Each entry begins with a complete description of the conflict, including events leading up to it, notable commanders involved, strategies, troop sizes and strengths, terrain, and so on. And each battle is brilliantly illustrated with a comprehensive yet easy-to-read two-color battle map. Full coverage of every battle in each region of the country, including travel directions to the sites, makes American Battlefield a perfect armchair traveling companion and a reference standard.
Filled with drama and action. I found a new favorite book when the union finally defeated the british in yorktown. I am currently in the middle of the “Civil War” chapter. Can’t wait to see who comes out on top in this one.
