I love "Girlfriend" books, I really do, so I was very excited about receiving this one. On the surface it had a lot of promise: a very professional cover, and an interesting blurb. Kendal, who's been Looking For Love (aren't we all???) is secretly in love with her best friend's ex. Ouch. Jazel's current candidate hit on HER best friend first. Sloppy Seconds anyone? Sandra's engaged to the Man Of Her Dreams. Too bad he already has a wife. And Miracle? Well she had the Ideal Life, complete with Ideal Husband...until she discovers him on the phone with:
You Guessed It--Another Woman.

I wanted to give Love Just Ain't For Me a higher rating, and not just because she used the word "ain't" in her title (I'm so funny...). All "Girlfriend" books are formulaic, which isn't a problem for me. It's not the Formula that's the problem, it's what a writer chooses to do with it. Despite SERIOUS editing issues that had me wanting to Pull Out My Hair at times, there was a good story here. I rooted for Kendal, I cried for Miracle, I wanted to bust Sandra upside her head. And what exactly WAS Jazel thinking??? But yes: I kept reading, which anyone who knows me can tell you is a Miracle in itself. I am Not That Chick who tolerates Poor Editing well. Blame it on my OCD. But that is a testament to Ms Renee's writing. My prayer is that she finds a better editor in the future, so that her stories can truly shine.

P. Renee has inked detailed chronicles of love drama. While reading this book, I often asked myself 'Is this real or fiction?' She masterfully crafted the lives of four women that would even rival Sex in the City. Life isn't all about shoes and sex-capades, it is messing and full of choices and consequenses to those choices, which P. Renee detailed perfectly.

For anyone who has been in love... this book is just the therapy you need to know that you are not alone.

I love this book. This is my first work and I am excited about writing more. People often ask or try to guess if one of the characters is a reference to myself. The answer is simpler than that. I am a part of all of these women, and so are you. These ladies go through the trials of love and life just as we all do or have done. "Girl...Love Just Ain't For Me" is just an introduction to the lives of Kendal, Miracle, Jade and Sandra... There's much more to come.

Oh and about the 5 stars... Read the book and YOU let me know :)
