Rajiv met and fell in love with his husband, Mateo, when they were both members of the scientific team responsible for transforming Mars into a home suitable for humans. But the planet isn't big enough for the entire population and, years into their shared mission, Rajiv is ordered back to Earth for four years to restore the barren lands of the American Midwest.
When the distance threatens to weaken their bond, Mateo gets creative with technology, adapting it in sexy and innovative ways to keep the flame burning.
Dale Cameron Lowry lives in the Upper Midwest with a partner and three cats, one of whom enjoys eating dish towels, quilts, and wool socks. It’s up to you to guess whether the fabric eater is one of the cats or the partner. When not busy mending items destroyed by the aforementioned fabric eater, Dale enjoys writing gay romantic, erotic, and speculative fiction; wasting time on Tumblr; listening to Mormon-related podcasts; studying anatomy and neurophysiology; getting annoyed at Duolingo; and reading fairy tales.
Note about my involvement on Goodreads: I leave occasional reviews here and check in on conversations, but I don't connect with other users as "friends." This is because Goodreads is connected to Amazon. Amazon has a policy of removing reviews left by readers who know authors in real life. There's the potential for Amazon to misinterpret an internet relationship between myself and an author based on mutual literary interests as a real-life friendship, and thus to delete legitimate reviews on books I've actually read.
However, feel free to follow me and to ask me to follow you back. That's an alternative way for us to keep up with each other's reviews on Goodreads.
Far From Home is a steamy, sensual read of two lovers living on different planets who find an innovative, satisfying way to be together. The science is plausible and interesting and something I wouldn't mind giving a try. A thoroughly enjoyable story. My only complaint is that it is too short. I can see this transitioning to a full length novel, maybe someday?
TTASS, I want one!! Great story about a really long distance relationship. Wow Rajiv and Two certainly figured out how to make it work. Love is definitely the way to go! Good work Dale Cameron Lowery!
This is wonderful heart-warming book and I really enjoyed reading it. Although the story was very short, I found the story-line to be quite well thought out and written. The characters have personality with emotional feelings of lust, desire and love, according to the situation they find themselves in. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a short well-written M/M Science Fiction Romance with a virtual reality happy ending.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this short story as I'm not a big fan of syfi. Very hard for Rajiv and Mateo to be so far apart from each other but luckily for them virtual reality makes it a little easier for them to feel like they are together. I felt like I was immersed in the pages with them, very erotic and believable.
