Charming Regency Romance!

This is the first time that I read a book written by author Jessica Jefferson. SECOND CHANCE MARQUESS is a sweet and nice story to enjoy during an afternoon break. Lovers of Regency romances are sure to enjoy this novella! It’s a charming introduction to her new series.

SECOND CHANCE MARQUESS tells the story of two beautiful souls that were torn apart and received another chance for love. The heroine, Willie, is a stubborn woman, and the hero, George, just needs to prove

When a couple get a chance to try again, will they repeat past mistakes?

Willie never expected to have to come face-to-face with the man who wronged her so many years ago. And she definitely didn't think it would be under these circumstances. Her sister is nowhere to be found and Willie is certain that she knows who is responsible. Which brings her to a marquess' foyer in the middle of the night...

George is stunned to find his ex-flame

You know what I never see in a historical romance? This kind of book. It’s a second chance romance with older characters and you don’t have to tell with the ton at all!!!!! I know, right? And yes, the characters are older. Willie is 28 (widowed) and George is 34 (a rake to the highest degree). Plus, Willie isn’t a wallflower. She has had to endure a bunch of stuff to get where is at in the beginning of the book. She speaks her mind to George and doesn’t pull any punches. Of course, George is jus ...more

Willie is a woman who's had her heart broken and learnt the bitter consequences of following her heart in an era where marrying right and keeping up appearances is supremely important. She is now dedicated to ensuring her sister doesn't fall into the same trap. As fate would have it, this decision brings her back to the man who broke her heart. As strong and selfless protagonists go, Willie is a good one. She doesn't make apologies for who she is and doesn't expect anyone's charity or sympathy.

I should read Historical Regency more often, because I am enamored with that time period. Gallant nobles, dastardly rakes, and pomp and circumstance. Where a woman had to contend with a rigid, straight-laced decorum or lose their reputation.

Jessica Jefferson's SECOND CHANCE MARQUESS is a delightful read. I fell for wealthy and handsome George, the rake, immediately. When the couple are reconnected after ten long years, "Willie", as he calls her, tries to live up to her aunts high standards. The

George, is a Marquess. Quite the man about town, he has spent the past ten years or so drinking, going to his clubs, and climbing in and out of the beds of various women. He has quite definitely earned his reputation as an unrepentant rake.
During those same years, Wilhelmina, aka " Willie", married a vicar, and was widowed just a couple of years later, and has lived as a proper, hard working tutor. "Willie" has also been raising her younger sister, who is a flighty little handful, pretty much on

This is a nice second chance at love story that was nicely entertaining. Research could have been better – for instance, when they are going to have to ride one of the horses back to an inn after a carriage accident, Willie remarks on how large the horse is – thinking it had to be at least 14 hands – a very LARGE beast. Well, 14 hands is a pony. Horse’s height begin at 14.2 and would definitely not warrant 2 people riding it back to an inn. But I let that go. I did like the characters, when they ...more

There’s nothing like young love, until it crashes, burns, gets a man shot and leaves a woman struggling for life. If that sounds dramatic then I did the book justice because the story was filled with action, intrigue, and pure romance.

Wilhelmina is unable to let go of the lessons she’d learned at the hands of George when they were younger. Yes she’d fallen in love with him, but she’s also grown harder when things didn’t work out between them. George ended up living a miserable, empty, although s

What a cute story. Although I was a bit confused on the background of Willie and George, the author seemed to intertwine the paste details with the current story. I thought it quite ironic how both sisters end up in the same situation many years apart with the set of brothers. Way cool! Overall I think this was a good read; fun and entertaining.

A story of fate providing second chances to two individuals who should have been together. Both George and Willie have endured their fair share of consequences from their past. Now, the tides have turned for second chances.

George is a Marquess now and he is also an all-time bachelor and he likes it that way. He can't understand what is all the racket in his home when he comes down stairs. Then he sees her and can't believe his eyes.

Willie, has to swallow her pride because she must save her youn

A delightful, quick read.

Wilhelmina and George reunite after years of separation by misunderstandings and the interference of their families. Can they put aside their hurt to stop their siblings from following the same path?
This was a quick read about two people who had been torn apart and find a way to pick through their hurt and find happiness again.

Second Chances

Fun story of second chances. Humor about a ten year romance of lost love. Really, really enjoyed the story. I have enjoyed all the books I have read by this author. Enjoy

Not strictly Regency era. Some editing mistakes. Star crossed lovers finding each other again. Their siblings fall in love and bring them together through many obstacles. Not G rated.

Cute second chance romance - it was a sweet story. Boy and girl abscond. Older siblings pursue. There is a history between the older pair. Misunderstanding and treachery separated them.

Second Chance Marquess is the story of Wilhelmina (Willie) Turner and George Bartlett, the Marquess of Chesterton. They are on a mission to find their siblings who have run away together, presumably to marry.....
I really liked this book. It was a short read and my first by Ms. Jefferson. There was a couple of times I wanted to yell at Willie, but that just added to the character of the book. Don't let the small size fool you, a lot happens in this book. It definitely has some ups and downs.
