The musical references alone made this book. I'm absolutely going back through and making a playlist of every reference and recommended track/artist/album listed throughout. From the not so surprising Danny Brown and Mad Villain to the more shocking The Mothership Connection and Coltrane!
If I'm not mistaken, there were also a couple of Dad's Army references towards the back that made me very very happy since no one ever gets it when I reference the old BBC wartime sitcom from the 60s. "They don't like it up 'em!" when referring to being stabbed by bayonets will always be funny to me.
The only heads up I'll give is a trigger warning for all kinds of stuff! If nasty filth, cursing, killing people with frozen pee shards, constant dick jokes and unwiped ass bothers you, don't even bother. Heads up for domestic violence, rapey situations, incest, and honestly I could just keep listing stuff. It's great art, just take care of yourself and be in a good headspace. :)
Also, I bought this book brand new and the pages already started falling out after one read and I'm a gentle reader so be ready to lose a page or two!
