"Though most murders are committed in the heat of passion, I always prefer to work in cold blood."
Law officials catch serial killers by looking for patterns, but what if there’s a monster who is unique? There’s a serial killer at work across the country who has been effective for so long that no one even suspects he exists. He works with such precision and practiced perfection, how do police officers even hope to catch such a killer? They wait for a mistake.
It’s going to cost county sheriff deputy Luke Rennison something precious and test him, his family and his faith unlike anything he’s ever dreamed. This killer is about to make his first and biggest mistake possible, but will his anonymity and unique methods provide another escape?
Blake Sebring began working for The News-Sentinel at age 15 and started as a full-timer in 1988. After the legendary Bud Gallmeier retired in 1990, Sebring took over coverage of the Fort Wayne Komets, the second-oldest minor league team in North America.
He is the author of 10 books and was inducted into the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame in 2015. His hockey work can be followed at news-sentinel.com, and his books are available at blakesebring.com and on Amazon.
This book tried hard to show the perfect crime. Though the killer got away with the various murders for a time, all thing must end. Even though this is a murder mystery it is Heavy on Christianity and pushes that content. Narrator does a Fair job, when doing the killers voice it comes out rather dull, but the other characters voices are well done. I absolutely dislike Cliffhangers especially when the next Audible book is not even out yet!!!
MUST READ if you thrill to plot driven mysteries! The ghost is a serial killer who randomly selects victims. Will he be caught? Fascinating book details unique murder tecniques, child rearing tecniques, grief counseling, and Faith based behaviors. Reading this will not keep you awake at night unless you want to try to find out who the serial killer is and then you will review reflect upon the plot. I heartily recommend this book and I truly enjoyed it... Especially after reading a recent trilogy by a well-known author using a pseudonym.
MUST READ! Enjoy this plot driven mystery of a serial killer who travels and kills...planning every detail until he meets his random victim. Fascinating! Unique murders are discovered as you turn the pages and learn about coping and moving on from grief, discussing death with children, and other life lessons. An enjoyable, wholesome plot driven suspense. If you opt for a sample, you'll be hooked! The author's prose is much more appealing than mine. MVG
Knowing the author of this book, having a group of characters deeply attached to their church was no surprise. What was a surprise was the conversation going on in the mind of the "villain". Blake wrote that??? Yes, he did!! Which shows you he's a pretty good writer because never even my wildest imagination would I have thought he'd create a character like that. Interesting plot twist at the end, which obviously I can't convey to you. But if you like psychological mysteries, this is a fine one.
This thriller is a departure from the other books Blake Sebring has written and though dark may be his best one yet. There was no relaxed comfort in reading this book. Instead, it was an emotional roller coaster. I did enjoy the format and felt it allowed me to recall the characters better. This book gives an insight into victimology and the difficulties law enforcement face, but more than that it teaches us our 'what ifs' are not insignificant. What if we'd act on something we questioned? Would the outcome be different? Would we be safer? This is a book I didn't want to put down. This ending can easily transition into a series and I'm hopeful for a movie.
Loved the narration of Rob Joesbury, who brings the mystery, suspense and trill to your ears.
We have a serial killer who travels and kills. Every thing is planned until he meets one victim. Faith is unlined but not over powering. This an emotional roller coaster. We learn the difficulties law enforcement face,
