This is the second book in the Silent Kingdom series.

Halia fightin this book really starts after what happened in the first one.

The only problem I found again is I couldn’t connect with Halia and I didn’t feel the romance between Halia and Avrik. I prefer the villain Narek as character.

In terms of the story it did progress more and we meet new characters but unfortunately lose some of our previous characters.

I will definitely read the third book to find out what happens to our characters.

I’m riveted and I want book three now. I’m so drawn in I just lose time. I’ll say let me finish the chapter and the next thing I know I’m 3 pages into another! It has to be the detail, the way she writes is well done. I was very happy to see how the ending played out, how decisions were made, lines were crossed. I will be eagerly awaiting book 3.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t know whether I should scream or cry!!! Okay, listen...

Forsaken Kingdom picks up exactly right after the ending of Silent Kingdom. But, this time around things are getting a lot rougher and far uglier than the first book. This one is all about Halia trying to save her kingdom by finding and saving her cousin, Gillen, the rightful king of Misroth. She sets out traveling to Toryn with her four companions in order to find her cousin. On her way, she and her companions bumped into her old fri

Forsaken Kingdom is the second book in the Silent Kingdom series by Rachel L Schade. It's a great sequel as it continues the suspenseful atmosphere of book one. It accompanies princess Halia and her rebel friends on their dangerous trip to Toryn to find her cousin Gillen, the rightful king of Misroth. As they break trough the barrier and enter Toryn they get attacked by creatures more perilous than the sedwa and they meet some of the last people living in this forsaken kingdom. But they request ...more

If you liked the first book in this series, you'll enjoy this one just as much. Steady with action, conflict, and building tension; this book was very comparable to the first. I love that the themes have evolved from Silent Kingdom regarding the value of truth and honesty, to this book questioning the value of life and sacrifice. Praise to the author for her character development. I look forward to reading the next one!

"There is never a guarantee of survival, no matter your strength or skill or wit. There is only the day you are conceived and the day you die, and all else is a series of moments you either embrace or endure."
"Your vague speeches will not save us."

I really enjoyed heading into Misroth again in this second book of the series and traveling further into the story as we headed towards Toryn. Again, one of my favorite parts of reading this series is Schade's writing. This is definitely for reade
After reading this book, I wanted to write and post this review to share my honest experiences toward the story.

This is the exciting, incredible continuation to Silent Kingdom. With Zarev killed and Gillen missing, Halia refuses to take the crown, insisting to find her cousin, the rightful heir to the throne. But she doesn’t go alone – her rebel friends join her as well as a Navek, that infuriating guard who served her father so long but is a native to the land near where Gillen is supposed to b

I absolutely LOVE This series!! Haila is a strong, fierce, loyal heroine! Her Love for her cousin takes her on a dangerous journey. The story keeps getting better with each book. I can’t wait for book three!!

The writing was much better than in the first book and the story continued to intrigue me. I’m looking forward to the next book. I did find some grammatical and punctuation errors early in the book, but there weren’t so many that it kept me from continuing.

The characters were definitely forsaken in this installment. It’s dark, violent, bloody and full of despair. The kind that gives you nightmares.
