Mary never believed the rumors about her mother being a witch, but when a mirror inexplicably connects her to her twin brother Michael, stationed half a world away on a WWI battlefield, she reconsiders. To protect him from a battle he has reason to believe will be his last, Mary sets out to uncover any magic left on her isolated farm.

The incubus Cairn wakes from centuries of banishment to a cramped basement and a sensual, albeit surprised, woman. Perhaps she didn’t intend to summon him, but since she did, perhaps he could help… for a price.

Circles Within Circles by Cora Vidae is a paranormal novella written in multiple points of view. This book was very interesting. Mary is running a farm by herself while her brother is off fighting a war. World war l is going on and her brother Michael is stationed a half a world away. Some weird stuff goes down and Mary wonders if the rumors are true that her mom was a witch. So after searching she finds irrevocable proof and decides to help her brother. Her spell summons an incubus who agrees to help her for a price. There is a lot of attraction and hotness that transpires. This was a fast read and easy to fly through. I enjoyed the story. It ended really fast though and I was surprised it ended when it did. I would read other books by this author. The writing was good and I enjoyed the characters. Definitely recommend if you like fast reads in the paranormal genre. 4 star rating.

Circles within Circles by Cori Vidae a fantastic four-star read, this is an erotic novella that has a paranormal twist. It’s a great short read, full of sexiness and intrigue. I have been left with so many questions, and would love to see this story go on so we could find out more about Mary her twin brother Michael, I also want to find out more about the cat that is called Eclipse. Although its only 61 pages I could have read more, Cori Vidae is a great writer, the story had a good plot line and the characters are well planned out, they have a good story to tell that reveals itself as you read.
Mary and Michael are twins whose parents have recently passed away, Michael is away at war as its 1917 and the world is not at peace, Mary is feeling alone as the live in a place away from the village, she looks into the rumours of her mother being a witch and what she finds will change everything for her, and her twin.

Wow oh wow! What the heck was that!?! That was a short, hot novella called Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae. A story that has drawn me in, making me want to see what adventures Mary and Michael can take. Making me want more of this story! Leaving me with way too many questions!! Like what’s up with the cat named Eclipse? What or who does Mary conjure up within her circle? Is the being real? Good? Evil? What really happened to Mary's parents? Why doesn’t Mary know about the magic she has?
While the blurb pretty much tells you what's going on, what it doesn’t tell you is that you’re going to want more! This story was really good but such a teaser. This novella was easy to read, even with all my questions. And even though this was my first book by Vidae I look forward to reading more from her, hopefully the rest of this story!

This book was given to me on LibraryThing.
If felt weird and rushed and a bit forced.
I am sure that it will appeal to people who enjoy dirty novela with demons, but I realize I don't.
It's too fast paced and it doesn't really have a plot.
It's a dirty little snack for the readers who enjoy it, I guess. Nothing wrong with the writing.

Circles within Circles is a spellbindingly good novella by Cori Vidae. It is a historical/paranormal and spicy short story that sure packs quite a punch. A ‘hit’ you will be sure to remember and one you will want to get more of…..
Mary lives on an isolated farm in the Canadian Prairies. It is 1916, the war rages in Europe, while she struggles through the middle of winter. Her twin brother enlisted and was sent off to war, she misses him terribly and has become quite lonely over the past few months- to break the silence she has resorted to talking to her cat, Eclipse.
After being startled by Eclipse as he dashed past her, Mary follows him to her bedroom where she is shocked to find that her mirror has opened a connection to her brother, who is stationed in France. She doesn’t know how the connection came to be, or what triggered it- but she does know that her brother is in trouble and she needs to find a way to protect him.
There were always rumours going around about her mother being a witch, but Mary had never seen any proof to confirm the ‘talk’, so she just never believed it. But after the mirror incident, she was now a believer, and wondered if there was some kind of magic she could find to use and help her brother. During her desperate search, Mary unknowingly summons an Incubus (demon).
Cairn has been banished and sleeping for centuries- he is called to the cellar by a woman who is as beautiful as she is intriguing. She needs his help to save her brother. He can help her but he wants something in return. Will Mary trust Cairn to help her brother? What will his help cost her? What of the sizzling connection that flows between them? Will her brother be saved? What happens once Cairn has fulfilled his promise?
One thing I know for sure, her life will never be the same again!
What would you do to protect or even save a loved one?
This was such a surprise package. I don’t know what I was expecting, but Ms. Vidae blew me away and surpassed any expectations I may have had. I was completely engrossed it the story, when got to the end and couldn’t believe it was over. I wanted so much more, the story was so good I just wanted to keep reading. This would make a really wonderful, captivating and exciting full-length novel.
I loved the characters- they were so well written that their spark, personality and presence just leapt off the pages. I loved the storyline and would have loved to explore all the various elements in even more detail.
This is a fast paced, easy read. I devoured it in a couple of hours.
I always enjoy Ms. Vidae’s stories and I can’t wait for her next one.

Thank you Ms. Vidae!

“When you don’t know where to start, one place is as good as another….”
This book is set in 1917 and, follows a young woman named Mary. She is stranded in the cold winter months on her family farm, five miles from the nearest town, all alone except for her cat Eclipse. Her twin brother is fighting in the war and her parents have died fairly recently. It was a well know secret that her mom was a witch of sorts amongst the locals. Mary didn’t believe the rumors until a magic mirror shows her brother in a military tent and worried that something terrible is about to happen. She knows that his feelings tend to come true, so she seeks out to find her mom’s secrets and see if she can protect her brother. “When you don’t know where to start, one place is as good as another.” What she finds leads her to a demon, or an Incubus. He is able to cast a spell that would protect her brother. The only catch is he is weak from years of being ‘banished’. Can she do whatever it takes to restore the demon’s energy and protect her brother from a horrible death? I thought that this was a really good short story. As with all novellas, there is an abrupt end. I found myself wishing for maybe just a few more pages or an epilogue of sorts, mostly because I had gotten hooked on the story and felt there were unanswered questions.

Mary is alone on her farm out in the middle of nowhere, quite a ways from her neighbours. Her brother Michael and farm hand Pete, are away at war god knows where. Being alone she finds herself talking to the only creature around, her cat to keep from feeling so lonely. With time on hers hands she finds herself thinking about the rumors about her mother, in particular those of her mother being a witch. Nothing led her to believe those rumors were true.

When Mary sees the mirror in her bedroom ripple she reaches out thinking to feel the cold surface but what she feels and sees is unbelievable. She sees her twin brother Michael, Mary is not sure how because he is somewhere half a world away on a battlefield in France. After Mary connects with him through the mirror, they both realise that the rumors about their mother could be true, couldn’t they?

When Michael tells Mary he has a bad feeling of things to come, she listens and sets about trying to find ways to help him, to save him. Mary sets out to see if the rumors are true but what she finds is definitely more than she bargained for but without the help she has been offered, she is completely helpless. But what is the price she is willing to pay to save her brother, for the help she is offered?

For a short story I found it intriguing. If you like a quick read and like a little paranormal, then give it a go.

** 4 star review **

Circles within Circles is a short story by Cori Vidae and one that I did not want to end! I really enjoyed it. The book was something totally out of my comfort zone with regards to the paranormal/fantasy side but twisted with one of my favourite genres historical romance/erotica. I don’t think I have read anything quite like this before but I certainly will be reading more by this author again if this is her usual style of book and writing! The book was really well written and had some great descriptive language – I could easily imagine what I was reading.
Obviously being a short story it’s hard to connect well with the characters but I loved the mystery surrounding them, especially Mary and her family. I thought that the plot to the story was interesting and unique. I wasn’t quite sure just what Cairn was up to at first and what his true intentions were with regards to helping Mary’s brother. I could have happily read more of this story and the ending left a lot to the imagination – I wonder if we will see more to come!
Overall a really nice, enjoyable story with a few steamy scenes! I would definitely recommend it! I am looking forward to reading more books by this author!

Circles within Circles by Cori Vidae is a short story that has a paranormal twist to it. It is full of excitement, some suspense and of course hot, sexy sex. You will love how this author has created a character that you will be able to relate to and will pull at your heart strings. You will enjoy how these characters interact. This story will pull you in from the first word forward and make you want to see what happens at the end. Find out what happens when a woman meets an incubus.

Mary is a woman who lives on the family farm and talks to her cat just to hear herself talk. There was always rumors that her mother was a witch but she never seen it. Her mother gave her a mirror when she turned sixteen but never really understood why. What happens when this mirror accidentally connected her to her twin brother? He has been fighting the WWI battle. He tells her that something doesn't feel right but she has no way of helping him or does she? What will happen when she decides to cast a “help” spell?

The incubus Cain was awaken after centuries of being banished. What he sees when he opens his eyes is a sensual, surprised woman. Did she even realize she summoned him? What does she want? Perhaps he could help her but at what price? What will she do? Mary is a strong character that you will just fall in love with and really just makes this story. Cain, well what can I say about him but a hot, sexy incubus that anyone would love. He seems to be a strong character with power. Their story has a couple of twists and turns that will leave you wondering. Find out what happens to these two. Will she pay the price he wants in order to get what she needs?

This is not my first story by Cori Vidae. The one thing that I love about Cori's story is that she never lets me down, she always creates a story that will just make you lose track of time and you will totally lose yourself in this story. She never disappoints. Cori is an erotica story writer. She is also Assistant Editor for World Weaver Press. She also is publisher in chief at Pen and Kink Publishing. She also collects shiny things. You will love how she has created a fast paced story that will have you reading until the end. You will have a need to find out what happens to these two characters. I highly suggest this story as I know you will want to see what happens when a woman meets an incubus!

I give Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae 4 stars.

Mary has been left alone to keep their farm running and the house in good standing. Her twin brother and good friend are both off fighting the big war and their momma passed away a while ago. It is hard work but she will do what needs to be done, even if she feels such loneliness. They live outside of town and the townspeople always looked at them funny, they used to call her mom a witch. So to keep herself from going completely insane, she starts ranking to their cat.

One day, after longing to see her brother again, she takes a look at the mirror. It’s rippling like water. Then she sees her brother in it. Flabbergasted, she quickly pulls her hand away. Later, after regretting her decision to let go, she touches the mirror again. This time she is able to have a quick conversation with him. He is overseas somewhere with this troop. But he has a very bad feeling of things to come. His bad feelings have always been true and Mary starts to get very worried. She is later led to find something I a book that states it can help. It looks like a spell of some sort, but she is desperate.

Cairn is an incubus. After being in a forced state of slumber for many, many years, he finds himself summoned. But this is not the woman who normally uses this spell. She looks like she has no idea who or what he is or what even what just happened. She claims she just wanted to help her brother. He will do anything to escape, even if it means using this girl. But will he get the chance? This girl may not know of such things but she isn’t stupid either. And why does she he feel this pull to her?

This was a very good story. It was written well and looks like the beginning to a very good series. The characters are well done and I felt myself pulled into the story. I long for more and cannot wait to see where this story may go.

Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae is a historical romance short story that has supernatural elements to it. Mary and her family live on the outside of town on a farm, which is seen as weird to the townspeople and there’s a rumor that her mother is a witch even though Mary has never seen any evidence of it. After her parents are gone Mary ends up having to take care of the farm and house by herself with only her cat to talk to as both her brother Michael and the farm hand Pete are sent off to fight in the war. Things get weird when she sees the mirror that her mother has given her ripple and is connected to Michael, and she ends up with only worry as Michael tells her that he has a bad feeling about what is going to happen. She takes this to heart because his feelings are not usually wrong. Looking for a way to help her brother she ends up meeting an Incubus who may be just the person she needs to help her brother, but the only question is at what price and is she willing to pay it? This is a short read as it is only about 61 pages long, but I enjoyed it. If you are into supernatural books that are set in the past, then I would for sure recommend reading this book.

Four Stars

Circles Within Circles is a short story by Cori Vidae. This is the first book I have read by this author. This was a paranormal story with twists added in. Ms. Vidae used great character descriptions to make the book come to life.

Mary lives on her family farm. She is by herself since her brother and the care tracker went off to war in WWI. She is isolated because of the distance from the nearest town. After doing her chores one night, there is a presence in the air. Her cat is edgy and when she goes into her bedroom she notices the mirror is shift like waves in water. When she touches the mirror she has a link to her twin brother who is fighting in France. There were rumors floating around town that her mother while she was alive used witchcraft. While speaking to her brother through the mirror she found that he was in danger.

Mary decides to look in her parents bedroom, which has been closed since their deaths. She finds a room under the bed and it is full of books. Looking for a spell to help her brother she calls Cairn, an incubus to life. Will he be able to help her brother? What will be the price she pays?

I'm hoping there will be more books by this author about Mary. I loved this fast read and would love more. Delightfully intriguing!

Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae is a five star novella. This is a great read for the length. I was able to get pulled into the story right away and didn't even put it down until I was finished. Mary and her twin brother were inseparable. That is until he went of to join the war effort during WWI. This is after their parents had already died. She knew she was going to be lonely, but never expected it to be this bad. Then she finds the mirror her mom gave her and realized she could see Michael, her brother, and hear him. This is some kind of magic she never knew existed. People had made rumors that her mother was a witch but she easily dismissed them. After that first connection with her brother, who is halfway around the world, she knows she must find anything else that might be magical on the farm to help get her brother home safely. He has a bad feeling he can't shake, and that worries her more than anything. Will she find something, or someone, magical to help him?

Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae is a short story about Mary who discovers the truth to the rumours that her mother was a witch. Her mother gave her and her twin brother Michael each a mirror for their 16th birthday. Now Michael is fighting in the war and Mary’s mirror comes to life as a way for her and her brother to communicate while he is so far away.

Michael tells her he has a bad feeling. He has had them before and is usually right. Mary fears for his safety and begins to learn more of her mother’s past in order to try and help him. She tries a spell for help which seems to have gone wrong. But has it? And has she got a bit more than she bargained for?

I found this story very intriguing and felt myself wishing there was more of it as it was quite brief. I love the idea behind it and feel that it could be good as a series. The descriptions of the characters and surrounding painted a good picture and made it easy to imagine the events unfolding.

Circles Within Circles is a short story by Cori Vidae.

I was unsure whether to read this one but I am glad that I decided to give this one a chance. I read it one sitting and I was disappointed when it ended. It's a fantastic book but it did seem to end abruptly however. For sure it leaves you wondering what happens next. I just hope that there is a sequel to this as I will want to one-click that one when it comes out.

I loved the whole take on the paranormal/fantasy side mixed with the erotic side. I found the storyline really compelling which kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters were also really well done and it just went to show what you would do to save your family. I really liked the fact that even her cat developed his own personality and character. Fantastically really well written and l will be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. Fingers crossed it is as amazing as this one. It was a really lovely story with some steamy sex scenes.

Highly recommended to all friends and family. This is definitely a five star read for me.

Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae was a quick romance novella. We meet Mary who is worried about her brother Michael who is away at war and one night they find that there is magic in their blood. The rumors about their mother turned out to be true. Mary is at home at the farm desperately needing help and inadvertently calls upon some unexpected “help.” Cairn is an incubus demon that has been dormant for a very long time, 316 years to be exact. Being summoned was unexpected and what he finds waiting for him is new and different. There is an instant understanding between the two that their lives are very different and both have goals of their own. Mary asks for the help she so desperately needs not sure how an incubus could get involved but having no other option was motivation enough. I enjoyed this quick read and the steamy scenes fit right in and didn't seem forced which is always a good surprise.

Circles within Circles
By Cori Vidae
4 Star Review

Circles within Circles by Cori Vidae is a novella that is set in 1917 during the World War I. I enjoyed this book and it is a very quick read. I gave this story 4 stars and I hope there are future stories with these characters because I want to learn so much more about them. I felt that this was just a quick introduction and hopefully there is more to come.

Mary and Michael are twins, and their parents have recently died. They only have each other now, but Michael decides to join the war effort. Mary is very worried and doesn’t want anything happening to him. They live in a secluded place away from town, Mary’s mom had a reputation for being a witch, but she doesn’t believe it. Until, she finds a magical mirror, where she sees and talks to her brother who is half way around the world.

Michael feels bad things are coming and Mary is very concerned so she decides to look through her mother’s things to try and find some answers. Mary summons Carin, a super-hot and sexy incubus who had been forced into a slumber. Mary not realizing the extent of what she has done she makes a deal with Carin to ensure her brothers safety.

This story has some very hot sex and throws in the magic and the incubus; you have a very good story. I actually felt this story was a little short and I am hoping for further stories involving these characters.

Circles within Circles by Cori Vidae is a short erotic/paranormal read. It's the first story of hers that I have read and I can guarantee it won't be the last. The way the story flows from beginning to end is great! The ending is the best part, while it ends in a “what's next?” it still leaves me an idea of what could happen.
Our main character, Mary loves on her own on a farm. She has nobody but her brother left. He's currently at war, and they haven't been able to communicate since he's left. That is until one night a mirror her mother gifted to her brings her images of her brother. Those images turn out to be a live video in which her brother can see and hear her. It is then that she realizes that they rumors about her mother were true.
Seeing her brother in danger she can't help but want to do something to help. It's her twin, her only family member left. She tries to think of something and in the process summons and incubus. Is this “person” able to help? Will he want to? There's only one way to find out….

I love how the author mixed in the erotic into the paranormal story. It went great.
Definitely 5 stars!

Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae 5 Stars

This is the perfect short story. It is 61 pages that has a beginning, a middle and an end and left me wanting so much more. I mean, it reads like it was a scene out of much longer novel and yet it didn’t leave me feeling like I had been tricked. But seriously, I want more. I have questions. I have theories. After writing this review, I’m going to search and see if the full story has been published.

Mary is a twin whose brother is a soldier at war. After the tragic death of her parents, she is alone and has to fend for herself. Thank goodness she has her cat Eclipse to keep her company. Her twintuition is magical in itself, but when a mirror allows her to see her twin in the “reflection” she believe it is a little more than twin bonding. Perhaps the rumors that her mother had powers is true after all. In the afterlife, could Mary’s mom be protecting Mary & Michael?

I just finished reading Circles within circles by Cori Vidae.

We meet Mary and Michael - twins that are apart from each other.
Mary is taking care of their farm while Michael is on a Battlefield.

One night Mary discovers a magical connection to her brother but the joy quickly turns into fear when Michael tells her of impending doom.

Mary will stop at nothing to save her beloved twin, so she sets out to learn as much as she can about this part of her life that was always hidden from her.

She summons the Incubus Cairn, believing the spell will help save her brother.

But will it? Can she trust this magical creature with her brothers life?

I loved this book!

Mary is a wonderful character and the author gives you the chance to follow her thought process, which I always love! You get to know the characters better like that.

Cairn’s character is super steamy and he surprises you throughout the book.

The one and only complaint that I have of this book, is that it was too short!
I knew before I read it that it was a short story but I would have loved to read more about these people.
Don’t get me wrong! There is nothing missing from this storyline. It’s good and solid, steamy and hopeful and just overall delightful!

Cori Vidae - you get 5 stars from me!

Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae is a very short story that packs a punch. It has a feel of a teaser for a longer story to come but holds up well on its own. My only problem with it was it's length. I wanted more, to see how things played out with the three characters. I haven't read many stories involving an incubus before this one and if this is any indication, I want to read so many more. This, I thought, showed the complexity of the never ending battle between good and evil in a completely original way. I found this to be a really good quick book and I encourage you to pick it up. It's not like it takes a long time to read.

I gave this four stars though I have the feeling that it would have been five if full length. I loved the connection between siblings that is unbroken even though they are so far apart. I'm not sure if that is a twin thing or just siblings but it was sweet. If you are looking for something to fill an hour or so of your time, then treat yourself to this book, I doubt you will be disappointed and if probably like me, you will discover a great new author. I for one have my eye out for this vixen.

I give this short story, Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae five stars.
It’s not often you find a short story with this kind of depth. I really enjoyed it. Mary is a young woman on her own at the turn of the century. She has lost almost everything except the gift her mother left her. Desperate to save her brother from the fate she sees for him, she tries to use her gift. The result is a heartwarming story of love, passion and learning not only to think outside of the box, but also learning to love outside the box.
Cori Vidae writes her characters with richness and depth. It is easy to lose yourself in her world. Her descriptions are full of life. I got into the story easily and stayed engaged with her characters willingly. I look forward to more by this author and would happily recommend this short story to anyone looking for a quick, feel good, paranormal romance read. Again, Kudos and five stars to Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae.

Circles within Circles

Wow not sure where to start with this one. It was a very good read enjoyed it so much that when I finished I went looking for more.

Mary who is the many character in this book has been left on the family farm to care for it while her brother is off at war. Mary is longing to see her brother and know he is all right, she looks in the mirror and Michael her brother is doing the same thing with his mirror and something magical happens they can see each other and talk.

There are rumors that their mother was a witch. In saying this Mary has stumbled upon a trap door on the floor of her mother’s room. The next time Mary and Michael talk he tells her something dose not feel right something bad is going to happen. On discovering this she heads down to the room underneath her mothers room to look for anything to help her brother.

But what Mary gets will surprise all even herself. Now I’m not going to give to much more away but you must read this to find out what it is she has conjured up down there and will it help protect her brother and at what cost to herself.

I cant wait for more of this story it cant just end like that.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae is an erotica romance book. I loved reading this story. It has a little mystery and romance built right in. It is about Mary who lives on an isolated farm and how she discovers things about her mother’s past. Mary is an independent woman as she lives on a farm by herself as her brother has gone to fight in WWI. One day something happens and she is connected to her brother through a mirror. This leads to Mary starting to believe the stories about her mother being a witch. It also finds Mary trying to find a way to help her brother as he has a feeling that something bad is going to happen. What will Mary discover at the farmhouse and will she be able to help her brother?

Cairn is an incubus that has been awakened after a long period of time. He is unsure of how much time has passed and finds himself standing in front of a beautiful woman. She didn’t mean to summon him, but maybe he can help her for a price. The one thing I really loved about this book was the characters. Mary is such a loving sister who would do anything for her brother. There is such an air of mystery surrounding Cairn. Once I finished reading I found myself wanting to know more about both of them. This is the first book I have read by the author and I am sure to read more of her work. She weaves a story that you don’t want to put down. This story does include adult situations and would be for those 18 years of age or older.

Mary has a strong connection with her twin brother, Michael. He is fighting a war. Mary is extremely. concerned about his safety. Mary will do anything to keep him safe. She never believed the rumors about her mother being a witch, but she finds evidence that her mother may be a witch. She will try anything to help her brother. Mary summons Carin, an incubus. He is willing to help keep Michael safe, but wants something in return.

This was a steamy little story. The interactions between Mary and Carin were fiery. I really liked Mary. She loves her brother and tries to help him any way she can. I really thought that the ending was great. I liked that it was short, sweet, and steamy. This story had likable characters and captured my attention quickly. I do wish that there were more pages in the book. I would recommend this story if you are looking for a quick and hot read.

Five stars...more if they allowed it.
This book is a steamy account of a woman's desperate quest to save her twin brother who is thousands of miles away. A gift with a mysterious secret opens the door to a world that she never knew existed. After her parents deaths, there were rumors that her mother had been a witch. The family had never spoke of it. What she discovers astounds her.
Taking a huge step into the unknown, she summons help the only way that she could. That is how she meets Cairn.
Circles Within Circles by Cori Vidae is an exciting story of love and desperation. Mary is desperate to save her brother, Michael. Cairn is determined to do what he can to help. His need to help Mary is only downplayed by his intense sexual desire to take her and do as he wishes.
This book combines two of my favorite novel components… witchcraft and steamy sex. There is mystery and suspense. There is loyalty between The twins as Mary struggles inside to make the choice to do what she must to save Michael. I really enjoyed the descriptive elements in her writing as she painted a picture that allowed me to see the magic unfold. Cairn is a magnificent being that only adds to Mary’s confusion and frustration. I could feel her nervousness as she attempts new skills and considers new unnerving choices.
This is a must read by anyone who is interested in mystical tales and witchcraft.
