Hannah Malone grew up in an extremely conservative, faith-based household. Everything she wore and did was dictated for her. Though she was the perfect obedient child, inside she wanted more, with a hunger for life that had yet to be satisfied.
Daniel Shepard drank too much, smoked, slept around, swore like it’s a language all on its own, and fought whenever the feeling struck him.
Despite their vastly different lives, the two find each other and share a connection they both try to ignore. Until the day comes that they can’t fight it anymore…
Summer Nights is a forbidden love story about a girl who has never been allowed what she wants, until she makes a bold move and takes it; but with every decision, there are repercussions. Is Hannah willing to make the sacrifice? Some answers aren’t that simple; some answers have you choosing between the man you love and the family who will never allow the life you see with him.
Summer Nights is a poignant coming of age love story. A friends to lovers romance with a hint of forbidden angst plus a sprinkle of heat; this was a wonderful read.
Hannah Malone knows that she is different from teens her own age. Raised in a strict Christian household and homeschooled, any freedom she claims is on borrowed time.
This is how Hannah as a 13-year-old comes to be unlikely friends with Daniel and Sam. Convincing her parents that Sam is a girl in need of faith and direction, they agree to sleepovers every Friday night.
"He’s everything my parents and the bible preach against: he drinks too much, he fights, he smokes, he sleeps around, he swears like it’s its own language. So why can’t I stop pining after him?"
As the years go by, the sleepovers continue and Hannah’s affections for Sam’s brother Dan begin to grow. Apart from Hannah’s shyness, she knows that nothing can eventuate. For when Hannah turns 18, her parents will be choosing the right husband for her. And Dan is not it.
Hannah spends the best years of her life in the ‘real world’ with friends that she’s grown to adore. It's inevitable that her secret life will implode. Yet it doesn’t change the fact that Hannah wants to live. And when Dan and Hannah realize that their feelings are mutual, maybe they can have their piece of happiness even for a little while.
"I pull him back to his bed and he falls on top of me. We continue to kiss like we’re starving, which I am. I’m starving for something that can never fully be mine, so I want as much of it as I can while I can."
It's a story of forging your own path when you've been conditioned to believe something else. This was wonderful to read. What friendship and love offers and how love is worth fighting for. It was wholesome and sexy which is a heady combination.
Happily surprised by this, when I read the blurb I was unsure about picking it up, as I'm not keen on religious undertones in romance books, but I'm glad I did thanks to Azet's review.
Hannah Malone is 13 when first introduced in the book - home-schooled, she finds herself trapped in an ultra conservative Christian family, when she sees a group of kids she finds freedom and friendships that she could never have imagined. Only thing is her family/parents can never know and so the lies start. With this group she finds a true home, where she can be herself, it she also gains a best-friend and a secret crush that will turn into much more.
By the time Hannah turns 18, she realises that the dreaded time is nearing where her father will pick out her future conservative Christian husband, something she does not want but is resigned to.
The heat between Daniel and Hannah defo radiates of the page at times. There were moments were I wanted Hannah to do things differently, but at 18 and due to how she was raised, her actions didn't drive me batty.
I have to say I wasn't keen on the outcome with Hannah's dad, am I overly focusing on the fact that he
I find "Summer Nights" by J.M Sevilla a very special love-story!It gave me butterflies all over the place!Hannah Malone is from a very sheltered christian family with very strict rules in etiquette and clothing. As a 13 year old she meets the very wild and free Daniel "Danny" Shepard and his gang-and finds true friendship with them while she secretly loves Danny. Now when she has turned 18 her parents finds her a man to marry and she has to once and for all choose which way she wants to live.
GOSH I LOVEEEE Danny Shepard!!!!!He is the ultimate possessive sexy bad boy i wish for myself and i loveeee how he bought sketch pads for Hannah on her every birthday and encouraged her on her gift of drawing designs. There is one scene that made me burn-and that was when Danny on a sunny day put ice on Hannahs body and massaged her with it!THAT WAS SO SENSUAL AND SEXYYYYY!!!!It felt like he was doing it to me!LOL. I also love the others in the gang and Danny`s sister Sam and her romance with Tug was adorable as hell!It would be fun to view this book through Danny`s POV though it was pretty much obvious how smitten he was and always have been with Hannah! The epiluge was wonderful, watching the next generation come to life i hope they have their stories too!
Genre: NA Romance Sensuality: PG-13 Ho-meter: H=manho, h=virgin
13 yr old home-schooled, suppressed daughter of an ultra conservative Christian family meets a pair of siblings. One will become her BFF that she sneaks out twice a week to see. The other will be her secret crush. She is only allowed out 3 times a wk; the third time is for church (natch!).
By the time she turns 18, she must face the time when her father picks out her future conservative Christian husband and her secret life with her friends must come to an end.
This is the author's first novel in over a year so I didnt know what to expect. Previously, I had read her debut novel which I found charming (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...).
Normally, I dont read Opposites Attract Romances but I was pretty engrossed from the first page. I hope the author writes faster next time and less RS since I dont read those.
Why write the guy as manwhore. We know guys get lucky but does the heroine have to see this and still be so dumb to want him. She chooses the wrong guy.
Star Ratings: Heroine (Hannah): 18yrs old Hero (Daniel): 21yrs old Plot: 4/5 Grovel: none Cheating: see triggers HEA: perfect!! Triggers: h witnesses H with other women (before they get together), h’s father sets her up with a ‘courter’
Average score: 4.5/5
Best Line: “I choose Dan, because what kind of life would I be living without him in it?”
Worst Line: “No. My family wouldn’t allow it.”
Personal Review: A really sweet coming of age/first love story between a sheltered girl and a guy from the ‘wrong tracks’
Random Ramblings: •An engaging start •I like how Sam welcomed her into their group •I love how protective they are of each other •Wow that ice cube scene was hot! •Awkward… •I just kept picturing the Duggars •Why did they keep talking like as if she had no choice?? •It is difficult to choose between family and love •But I was soooooooooo disappointed in her with that proposal •Aww…Lauren •That epilogue made the whole story for me – I wish all YA/NA romances had epilogues like this because, to me, it just validates their love and relationship
Overall Feeling:
“You don’t need to try, just be you. That’s more than enough for me.”
It was well paced so I didn't get bored and skim anything! It had a good epilogue letting you know the fate of everyone in their group (not just H&h)
It was a quick read with mild drama (although the H did purposefully kiss OW when he new h would see, but in his defence she had just accepted a marriage proposal so I wasn't too upset with him about it)
Probably not a re-read for me like "Beginnings" is but really good all the same!

I expected better from this author who wrote one of my favorite series that I have reread three times.
This was not bad, but it was stale.
Hannah comes from a very religious and conservative family.
Hannah meets Danny, his sister, and all their friends at the park when she is 12 years old. Hannah is not allowed to go to the park, etc., but she starts lying to her parents just so she can have some freedom. Hannah loves Danny from the first day she meets him, but she promised his sister she would not fall for him and also her parents will select the man she will marry when she becomes an adult. Fast forward to when they are 18 and Hannah and Danny finally start slowly admitting how they feel for each other. Hannah has always been in love with Danny and vice versa, but Hannah's husband has already been picked out for her and she does not know what she should do.
I loved the premise and at first I liked the characters, but then I got really annoyed with Hannah. I began not to hate her. To me towards the end, she wanted her cake and to eat it too. I did not like the way she treated Danny or the boy that was chosen to be her husband. Bottom line, I began to dislike her and if I can't stand the heroine, I usually disconnect to the story. I don't think she should have ended up with anyone. Hannah did not deserve either men.
There was also too much information on Danny's sister and her relationship(s). At 75%, the story lost me.
This book was definitely a bit different from anything I’ve read before. It deals a lot with the topic of Christianity and a heavy religious upbringing. I’ve been searching for a best friends’ brother romance for the longest time and thankfully this filled part of the void! It was such an easy and quick read, not very long overall. I really thought that Sam and Hannah’s relationship was such a strong part but in a sense underlined part of the plot. I also always enjoy a good found family trope! However while it was different, was it my favorite? Not really, but again, major bonus points for the best friends’s brother trope.
I have read and enjoyed all of J.M. Sevilla's books before so I knew I had to read this one once it came out.
Hannah is thirteen and has grown up in a very conservative and strict household. But one night while getting ice-cream with her family she sees this group of kids that intrigues her. The next time she is able to get away, her curiosity gets the better of her and she tries to seek them out. This is when she meets the two people who will change her life. Sam invites her into their group where she meets everyone including the boy she has a crush on, Danny- Sams brother.
Over the next five years she finds family and acceptance for who she is with the mix-matched group of people. Danny in particular is very protective of her. Since Hannah is now eighteen, it is time when her family will find her a husband.
Hannah doesn't want this but struggles to go against the wishes of her family. Making matter more complicated is that her and Danny secretly like each other and want something more than what they think they can have.
I bought this book on a whim on Amazon and I'm so glad I did! I loved both Hannah and Dan, and Sam was awesome as well. Hannah could have been really whiny as a narrator given her circumstances, but she wasn't, thank goodness. I liked the drama of Hannah not wanting to be courted and her strict rules with her family, and her relationships with the Shepards and her friends. I strongly recommend this one!
Let Me tell you about this book!!! There aren't even enough words...
I started this book before bed with every intention to just read a few chapters and put this down for bed so I could be clear headed for work. NOPE THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.. I didn't get to bed until 1 am and had to wake up in 4 hours for work. and it was worth every hour I lacked in sleep.
It has been a very VERY long time since I have been able to keep a book in front of me for more than a few chapters before bed. I have not had a book fully enthrall me like Summer Nights did in so very long. It felt AMAZING to finally catch a glimpse of what I've missed about reading all the time. This is a reminder to why I love the more "unknown" authors.
The story-line itself is just different. It isn't your every day romance topic, it is just something that isn't common and that is just another reason why I fell in love.
The character development and chemistry was off the charts. Daniel is untouchable for Hannah in more ways than one, and my heart broke for these characters.
Every single part about this book was great. I highly suggest taking the time to read this one. You won't be let down!!!
I read this book a long time ago. At the time it didn't really strike me as anything special. However, almost a year later, I find myself thinking about the characters for one reason or another. Which means to me, it is a special book. I read so much that it's easy for plots to blend and names to get mixed, but I remember everything that happened with these characters. A sheltered girl. A bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. I've read the plot before, probably too many times to count. So why does this one stand out? I think it comes down to the connection between the characters. It wasn't fast. It wasn't dirty. It was innocent, while managing to turn up the heat. The relationships with the friends were just as important as the one between the Hero and Heroine. Even the relationships we spent little time reading about stood out as special. Perhaps just believable. I could easily believe these teens live down the street from me. I might pass them as I drive by and get a glimpse of their life. These are the best kinds of books. The ones that stay with me. So five stars are easy to give for this romance. I recommend it many times over.
Hannah Malone grows up in a super conservative household and religion is everything. She isn't really allowed to socialize with those outside her small world, but she meets a girl one day who has a brother, Daniel, that Hannah is mesmerized by as well.
She ends up finding ways to hang out with them all through her teenage years and can't get past how she feels for Daniel. It really all seems to come to a head when they are older and come to terms with how they feel about each other. It's when her dad "chooses" a husband for her that she just can't take it anymore and wants a life with Daniel.
It was a good read - I really liked Daniel and Hannah together.
this book was different, but good. super good and i would def read something like it again. i was super scared she wouldn’t end up with danny after she accepted Josh’s proposal but she did!! sometimes a sad or what some would say “realistic” ending isn’t what people want in a book. it’s definitely not what i want. anyway, i think the cherry on top would have been a few chapters in Danny’s POV, and a lot of the time it was super hard to tell the boys apart but it was soooo good. it’s hard for me to give criticism become i usually only see the good in books. Anyway yeah, def recommend.

I've read plenty of books and I consider this one of the BEST books I have ever stumbled upon. Go ahead and make this a must read!
I really like her books they have lots of emotions and love in them. I really liked everyone in here even the secondary characters. I also like how the author didn't make the OM bad and we can see how sweet and gentle he was and i actually felt bad for him and i didn't like how the h lied to him for sometime, i had hoped the author would have shown a happy ending for him too.
Wow wow wow...I need to give this book 10 stars. I don't even know what to say beside this book reeled me in and wouldn't let me go until I was done. If you are having second guesses about reading this just stop and go ahead and read it. I absolutely LOVED this book!!!!!!
I only read this book because my sister had suggested it to me. I was kind of dreading it at first just because her and I read different things. To my surprise I LOVED this book. I love how it awakes all over your emotions. Love love love it. I strongly suggest reading this books. "Always hold onto the things that makes your cup run over with happiness!"
This was a very enjoyable read, refreshing to see the opposite side of the tracks not looked upon in the usual negative light. The characters and their families create a storyline that is captivating from first page till last.
Wow. This showed up on my recommended kindle list somehow. I'm not sure how. Ask the reviews were great. This is NOT clean. I would not recommend this one ever.
I enjoyed this book it told a story I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. A story about 2 people falling in love from different backgrounds. It's a lovely read
This book was a good story and was never dull.I have to say it was a book that I didn't want to stop reading. If you like books about parents that set up their daughter for arranged marriage and true love elsewhere this is for you.Enjoy the book I sure did
So this came up on my recommendations in amazon so i figured i would give it a try. Was a bit unsure when it started with her being thirteen but the book progress. I enjoyed it, it managed to surprise me, excite me, even root for them to be together by the end of the book
This book was absolutely one of the best books. The only thing I was wished was that it was longer. Everything about it was so well written. I loved the tight-knit group. The boys made me laugh. I finished this book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.
