The step-by-step format of this book is tedious, and if you're trying to glean database concepts from this, rather than learn specifically MS Access, good luck. By the end, the format is a little easier to handle, but it took almost half the semester to feel at all comfortable with using this book. There is not nearly enough discussion of WHY things are done, more about HOW to do very specific things. There is no attempt to teach any type of self reliance until the very last extra section in the appendix.

The exercises in this book are worded terribly, which makes it difficult to decipher what exactly you're supposed to do. I do NOT recommend this book for someone trying to learn Access 2007.
