I have dozens and dozens of books about trees, but this book and its companion for the eastern US are among my most valued. I travel with them and refer to them whenever I'm outside of my home turf. If I had to recommend a single book about local trees, this (or its counterpart) would be the one. ...more

This is the book I've been looking for. Black and white silhouettes of leaves and photos of every single tree's leaves and bark make identifying trees much easier than other books would have me believe. My other tree books are on their way to The Iliad for trading. ...more
