This is going to be nearly the same as the review for the same but the birds. I adore these books and plan on getting more. The only real complaint I have is its just not easy to use in the field. Keep it at home for reference. Gorgeous pictures. Its really worth the money.

"National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Mammals (National Audubon Society Field Guides)" by National Audubon Society is a fabulous field guide on mammals in North America. With tons of pictures, and TONS of information on EACH mammal, you will be able to learn about pretty much any mammal you find in North America. This is a great field guide, and would be great for reference. I would read it again.
