4 Stars ~ From the first page, Ms Mackenzie sets a light-hearted cheeky tone that swept me in.

At the age of 12, Jackson's rejection by his mother made him doubt his own ability to be loved and return love. Oliver had stepped in and bargained with her for guardianship of Jackson. With his mentoring, Jackson became a success in his own right, and now he has returned to Sloan's Cove to create a memorial tribute to Oliver. He also wants to carry on Oliver's philanthropy and become an anonymous benefactor to three of Sloan's Cove's most worthy citizens. His only problem is he has only three weeks to discover who those worthy recipients should be.

Helena's eight months pregnant and a widow. Much to her over-protective brothers' dismay, she has no intention of every remarrying. She's certain she just doesn't have what it takes to find a loving man. So she throws herself into her passion, cooking and writing cookbooks filled with her creative recipes. When Jackson comes to town and needs a chef, she's positive she's just what he needs. Helena doesn't know that Jackson's had a bad experience with his pregnant-by-another-man ex-wife which makes him leery of pregnant ladies. Of course, she's able to charm her way into the job; a good thing for Jackson, as Helena knows everyone in Sloan's Cove, especially the people worthy of his help.

This was a fun quirky romance. The sexual tension between Jackson and Helena sizzles on almost every page highlighted with their distracting fantasies. The HEA is lovely, and the epilogue is perfect. I'm looking forward to reading Helena's twin sister's story.
