Escape Clause by Mary Billiter a great four-star read. This is the second book in the Resort Romance series, each can be read as stand-alone, if you like a sweet insta-love with drama, fun and a little mystery then you will love this. The characters all fir together and work well, there is someone for everyone including a sweet little kid that will keep you reading for just him. There is so much great detail in this story, and the way it flows is like being on the ocean waves, looking up at the ...more

Escape Clause by Mary Billiter is a story about love at first sight. This story is a steamy romance that will make you laugh and cry. This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed her writing style and her attention to detail. Her story will keep you engaged until the last page. You will also enjoy how she created characters that are true to life and connectable. I enjoyed how they were able to pull me into their world. This story even has a few twists and turns that may just leave you sit ...more

Escape Clause (Resort Romances Book 2)
By: Mary Billiter
5 out of 5 stars

The story Escape Clause (Resort Romances Book 2) by Mary Billiter is a romantic comedy with a bit of a mystery thrown in. The Point Resort is not only where Kelsey Donigan works but also like a second home to her. It is where she is getting a fresh start. Now she finds that the hotel is in danger because of not only greed but the animosity that two families have for each other. She finds the most unusual ally by the name of O

The story Escape Clause is the second book to the Resort Romance series. This book is a beautiful romance with a little bit of mystery wrapped into it. These two characters drew me into their story right away. I could not put this book down. It only took me a little over a day to devour this incredible book.

Kelsey Donigan loves her new job at The Point Resort. It is like a second home to her. She is trying to make a beautiful life for her and her young son. Kelsey is told that she will be teami

This was a fun story. I want to say it was very Romeo and Juliet due to all the conflict between characters but it wasn't.....
Kelsey is a young single mother who was shunned from her hotelier family and community because nobody believed that the father of her adorable son seduced her but rather that she seduced him (this detail makes sense when you read it, I promise) so she moves to the Oregon coast to work as front desk manager of the Brubaker Inn under Stuart. The tradition in that town is on

Escape Clause is the second book in the Resort Romance series by Mary Billiter. This is a sweet insta-love romance, with some drama, mystery and a little suspense. Ms. Billiter is a new (to me) author and I have really enjoyed our first ‘date’ together. I will definitely be exploring more of her work.
Kelsey Donigan is twenty-eight years old and works as the front desk manager for The Point Resort. She has an adorable six year old son, Charlie, who is the ‘apple -of-her-eye’. Having been

Escape Clause by Mary Billiter is a book that is a little reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet combined with Cinderella. Poor Kelsey is a young single mom with an adorable 6 year old son Charlie. Charlie is such a vibrant, fun loving kid that adores his mother. Kelsey has been publically shunned and separated from her wealthy family due to allegations that she seduced the father of her child when actually it was the other way around. Kelsey flees and gets a job in a hotel since that is all she has kn ...more

Escape Clause is the second book in the Resort Romance series by Mary Billiter. These books can be read independently as the characters and settings are different, however they are all set in different hotel resorts which I think would appeal to anyone who has worked in this industry.
The lead characters of Ollie and Kelsey are fun and interesting. They both have lots of layers to them which I really liked. The mysteries of their past are revealed slowly and the intrigue rises through the book.

Escape Clause – Mary Billiter

4 out of 5 stars

Escape Clause by Mary Billiter is a cute romance story with really relatable characters. This was my first book by Mary and I can say that I enjoyed this read; it had humour, love, intrigue, and just the right amount of drama. This storyline is original and I was always wondering how it was all going to play out, and I was very pleased with the end result. I really liked being able to read this story from both Kelsey and Oliver’s POV, it really helped

I read Escape Clause by Mary Billiter and I give it a 5/5.

This book is set in Newport, Oregon.

Kelsey Donigan packed up her son, Charlie, and herself to move from the California coast to the Oregon coast. Leaving behind nothing but unloving parents and bad memories she sets off to make a fresh start working as front desk management at The Point Resort. As part of a historical event Kelsey finds herself “keeping the light” in a lighthouse; where she meets Oliver “Ollie” Carlyle. After a late night

Escape Clause is seriously one of my favorite reads this summer! It was fun and light and so different than what I’ve been reading so it’s very refreshing. It’s almost like a comedy based of a Shakespearean tragedy Romeo and Juliet but they don’t die yet the family tension is REAL!

So Kelsey! She’s a young single mom and one who lives in the bad light. When people in her family believe that she seduced the father of her child and not vice versa she has nothing that holds her back from esc

Do you believe in love at first sight?

You will once you fall headfirst into this romance by the sea.

Kelsey is running away from something, and Ollie is drifting at sea… a chance encounter starts a domino effect of lust, miscommunication, legalities, backstabbing, history, love lost, love found, love conquering all.

Another good read by Mary Billiter. This might be the second book in the Resort Romances series by Billiter but the setting is a new resort in a new state with new amazing characters. This time we come to love Kelsey and Ollie. Their adventure, starting with the lighthouse, is one you don’t want to miss.

The writing style of Billiter will keep you turning the pages, just like her first book in this series. Also like in her first book, these are characters needing a little help. Life has thrown K

Looking at the cover and reading the blurb, you could be mistaking this book as a light romance read, and whilst it is about two people falling for each other, there is so much more to the story. A secret no one knows, loyalty to you family..which can often leave you feeling torn, heartache, mystery...this book has everything. The author keeps you hooked right until the end. I love it when books surprise me and this one definitely did. This is book 2 in the series so I am going to go and read bo ...more

Another amazing story from Mary Billiter this lady never disappoints with her amazing Resort series I've been completely hooked from book1. This story of Kelsey and Ollie brought us emotions of grieve and guilt that each character handled differently the loss of a parent and how everyone copes differently with the situations life throws at them, it give us an insight into the small coastal town of Newport and some of its fantastic residents.

Escape Clause (Resort Romances #2) by Mary Billiter was a sweet, fun loving romance that had my all gushy on the inside.

The second book in the Resort Romances series, like the other books this can be read as a stand-alone. Moving on, this time we are taken to The Point Resort, were we meet Kelsey. Trying to start over, she is a devoted mother and worker. I loved her character and felt like she really stole the show, well as much as she could when her son wasn't trying to steel my heart. No, he

Escape Clause by Mary Billiter is the second book the Resort Romances series. Each book is centred around a different ‘resort’, and this one focuses on the coastline of Oregon. We see the story from two points of view, allowing us to get a closer look into the lives of our two lead characters; Kelsey and Oliver. This is another great read; I cannot get enough of these resort reads!

Kelsey is a single mom who has moved to Newport for a fresh start with her son.
When her boss volunteers her to represent the resort, she can’t say no, he has already arranged for a sitter. I had a lol moment and I’m sure you will too. It sounded like my quest for a quiet life of anonymity with my son was about to be blown.

Oliver has always loved the stars and had bigger dreams than

When I started reading this I did not know what to expect. It confused me when the characters changed points of view and there were no indicators. But the story was intriguing. I learnt a lot about lighthouses that I did not know before reading this. I do like learning things whilst reading fiction!

I have read two other books by this author, and Escape Clause seems like it was written by a different person. Where I connected to the characters in the other books, I couldn’t seem to get into the Escape Clause characters until over half way through the book. Maybe my timing in reading this book is off, which happens sometimes.

The main thing I found interesting about this story is the long-standing feud between the two main families and the way that part played out. I feel like if there had be

Kelsey is a wonderful woman, very strong and independent. At first, I didn’t like how she felt Oliver was looking down on her for being a mother, but I think since she overheard a conversation she shouldn’t have there is more to it than that. Mary Billiter is the award-winning author of the highly acclaimed Resort Romance series.

Her resort romance series are romantic comedies because they are not only based on her life in the hospitality industry, but also many of the romantic misfires in her life, which could either be viewed as a comedy or a tragedy. But she'd rather look back and laugh instead of cry about the past.

In July 2018, Mar
