Canadian Muscle …
When Desires Need Protecting.

Charlotte Weber is no stranger to heartbreak. FBI agent Frank Shaw has swept in and out of her life as though she’s a revolving door, stomping on her heart in the process. Now that she’s finally had enough, he’s back again and seems determined to spin her life out of control.

Frank knows Charlie is the anchor for his lost soul, even though he can’t risk settling down. The demons of his past are too great, and he won’t run the risk of hurting her. This time, his only objective should be locating Charlie’s brother, Sean. But Charlie’s a complication, and not just because she refuses to believe Sean is guilty.

As Frank and Charlie fight for what they believe in, they also try to resist their powerful connection. The future is unclear, but when danger surrounds them, they are each others only anchor.

Guarding His Anchor by author Kacey Hammell is the second book in the Canadian Muscle series. I feel this one could be read out of order and understood just fine. There is a well rounded story here and a great story arc that is easy to follow.
Charlie Webber she wants to lead a strong solid life. Believes in working hard for what she wants. When her brother's life is in danger she has to work with the one man she cannot resist. She might not be happy about it, but she will do what it takes to save her brother. She knows he did not do what he is being accused of.
I liked Charlie, she is strong. She is not overly strong though she is extremely likeable. You would want to be her best friend. And she can kick butt if she has too.
Frank- He is an FBI agent. Will go weeks at a time with no contact. He has a very dangerous job and doesn't want to drag anyone else into it. But Charlie is his weakness.
I did not like Frank at first. He grew on me. He had a great growth through this story. Going from the cold hard as nails agent to the protective loving man I was happy to meet.
Together they go on a dangerous journey to find the truth about Charlie's brother. Along the way they find danger, excitement, and lots of love.
I loved this story. There is mystery and romance all mixed together. I cannot wait to read more from this series in the future. I think there are a few characters who need their own stories told and I would love to read them.

Guarding His Anchor is the second book in the Canadian Muscle series by Kacey Hammell. This author writes with sheer determination to give you the best book she possibly can. Her story lines are crisp and succinctly written to keep her readers on the edge of their seats and coming back for more. Her character development let's you know her characters they are so detailed they become real to you, you care about what happens to them as if they were your family members. The main characters Frank and Charlie have history and it isntvall good. The suspense and intrigue of this story is an emotional rollercoaster ride and the ease with which you can understand what is going on is a treatment to the writing skills of the author. Charlie is a strong independent kick ass woman who loves Frank with all her heart but he loves his job more. They work hard for their HEA ending. You will enjoy this book and I guarantee you will enjoy this author.

I read the ARC of first book in the Canadian Muscle series and really enjoyed the story line, characters, hot, juicy romance and suspense. I also had the chance to read the ARC of the second book in the series Guarding His Anchor. I loved the storyline and plot in this book just as much as the last one. It was packed full of the suspense and hot romance. I can't wait for Kacey Hammell to finish and release the third book in this series. Kacey Hammell is a great author and very creative. I loved how Guarding Midnight ended that it gave you an idea that the next book would be about Frank and Charlie. Im hoping the next book Victoria and Sean will get together. I won't get to know for sure until the next book in this series comes out.

Guarding His Anchor is the second book in the Canadian Muscle Series by Kacey Hammell. For those of you who read book one, Guarding Midnight, our couple from the first book, Gavin and Shree have just gotten married. Shree’s friend Charlotte, or Charlie has been getting angrier and angrier over the fact that the man in her life, Frank disappears for months at a time, treating her like a revolving door. Then he shows up in a friend’s apartment, shot. He’s apparently got some explaining to do!

Charlotte and Frank’s relationship just isn’t that simple, between family who may or may not be on the wrong side of the law, another man, facing down angry friends, and fighting off the charts chemistry, That’s not withstanding dealing with the slick new stranger in town and the threat to Charlie.

You start to wonder if Frank and Charlie are going to have a chance, but most definitely rooting for Frank. I absolutely loved this book and hope the series will continue. It’s another 5 Star success for Kacey Hammell!
