authors were disciplined, working a set num ...more
