A collection of photographs, combined with poetry and poetic impressions by such writers as Rainer Maria Rilke, Rachel Carson, John Muir, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, W.B. Yeats, Thornton Wilder, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Jules Laforgue, Robert Lowell, Robert Penn Warren, and Aldo Leopold.
A lovely little book that I had originally gifted to my Mom. The inscription reminded me of her agoraphobic nature ‘For My Favourite Armchair Traveller’. I am keeping it for the lovely prose and poetry by classic authors and the beautiful photos by Mr Heffron (and because it was Mom’s). #1373.
Poetic praise for historic covered bridges. I'm a fan of old covered bridges, and this photo-filled book effectively evokes the romance of the old fixtures of Americana.
