Grasping and horrifying story about life in middle Europe in 17th century. Of course it means starving of some people if the whole harvest is spoiled by a late frost, but to blame, torture and kill people for it just because they stick out or are disgruntled by their neighbors is the major horror in the story. I don't know if the particular story of the book is absolutely true, but it is definitely realistic and typical for the time.
