My First Book of Vietnamese Words is a beautifully illustrated book that introduces Vietnamese language and culture to young children through everyday words.

This Vietnamese children's book teaches in a playful way--combining the familiar ABC rhyming structure with vivid illustrations to encourage young children's natural language learning abilities. Words kids use every day in English are joined by words unique to Vietnamese culture to give kids a glimpse of Vietnamese life and to show how, despite cultural differences, children all over the world have a lot in common.

Linguistic and cultural notes are added to enhance the kids' adventure in a land that's modern yet filled with beautiful traditions.

Bought this book for my soon-to-be godchild. It's a very nice book for children, but probably would be better suited for children whose parents (both or one) speak the language for correct pronunciations.

This book is published by Tuttle Publishing and so far each book of theirs I have read is always both beautifully written and illustrated. Finding easy bilingual books at an introductory level isn't as easy as it sounds. While there are a lot of resources aimed for older students or adults the youngest of children is often overlooked - but not here.

This would be a lovely present for any young child aged from about 2 onwards - earlier if one or both parents speak Vietnamese and are raising their children as bilingual with English. I really love that they have n't just picked random words and drawn a picture.
