Now, all she wants is for her life to return to normal. She’s determined to focus on her regular customers and is enjoying the familiar routine of restaurant and bar mystery shopping when Abetha Mimbo shows up at her office and insists that someone is planning to kill her son.

Award winning author, Nancy Skopin, is a native of California who currently lives on the Oregon coast with her husband, Max Ferry, and their dog, Turq. An avid student of human nature, Nancy is happiest spending her days imagining the best, and the worst, that we are capable of, and translating those ideas into her Nikki Hunter mystery novels.
As does her central character, Nikki, Nancy lived aboard a yacht in the San
Francisco Bay Area for thirteen years, though she has recently settled on solid ground.
While researching her quirky serial killer mystery series she worked for two years with a private investigator, learning the intricacies of the business and, specifically, the art of bar and restaurant “mystery shopping.”

I was glad that Nina was back, but the actual plot of this book was a poor excuse for ending the Nina story. I think the author should have just added the Nina content to the previous book and kept it at that. It felt that nothing else was happening except some very LONG scenes evaluating bars and restaurants while waiting for Nina to do something. This was a disappointing read.

Nina's clears the list!

Awesome. This is the carry-on regarding Nina's take down of the names on the list. Although I know the ending had to be something like this, it still felt sad.
When a distraught mother asks her to save her son from an unknown threat, she gets an uneasy feeling and passes the job to her friend Jim. It's only when an old school friend manages to hack and get a copy of the list that Nina is following that she understands why. He is one of the three names still alive. Warning her friend she carries on with her normal jobs. Until the son tries to end her life. Will she survive? How will the mother take the news if he doesn't get the results he wants. Throw in a rescued 4 year old girl and an explosion for an explosive read. Will she and Nina ever meet again?

Murder Alfresco: Nikki Hunter Mystery, Book #7
by Nancy Skopin

I can't say enough good things about this series. Skopin is an expert story teller, whose novels are full of characters you love and characters you hate and a character or two you may not love or hate, but are certainly sympathetic about. There is lots of action, a good amount of humor, pathos and joy, romance and danger, and a clear and heart-stopping mystery. Each ends leading to the next, but without being a cliffhanger. The plotting and pacing are top-notch, the proofing and editing stellar.

In this episode, Nina Jezek is back, and once again Nikki places herself in the center of it all without really meaning to. Have we seen the last of Nina, or will she once again escape certain death to continue reeking her revenge on the pedophiles of the world?

As usual , a great read. Ms. Skopin never disappoints. Her characters come alive in the reading, the action moves quickly, continuously and tantalizingly. Love Nina and am sure that this is not the last we hear of her. I have book #8, sitting here waiting for me and I am just trying to clear my schedule so I can read it uninterrupted.
Have recently checked and find that I seem to have missed books 1 and 2. I must rectify that, as I really want to read about the beginning of Nikki's career and what motivation she had for choosing the path she did.
In all, I must give my heartiest recommendation to anyone's whose genre is mystery. I promise you won't be disappointed, rather you will most likely become addicted. I know I am.

Nikki, is with a client, with the vivid details, we can image this woman, the reason, someone is out to kill her son. Based solely on the fact he seemed nervous and looking out the window, and seeing a woman with crazy eyes.
Son needs a body guard, the hand shake with her, spelled danger. Nikki is busy 24/7 with observing differently employees, she is in love with Bill.
People get killed, employees are fired, she is keeping a big secret from Bill.
Her friends are many and loyal. The plot has many jobs that Nikki does, they are never dull. Always enjoy her books.

Good mystery

Nikki is a strong capable PI who uses any and all resources available to her when needed. When she has questions about the veracity of the story a would be client us telling her she doesn't take the case but passes it on to another PI. This story helps to finish the story started in book 4. My biggest problem is her lying to her partner Bill. Even though Bull is a police detective and has to follow the rules they made a pact that she would not lie to him. She breaks the pact very quickly.

Another great story! Nikki gets more than she bargains for. So does the reader. It's one surprise after another. A sharp-eyed reader will figure out where this story is heading. Ms. Skopin plants clues as well as red herrings. Bill and Buddy add so much to Nikki's life. So does her friend Jim, another PI. I like how they work together. Nikki does well to listen to her instincts. I thought the 6th book in the series was scary. This beats it.

Nikki Hunter

Great story about a Private Investigator and a serial killer. When Nikki gets involved with a very iffy case and declines it and offers the case to a good friend who has an investigation company all kinds of danger appears. She gets involved anyway with a very dangerous killer, the FBI, and a really unbalanced mother. She needs to protect her investigator friend and herself. Interesting!

Fantastic female P. I. series!

Well written and cleverly plotted story, strong characters and very entertaining. The descriptions were so realistic that I could almost taste the food and drinks, and the scenic descriptions could transport the reader to the locations in the story. Well done!

Dogs Rule

Too short! I would have enjoyed more. A fast-paced and interesting tale of revenge murders. Nikki is an intrepid detective who works diligently to solve her clients' problems. Must read other books in this series.

This series is awesome, & this seventh addition does not disappoint! You get suspense, romance, & a great story line. Love that Nikki lives on a boat & is an honest to goodness P.I. that uses her brains to solve her cases. It certainly captured my attention from beginning to end!

Trouble Finds Her

Nikki gets a client whose son is being threatened. She wants Nikki as a sort of bodyguard to look after him secretly. Although the woman is the mother, she is not exactly what she seems. The story takes a turn. Very good writing and the story flows.

Nikki is after a murderer

The problem of the serial killer of pedophiles continues. Nikki is threatened by the mother of one of the bad guys. There is a satisfactory conclusion. The final two chapters sound like a wrap-up of the series - but the series continues.

Not patient

Keeping secrets isn't good for a relationship but it seems to get the job done in catching bad guys. Love the twists and turns in this story.
