This is said to be a book mainly for entrepreneurs but everybody who wants to write a book can benefit from it. It has a lot of practical advice, great tips about productivity, writing tools and other books (loved the Freedom Journal!,) and confidence boosting tips. It has a great chapter about mind mapping your book.
It really helps against procrastination as it promises in the title.
As I’m a DIY (Do It Yourself) author (using Ray Brehm’s definition) the chapter for DFY (Done For You) authors didn’t have much interest for me. I’m also not prepared to invest in dictation as an alternative to writing. Is doesn’t appeal to me.
The chapter structure is impeccable. It really sells you the next (and next and next) chapter. It isn’t always that I’m so compelled to continue reading a non-fiction book.
Ironically, although the author teaches us about editing, there are some typos here and there.
Overall, it was a value packed book and I learned a lot.
I have Reading Deals to thank for the opportunity to find and read this book. This is an honest review.

I accepted a copy of this book from Reading Deals to review, and then procrastinated reading it.
It is not a long book and can be read rather quickly. The author expressly asked for honest feedback. Several chapters are quite repetitive and overall the book would benefit from a more professional edit.
That said, the author quotes one of his mentors as saying they call them "best selling" books, not"best writing" books.
The focus of this brief book is to convince entrepreneurs that a book is far better than a business card and serves as an introduction, selling tool and proof of credibility. It also wants to explain that anyone can be a published author. It succeeds on those points.
The book contains interesting information presented in an informal, conversational voice. I appreciated the referenced resources. It has an encouraging motivational quality.

Very Helpful!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I finished my first book this year back in April. I found it insightful and full of nuggets and tips I can use to write my next book even more efficiently. This will help simplify the daunting task of writing a book if you haven't written one before. Great job Ray!
