It would have to be the last book in the series that is my fave. It was a long and sometimes fruitless journey, but the storyline that started in book 1 is done. I adored Brandon in this book. He's a geek to his core, and his love for his sisters is limitless. He would die for them, and he plans for it. He's so brave in the face of fear, and his anguish when just finding love brought me to tears. Daniel was a rock, and he was strong and loving. I didn't love all the books in this series, but I a ...more

The thing I love about this series is the great balance between action, suspense, and romance. The other thing that keeps me coming back for more? The characters. This time around, Brandon was the one who captured my focus. He has his quirks, is incredibly intelligent, and is fiercely protective of his sisters—he’ll do anything to keep them safe, even to his own detriment. He keeps himself centered through repetitive mannerisms such as reciting prime numbers or moving his fingers in particular p ...more

Ok read liked Daniel as for Brendon not really, I found him rather boring.
Lisa The Novel Approach
Brandon Hoselton is unique; he self-stimulates (aka stimming) by using numbers. He is also holding a vital secret in his head, for a dangerous man. He’s recovered somewhat from an injury, and is in a safehouse with his sisters, Yvonne and Hanna. Brandon’s goal is to keep his sisters safe, and take down this diabolical criminal, no matter the danger.

Daniel Karnes is the Sanctuary agent who has taken over protecting Brandon and his sisters. Brandon doesn’t know how to handle the situation, what he

This is the exciting conclusion to the Sanctuary series. I’ve only read books 8-10 to follow this part of the story arc, and have enjoyed each one and the different romance pairings. While confined in various safe houses Brandon and Daniel fall for each other. There's some tingling UST as the two men resist this attraction at first.

Daniel, a former SEAL, now a Sanctuary operative is tasked with protecting Brandon and his two sisters. Brandon exhibits autistic traits, shown through his thoughts

It's weird being excited about the beginning of the end. But in hindsight, all good things must come to an end and Sanctuary gave a good run. This is one series I spent one weekend completing the first six books and I am going to re-read the entire series once again.

Secrets and Lies

Brandon had a date with the devil, and it will take everything in Daniel to keep him safe. The former SEAL, now Sanctuary operative was having just a ha

Finale...I think

Brandon is the last one standing after the events discussed in books 8 & 9. Daniel is assigned to guard Brandon and his sisters and discover what Brandon knows that might bring down Vargas and his child trafficking ring. Nearly the whole story is set in the safe house as Daniel & Brandon fall into sex and love but it’s pretty low heat overall. Brandon has his own plans that lead to the action sequence at the end. There’s always a bit of a formula to these stories but they

A great ending to a great series.

As a late comer to the writing of the wonderful RJ Scott, I was lucky in a way – all of the books in this series were already out before I was asked to review By The Numbers. I was a bit intimidated, wondering how I would make time to read the nine books before this one, but once I started reading I devoured them. As they are novella length stories, around 150 pages each, I was able to read them fairly quickly.

It's hard for me to write a review for just this book

A 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls

I really loved the Sanctuary series and the first nine books were all 4 and 5 stars…so I was a little bummed that this one did not resonate with me as much as the earlier books did. I am not sure why that is, but I think maybe it had to do with not connecting with Brandon and Daniel as much as I was able to connect with the earlier couples. I also think maybe it had to do with the martyrdom that Brandon was wielding, that to me could have been much easier se

I can't believe it's over but what a way to go out! Sanctuary is an awesome series that has had a little bit of everything in every installment and By the Numbers is no different. Brandon's determination to protect his sisters is what fuels his actions even as the fear settles in. Daniel may only be doing his job as he protects Brandon but he can't help but be impressed with Brandon's resolve even if he has no clue to the man's true intention. As they butt heads at every turn they soon become mo ...more

This was my first introduction to author R.J. Scott’s Sanctuary series, and it may have affected my connection and relatability to the story at hand, which was the culmination of the Varga case.

Former Navy SEAL and special operative Daniel is charged with protecting Brandon, a shy forensics accountant with genius mathematical and number abilities, and keeping him safe from Varga. The real reason why is referred to cryptically throughout most of the story, and Brandon’s sisters Hannah and Yvonne

Deadly Denouement

This one may be the final installment of the series because I did not see another couple of MCs coming out of the shadows for the next book. If that is true, this one is among the wildest, and strangest, in the series.

That's because we have an obsessive-compulsive semi-geek MC in Brandon (background on the cover), and a focused but also extremely protective ex-SEAL bodyguard in Daniel (foreground). The latter is assigned to protect Brandon and his sisters Hannah and Yvonne, in

This book is shorter than the last two and wraps up the Varga case. It was a quick read with little angst and not too much romance, just like the other 2.

Brandon is quirky and I’d be he’s on the spectrum…maybe Asperger’s, though that is never confirmed. He is ridiculous when it comes to numbers and puzzles and has a bit of anxiety and social issues. He’s super smart and really sweet but very shy. When he has a job to focus on, he’s unstoppable. He’s attracted to Daniel but doesn’t know what to d

A Very Good Read

Sanctuary received a hit list that Varga, was going to kill Brandon. They traced Brandon down and Daniel was in charge. Someone picked up his sisters Hanna and Yvonne and they met at temporary safehouse., Between Brandon's sisters following him around flirting with him and Brandon's crazy quirks Daniel would be real happy to transfer to a bigger safehouse. After they moved two Sanctuay men went to Brandon's house to find his hidden files on Varga..This book had action, suspense a

This is another amazing story by Rj Scott. Rj Scott continues to keep me on the edge of my seat with her stories. They just keep getting better and better I have no idea how she does it. If you've read the previous Sanctuary books then you definitely need to buy this one and read it. If you've never read book 1 then what are you waiting on go read them I promise you won't be disappointed. She has a talent for writing and thank goodness she's not afraid to share said talent with us. I promise eve ...more

OMW! This one made me cry... more than once! *headdesk*

But, dang were these two just too cute for words, or what? Brandon is a bloomin' math genius and Daniel is the hero up for the job of keeping Brandon alive... even if Brandon thinks he has NO way out alive! *silly boy* Daniel isn't walking away from him, bomb or no bomb, he will find a way to save his man! Aww, did I mention how dang cute these two are?

I am sad to see this series end... perhaps there will be a surprise in our future... Chris

The tenth book in the Sanctuary series sticks to the format of the previous books. Man being protected falls for his Sanctuary bodyguard but in the end, they overcome the bad guys so they can be together. I wish these books were longer so there could be more character development and a slower burn romance but I do love this series and will continue reading them until she's done writing them (I think this may be the last one though.)

I didn’t like Brandon, and the finale was a bit meh.
The overall plot in this series 4.5 stars, the only reason non of the books actually got that rating was the romance part, they kinda killed the mood for me, while I did like most of the characters, there was not a single pairing I liked or felt added to the story.

I can't even begin to give this book or the series the praise it deserves. Our of all the guys and the turmoil they faced, I think Brandon's was the hardest. The weight of all he was dealing with only Sean could truly understand and still not completely. I am blown away on how each book and the many steps the various characters made woven together so perfectly. There was no way I could of imagined when I started book 1 all the ups, downs, twists, and turns the story and my emotions would t

I cant believe we've got to the end, although it's done so well. Brandon has to protect his sisters ( who both need a lesson in appreciating their brother, in my opinion!) He goes to extremes. Daniel on the other hand is exasperated by Brandon's efforts. All in all an excellent mix of romance, intrigue and action. Bringing this series to a lovely conclusion. But.... a spin off would be greatly received.

Finally! After the previous book, Ghost, I was really looking forward to seeing how, not only the current story arc finished, but how the series ended and I have to say I was not disappointed. Brandon was met previously in the last story and it was pretty obvious he was in a bad place. I expected a lot of things from and about him in this last installment to the Sanctuary series but I was wrong about a lot and more impressed about what remained than I had ex
