The advice and words of wisdom Latham Thomas shared in Own Your Glow are very much aligned with a lot of the other women and resources I look to for wellness and spiritual guidance (Francheska Medina of HeyFranHey.com and The Friend Zone Podcast, Black Girl In Om, Maryam Hasnaa, and the many books that have really helped me get in touch with who I am and how my beliefs fit into that in the last few years). As such, I found a lot of the tidbits of information shared to be a reiteration of things ...more

This book breaks down the steps to fully embrace your glow. Relax, self-care, respect your boundaries and forgiveness are keys to slaying your glow. A quick read that will give you plenty of prompts to journal.

Own Your Glow..... was authentic, life changing and simple. I felt like the author was right next to me, as a life coach and was telling me how to live a more authentic life. She has changed my life over the course of about a week. It was simple enough, where anyone can easily apply these things in their daily lives. These were not grand, over the top ideas, instead where the everyday man or woman could live a happier life.

I cannot say enough great things about this book. I enjoyed the first two chapters so much that after purchasing a Kindle copy of the book, I ended up purchasing a hardcopy because I realized this was a book I will reference many times over. This was an excellent read for the end of 2017/beginning of 2018 and it confirmed so many life lessons I have picked up the last 20 years of my life, actually quite a few things I have shared with friends and younger cousins. Latham did an EXCELLENT job of p ...more

This book was incredible! Being fairly new to intentional personal development (books, yoga, exercise) myself, I will say it requires an open mind. A few years ago, I probably would have thought this was too much “hippie” for me. If that might be you, too, I strongly encourage you to get past it because there is so much goodness in this book! It’s an all encompassing self transformation book that is specific enough so you’re not left thinking “okay, but what should I actually DO?” but open ended ...more

A must have for every woman ready to step into their power! I first discovered Latham Thomas on a podcast episode of Black Girl In Om. She drops gems after gems in her very complete soulful guide. I've learned a lot about how to change my thinking, incorporate more meditation to my daily practices and more about our body, what's good for our reproductive system, skin, etc. I highly recommend!

This book was just what the doctor ordered, or should I say what God delivered! It took two months to read it but oddly as this sounds, that was appropriate timing be she this took what a guide that needs to be used along the journey to crowning the queen within. So grateful God has put this in my life❤️ it’s honestly worth reading, it’s transformative beyond explanation.

There is so much good stuff to mine here - you could easily use this as an ongoing reference, especially during this time when self-care is extra tough. I had a wonderful conversation with the author about the book and much more, so much that one story is becoming two. Look for them in upcoming issues of Upstate Parent (upstateparent.com).

It's such a journey and such a blessing to read this book. I will definitely be re reading again. It taught me about myself and helped me learn about myself through my own processes. Must read for every human, especially women. I am so grateful for this text. It uplifted me, cover to cover.

I love the content. It's repetitive. It's so repetitive that my mind wondered a lot. This content could have been written in less than 100 words.

“You may feel a magnetic connection to ancestral lineage other than your own. Light a candle weekly, as it will bring spiritual light into your home. Light your incense of choice. My grandmother says, “Incense is the medium that spirits breathe in.” Invite them in to breathe with you. What have you inherited from your ancestry that needs healing? What valuable magic has been passed down to you that needs to be activated?” 0 likes
“Light a candle and sit in silence. Ask for guidance as you tune in to the silence. Start to speak to your ancestors silently or out loud. I honor my unique gifts, talents, and powers. I come from a strong and powerful people. I release the baggage and ancestral wounds that have been passed on to me. I will turn the pain and struggle of my past into purpose. I celebrate the freedom that I have because of sacrifices made before me. I promise to honor my lineage and live out my truth. I bow to the legacy that gave rise to me. Through my thoughts and actions, I pave the path for a legacy I will leave behind.” 0 likes
