Rate this book
(Suncoast Society 47, MM, MMM, MMF, MF, FF, BDSM)

Cali, Max, and Sean are hosting a kinky St. Patrick’s Day party for the Suncoast Society. From unicorn shibari photo shoots to crazy party games, it’s bound to be a wild night. Even if Cali’s bondage-loving cat, Baxter, has been confined to a back room for the duration of the festivities.

Yet it’s not all fun and games. Before the party even happens, tragedy overshadows the evening, driving home the point that life is short and uncertain, friends are everything, and each moment should be fully appreciated. It also brings a lingering, unsettled question back to the forefront for the triad.

For tonight, they’ve been asked to carry on, and that’s what they’ll do. But as the party plays out around them, will their future path finally solidify in their minds, or will it leave them with more doubts and questions than answers?

This was book 47 in the "Suncoast Society" series and the gang is have another kinky party this time at Sean, Max and Cali are hosting it. Right before the party they learn that Mallory and Kel lost their baby and the couple is devastated their friends want to be there for them but they want sometime for themselves. I love reading this series but this book was a little hard for me to read I don't know if it was because of the last book I read or the subject matter. Cali decided that she doesn't want to have a baby she likes her life the way it is and the guys agree. The party had some hot sex scenes and I was sad that Tilly and her guys couldn't make it to this one. We did get a scene with Leanna and her slave wife Sharon and it was hot. Ben and Jake also did a scene that was funny at the end. Leah tied Justin up and when she was done his guys DP him it was hot and Rusty and June they are always hot we also got to meet a new couple Brita and Ethan and who are fiends of Bill and Gabe I am looking forward to read their book. This book was well written like all of Ms. Dalton's books with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Tymber Dalton is my favorite author and an automatic buy every time she releases a new book. Happy Spank Patrick's Day is the 47th book in the Suncoast Society BDSM series. In case you're panicking because you haven't read the previous 46 books, never fear! Each book in the series is a standalone novel, although you will understand the backstories of the characters better if you read them in order. There's a complete listing of the entire series, in order, at the beginning of each Suncoast Society book.

Happy Spank Patrick's Day is another of Ms. Dalton's holiday-themed BDSM private party books. To me, these are always a treat and very special. As you can guess from the title, this time the holiday is St. Patrick's Day. And this time around, it's Callie, Max and Sean who are hosting the party. Cali, Max, and Sean run an online BDSM toy website store called Two Crafty Bastards Toys. Cali runs the website and order fulfillment end of the business while Max and Sean are the "two crafty bastards" who make the unique toys and other BDSM equipment they sell. Add in their cat, Baxter, who's a star on the website as the "bondage cat," and you have a successful business. It's not yet enough for Max and Sean to quit their day jobs but it's certainly getting there.

Everything's great in the days leading up to the party. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, tragedy strikes two members of the Suncoast Society's intimate party group. Cali, Sean, and Max want to cancel the party. No one's going to want to attend a BDSM play party. not when their friends are in such pain. No one's going to be in a party mood. But, as much as the triad believes they should cancel, the two affected by the tragedy insist the party go on as planned. The rest of the group isn't quite sure but, respecting the wishes of their dearest friends, the party proceeds on schedule.

At first, the party's mood is subdued as everyone gathers. The festive atmosphere and playfulness that normally surround each party takes quite a while to kick in. But, despite the cloud that seems to hang over the group, they finally take their friends' wishes to heart. The party's soon in full swing. There's the requisite rigging contest with green rope to celebrate the occasion, with Scrye and June, Leah and Justin, and others, participating. Some of the submissives and switches have dressed up, only sometimes it's hard to tell which switch is on top! There are also new introductions to the party group. Ethan and Brita have been slowly leaning into the BDSM lifestyle, and this is their first play party. Leanna and Sharon are relatively new to the group, and they're looking forward to a fantastic evening of play. Of course, Leah and Seth are there, as are Justin, Wade, and Glen. Keith and Scott are there, but without their third, Scott's wife, Noel. Jake, Ben, Bill, Gabe, Loren, Ross, Essie, Mark, Ted, Josh...almost everyone is there. Even though they're missing two, people are enjoying themselves.

But the tragedy suffered by their friends brings something that's been simmering in the background to the forefront of Cali, Sean, and Max's relationship. Each one of the triad has been thinking about what happened to their friends, and each one has to make a decision that could irreversibly change their relationship. A difficult choice hangs in the balance. Can the triad come together again, like they've done before, and make it all work? Or will this be the one time when things just might fall apart? And how will their friends make it through their own personal suffering? The two affected are so alone and lost in their grief and, as much as the rest of the group wants to help them, you can't force yourself or your love on people who just aren't ready to give up their grief.

Ms. Dalton has done it yet again. She's crafted a story filled with fun, drama, tragedy, laughter, tears, joy, and heartbreak, and she's woven it together so skillfully that it seems effortless. Happy Spank Patrick's Day is a fantastically amazing story full of incredibly real and genuine people. I felt the emotions of each character vividly, and I alternately literally laughed out loud and cried until my tears blurred my vision and ran down my face. That's just how real and well-created the characters in all her books are. The fact that Ms. Dalton has been an active participant in the BDSM lifestyle for many years only adds to the authenticity of the details of that lifestyle as portrayed in her novels. Ms. Dalton's books ALWAYS have the ability to pull me in from the very beginning. Her skill as an author is exceptional. It's no surprise to anyone who's either read my reviews of Ms. Dalton's books or who knows me personally, that I am extremely impressed with the entire Suncoast Society series. Happy Spank Patrick's Day is absolutely wonderful addition to the series.

One final comment. This is an ADULT book. It contains adult BDSM themes, explicit language, and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy erotic romance with explicit sexual and BDSM scenes then PLEASE carefully think before buying any book you know you won't enjoy. There's always a book synopsis at the seller's website and reviews available on Goodreads, several Facebook book review pages, and various booksellers' websites. PLEASE avail yourself of these resources so you're certain the book you're buying is one you want to read. ALSO, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK AS IT'S NOT FAIR TO THE AUTHOR! She works extremely hard to provide a quality work product, and if you know before you buy a book you'll object to the subject matter, you're doing both yourself and the author an extreme disservice. But if you do enjoy hot, erotic BDSM romances, I highly recommend Happy Spank Patrick's Day. You won't be sorry! I give it my highest recommendation.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

The Romance Review

It is always a toss-up if a kinky party will be filled with fun times, sad memories or tragic events. Changing it up is nice because it shows the realities of kinky parties. It isn't perfect. Not everyone is skinny and model material. Whilst it may get erotically orgy like, it doesn't always happen this way. The private parties are more for people who enjoy being with each other to connect. It is kind of like a potluck where a group of friends get together and spend time making great memories. This potluck just happens to be x-rated.

In the latest party, Cali, Max and Sean are the hosts. Before the party can even get started, they learn one of their close friends experiences a tragedy. Yes, there is a death and I am going to avoid giving a spoiler. Suffice to say, it hits many of them hard, due to various reasons. Some it is because they too have experienced this kind of loss and it is still an open wound. Others, it is because they will never have the opportunity to experience this loss and this also causes a different type of wound. For this happy ménage, Cali, Max and Sean are deathly afraid of this kind of loss and decide they want to avoid being placed in this position.

This story is less about a kinky party and more about how friends come together to support each other. These bonds built through kinky experiences build a strong foundation of trust and love. This translates into an entire community banding together to help when one of them is in need. As the saying goes, sorrow shared is sorrow halved. This sad tale does not dwell on the loss. Whilst it treats it with respect, life does go on and people still come together and try to enjoy their kinky time. This story is a bit more somber than some of the others. It is a nice look into how kinky people are not exempt from lost and how they respond is no different than those who are vanilla. Recommended for readers hooked on this series.

Happy Spank Patrick's Day is one of the Suncoast holiday party get=together books. Our party hosts this time around are Max, Cali, and Sean. (I have noticed btw, Cali is getting very switchy, Sean much more subby. Where have all the female subs gone?) Anywho's the book starts with our invite from Tony. (I soooo love that man *sighing happily*) I enjoy that invite, it makes me feel like part of the in-crowd.

Baxter is up to his shenanigans again, and of course, Sean is all tied up in it. (I won't ruin the surprise, but rainbows are involved.) The party is looking like it will be huge, then tragedy strikes the Suncoast family. All I'll say is have a hanky, a box of kleenex, or a Sir (or Ma'am) with a tear-proof t-shirt handy. There are most definitely boo-hoo moments. But the party goes on.

Tymber did an incredible job with this, as she does with every subject she brings up in her books. It's real life, and real life is full of all kinds of stuff. There's ups and downs, but here, The Suncoast family shows that family isn't always about blood, but about the people who you choose and choose you. It doesn't matter if you are gay, straight, Bi, transgender, kinky, vanilla, or any other combo, just accept people for who they are. That's always what comes across.

Great party idea, glad it turned out the way that things did, but still sorry for Kel and Mal. Everyone will be great in the end I'm sure. Always fun games to be had at the parties, no nip for Baxter this time tho. Really like the way that the play parties bring in peeps that keep coming back around. Great thing to have a circle of friends like that.

I always love the parties..

It's great to get to catch up with other characters from previous books. This one was a little more heavy. Kudos to Mrs. Dalton for talking about a topic so many women won't talk about.

Tears in the first few pages

Ms. Dalton is a master storyteller. Wonderful that the party escaped the tension. I was right there. I was waiting for Mal to offer to have a baby for them and so glad that didn’t happen in this story. Well done!!

This is a four hankie book! I loved it because it caught me up on some of the couples that I don't hear enough often enough, like Bill and Gabe as well as introducing new couples who will be in upcoming books. But it was also a hard read because that one of my favorite couples has a tragedy that I didn't see coming. A short, satisfying read.

If you know the characters from previous books, this book will be a heartbreaker, especially for one couple. Another couple makes a decision that could change their lives. Read this book with tissues on the side. You'll need them.

Trigger Warning Miscarriage.

Get a box of tissues ready

I saw this was a party book and I thought yay I love those. Then we find out Mal miscarried but she and Kel didn't want the party cancelled. The Suncoast family want to rally around like they've done before but there is really nothing they can do yet. We get to see some of the newer member join the party which is always fun. Getting to know more about them. As the party progresses people begin to have fun. A new party game was introduced.

Hold on to your tissues. Our friends are going through a rough time. Mal and Kel are having a bad time but they still want the rest of their friends to enjoy the party. So the party must go on but with a slight cloudy overcast and a reality check for them all to love and live.

This is the first of this series I have had to digest before writing a review. That being said, I was laughing from the start of the book then about a quarter of the way in, I had to pull out the tissues. I love the characters Kell and Mal. Walking through the book with the other characters was both sobering and comforting. Having Sean cheering everyone up was wonderful and caring. By the end of the book I was laughing again and loving the characters all the more. The fact the characters in these books are not all flowers and pretty sparkly lights is what a love about this series. They seem so much more life like than some other books I have read. Great going Tymber! I can't wait to read the next book!

Wow, I didn't expect to cry in this book. But it still broke my heart. I was pregnant with twins and lost 1 very early on and it was extremely hard. I could not imagine what it would have been like to not have my sweet son. I thank God forhim every day. It was an awesome book as alwaysand very real. It made me cry.

I kind of had mixed feelings with this story. Part of that most of the "party" stories in this series have been the lighter more about fun stories. Second the drama that is being faced by one of the households was a big trigger that I wasn't expecting seeing as by own event was almost 17 years ago so I had to deal with both my tears for the people in the story and my own set of tears. But it is a Suncoast Society book that while is fiction reflects events that happen in the lives of real people. Because of that these people feel real to me as a reader and I love the fact that we are able to share in their joys and sorrows. Just have some tissues handy when you start this one.
