In terms of this being a faerie novel it was really poor and if you are looking for a good fae story I recommend books by Holly Black and Sarah J Maas. However, the characters were extremely lovable and the setting was magical so I felt that made up for the flat fantasy elements of this story.

this was an enjoyable enough novella but it didn't really bring anything new or particularly interesting, and the antagonist was absolutely ridiculous.

kudos for setting it in northumberland tho.
