This is one of the poetry books I browsed at Fullybooked. I was hooked at first, the author has a good and easy writing style but it's getting redundant and the poems are forgettable. I don't know if it's just me, I interpreted this collection on what men desire in women. Honestly, I was taken back to some poems. It's like telling me what women should be to become lovable. This blows off a woman's self-esteem when it should be empowering.

A woman is lovable for the way she is. She doesn't need y

I was able to find a line here and there that I liked, but overall I found it to be repetitive and offensive. It felt very preachy and judgmental, stating more than once that women should wait for their husbands and stop choosing the wrong man to give our love or bodies to. I almost stopped reading altogether when the author said that women should choose men with the same pickiness that they utilize while choosing which selfie to post. Seriously not okay.

I hate rating books bad, but this book was insulting to me as a woman. Not only that, but the poetry was lacking and felt unoriginal. I was insulted by the female stereotypes consistently used, and if they were supposed to be comforting it did the opposite. Also, if you write about female independence, do not follow it up about pressuring her to be dependent on you when she doesn’t want you to. Very disappointed with this book.

I don’t even know where to begin with what is wrong in this book. But I’ll try.
For starters, the words the author uses to talk about women: afford a woman, pursue a woman. Since when are we objects someone may or may not be able to afford? And the fact that you are saying that if a man is xxxx is not deserving of pursuing a woman? No one, deserving or not deserving, can pursue a woman.

Another one: ask her to be yours. And again: no person is an object that has to belong to a

My mom and I read poetry together every morning. She lives in Oklahoma, and I live in Florida. I send her pictures of the poems and we discussed. We have read every Beau Taplin book, some Rupi Kaur, Michael Faudet, and Lang Leav. This one was a gift from a reader of mine, so I gave it a shot.

While I think there were many great poems in this, I wasn't overly impressed. The writing is pretty simple and a lot of the poems felt repetitive to me. I didn't really have any WOW moments where a poem knoc

That is s a collection of poetry  talks about woman in general, about her perfection and imperfection, self confidence, the inside beauty, true lovers and fake ones, the inner strength, hate, bitterness and more...
Poetry meant to be poignant but honestly this collection couldn't convey any feeling to my heart, it sounded plain and superficial..
I like some portions like:

And her fruits of love
Will come into fruition

I finished it like a piece of cake!

So simple for beginners to read a poetry, its sentences are very short and contains alot of pictures.
Although the book is very small but I don't recommend to read it in one sit as you're going to feel a little bored.

I didn't like his personification in making the woman an angel without any mistakes! She is just a HUMAN who can be guilty and wrong.

To sum up, it's a good book to read before sleeping ..

One of the most important quotes that I have heard from Maya Angelou is that; you may not remember the words people say to you but you will remember how those words made you feel. This book left a lasting impression of beauty in me. It made me to love myself even more and heal by writing.

“In a generation of people who want to be heartless, savages and empty of feelings, it’ll be hard to find someone who is what you need, but do not become like the world. Be loyal, be truthful, be emotional, be full of feelings, be hungry for love, be thirsty for affection and anything else human beings ought to desire. Let them be foolish and cold. Don’t dim your light to become as dark as they are.”

I don't really know how I feel about this book. Don't get me wrong, the book is alright, just not my cup of tea. Maybe it was a wrong choice but I wanted to give poetry a try even though I've always disliked modern poetry and thought it was nothing but Tumblr quotes.
I've liked a few lines of it though, the poet articulates his thoughts beautifully. I've liked the illustrations too.
But some phrases just didn't make no sense, I had to read them twice to fully understand.

There's nothing deeper than love. In fairy tales, the princesses kiss the frogs, and the frogs become princes. In real life, the princesses kiss princes, and the princes turn into frogs.
Perhaps If you wait for a husband and stop treating boyfriends as kings, you will no longer kiss the wrong frog 🐸♥️
