I’m Jo and the death of my mother revealed a whole lot of secrets she was keeping. Like the fact that my sperm-donor father was a freaking angel who couldn’t keep it in his pants and slept with a woman he should never have been with. Or the fact I’m not mortal and would one day be a reaper of souls.

Reaping souls, now there is something I never dreamed I would do, but her

A.D. Trosper "unveils" another engrossing and delightful story. (See what I did there.)

I have enjoyed other books by this author and I am always struck by the ease with which Ms. Trosper creates her worlds. Her language is unadorned and straightforward. The prose itself quickly slips into the background as the setting she creates fills your imagination. The world-within-worlds reality of Unveiled is truly fascinating and I can't wait to see what further lands are explored in the sequel(s) to thi

Loved this book. Such a unique story as can only be told by the great writing of this author. Whether fantasy or New Adult A.D. Trosper always delivers a great story. The main character Jo is overwhelmed by the changes in her life but manages to cope with her wonderful sense of humor and sarcasm . The play between the demons reapers and angels is so original and totally absorbing. Can't wait for the next installment. ...more

I really loved this book, it had all the elements of a fantastic YA fantasy. Jo and Victoria are sisters who couldn’t be more different. When their mother dies, and they are forced to face the truth of their origins, they are brought into a world they never would’ve guessed existed. Within the world, they each have their own roles, one as a Reaper and one as a Guardian.

Jo was my favorite character. She was feisty and strong. She did not back down even when other characters did.

This was such a unique and captivating story. Jo was an ordinary eighteen-year-old caught in an extraordinary situation. She was likable and relatable and I loved how she reacted to all the crazy situations and just sort of took them all in stride. I really liked reading about her shifting into a raven. I've never read a raven shifter book before and found that to be really unique and interesting. I LOVED Caius. He was super sexy and his character was so intriguing. I can't wait to see how their ...more

So good! A must read for PNR fans!
Just wow. this book completely shocked me. 😱 it was slow pace and yet still moving perfectly . Im used to fast pace but this was beautiful! I couldn’t stop reading!! it just kept getting deeper and more intriguing then ever! I love this unique world with angels, reapers, and demonborns. Josephine aka joe and Caius will have you hooked! Jo’s friends are awesome and everyone needs a bestie like James! Its a slow-burn romance since Jo and Caius are natural born ene

Unveiled is a very imaginative book, that grabs you from the very first page. I don't think many books are written about reapers, so it is always fun to read one about a topic not covered a lot, especially when it is well done. The pace of the book is perfect. I never felt that the author was dragging out the story or trying to rush me along. There are some nicely developed hidden twists that keep the story interesting. Sadly this book ends on a cliff hanger, but that just means I will pick up t ...more

Having read some of A.D. Trosper’s other works, I expected to enjoy Unveiled before I laid eyes on the first page. I didn’t expect to absolutely love it.

In this tale, Trosper has managed to effortlessly weave together elements of various mythologies and use that setting to bring to life very real and complex characters. Jo (don’t call her Josephine) is a non-typical girl who finds out that all the things she thought about herself and her family weren’t completely on the up and up. Turns out she’

I enjoyed reading Unveiled. It was my first time reading Young Adult Fiction, and it pleasantly surprised me.

From the beginning, I felt drawn into the story as Jo ("don't call me Josephine") sits at her mother's deathbed, sees her mother's spirit accompanied by an angel (reaper), and bam! She's always felt different from others while growing up, and now she knows why! She's half-angel, half-mortal. And then... she is drawn into another world, just a little different to ours, as she comes to grip

This book was creatively written; what starts out as a normal family but a sick mom and her two daughters, turns into a paranormal story with fascinating creatures and characters with special powers.
"Given the nature of mortals, I think it is safe to say you would be better off hunted by a demon-born than falling into the hands of mortals who realize you do not age."
"There was something vaguely animal in the features and there was no mistaking the fangs. I hadn't imagined those."

After a young woman's mother dies, she finds out her absent father is an angel, and then she is contacted by reapers who tell her that she's to learn how to be one of them and lead souls to their next destination... This doesn't sound like the sort of story I'd like, especially since it's YA, something I generally avoid due to a distaste for "insta-love" and similar, all-too-pervasive cliches.

"Spoiler"/good news: There's no insta-love in this novel.

The plot, which after the middle of the book lo

This is my review of the audio version as posted on Audible:

It's a book that takes elements from different religious systems and mixes them together to create a fantastic, gripping, fast-paced story full of action and emotions:)

It starts a bit slow, with Jo's mother dying of cancer - and that's where we get the first glimpse of the world Jo is going to live in: she sees the Reapers who have come to help her mother cross the River, something she shouldn't be able to do at all - if she's human. A

As Victoria settles into her new life, Jo’s becomes increasingly complicated. As secrets are revealed, the dangers and problems grow, and when she is assigned a clandestine mission with a Demon-born, Jo’s life is turned upside down once again. Unveiled by A.D. Trosper pulled me in from the beginning. Typically I do not listen to many paranormal/fantasy/young adult books, but this one appealed to me with its Reapers, and Fallen Angels. The author did a fantastic job plotting the story, developing the characters, and creating vivid imagery. I enjoyed the attraction between Jo (Josephine) and Calius, and found the snarky banter added to the story. There are also unexpected twists, which I adore. Suzanne T Fortin performed this book incre ...more

4.5 stars! Though the story seemed to start off a bit rushed - there are a few big time jumps in the start of the book, in the end, the time that was jumped really was irrelevant and I understand why it was done. But in the moment, it was a bit jarring. However, the story, once it really got moving, was fantastic. Such an interesting world, with those with some amount of angel blood becoming guardians or reapers, and the other side of the world being the demonborn, and the nemesis of the angel b ...more

This was my first A.D. Trosper's book, and won't be the last! This is the first book in the Raven Daughter Series, and a great introduction to this Series. Wow! I loved it! This is a fantastic story, beautifully written. Jo and Caius's slow burn story is captivating, with Demons, Immortal, Reapers, Angels and Humans. The other characters are really interesting. The storyline is complex, fast-paced, action packed, and suspenseful. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. The narration i ...more

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

This is a really unique and imaginative concept that grabs you straight away. I actually didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did but the more I listened and you hear the sassy strong Jo hearing about just how different life is from what she thought to what is truth you grow to appreciate how much depth this character has. Caius had his single line at the end of each chapter which I thought would dri

A marvelous story of a young girl who discovers that she is not fully human and that very fact may be the death of her.

I was given this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review and I am very pleased to have had the honor. I love when an author has the ability to create worlds that make you feels as though you can walk right or brtter yet when that world is connected to th one we live in and is covered by a veil. A.D. Trosper does just that.

The book intrigued me when the author was nominated for one of my Best Indie Titles of 2017 awards on my author blog, and the author was nice enough to share the story with me for a review. This YA fantasy is filled with twists and strong characters, who have depth. It was exciting and riveting, and Trosper writes a good story. She brings in different worlds and themes and melds them together into one great story. This is the first book I've read of Trosper, and it won't be my last. It

Suzanne T Fortin is a brilliant narrator. Usually it take me a couple of chapters to settle with a narrator I have never listened to before, but not her. I relaxed into the book straight away and she did an excellent job with all the characters. The one bad point is there was nowhere near enough of Zachary Johnson....I could have listened to a lot more of him.

I really, really enjoyed the story, it's a great idea and executed beautifully. The world is fabulous and the characters are great. I lov

Unveiled is an interesting and entertaining paranormal story following a young adult female who just cannot seem to win a break. Death, murder attempts, lies upon lies, mystery, and secrets plague her for only one alleged reason...she was born. The characters are likable and relatable and the storyline is unique. My only grudge is the cliffhanger! The narrator did a great job! I prefer audiobook speed to be closer to how I read out loud, so a speed of 1.25x was to my liking. I received a free co ...more

Overall, I give this book my standard ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating. I found the overall story to one of discovery...who is Jo, what is Jo, where is Joe and what does all of this have to do with Caius. The overall novel moves pretty slow, but it’s jam packed with story (it’s pretty “wordy”, there are action but not action - these moments happen very quickly. I would continue to read the Raven Daughter series because I want to know what happen to Jo, Jo’s father and her grandmother

I found Jo and Caius very interesting characters. I must admit that the author wrote some very interesting lines to capture the readers or listeners attention. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a fabulous job. My heart broke for Jo and her sister. I liked how Jo is a strong female character. The world building was great. I enjoyed learning more about this world. The two main characters are very interesting. The creatures, and worlds were great. Not knowing who you can trust!!
