This was an excellent cookbook! It had everything I want in a cookbook! Recipes that promise to be quick, that don't have any exotic ingredients, with simple and short instructions, and full-color pictures of each and every dish.

Most cookbooks break up recipes into "breakfast, lunch, dinner" or "vegetables, chicken, beef, dessert" but this one breaks it up into real life categories, like "picky eaters" and "use your pantry." (No fear: there's still a "dessert" category.)

Every recipe gives a time estimate of either 10, 20, or 30 minutes. Then at the end there's an index where you can look up recipes by time to prepare.

I'm going to try:
*The Ultimate Grilled Cheese: WONDERFUL! Tried it with horseradish cheddar from the deli. I'm now forever converted to using mayo instead of butter on my grilled cheeses!
*Quick Buttermilk Biscuits: Meh. Not terrible, but the recipe called for wheat flour, so the biscuits came out pretty dense. A nod in their favor: the recipe makes quite a few biscuits, and there's a note included to tell you how to freeze them.

Southern Living's "Quick-Fix Dinners: 100+ Simple Recipes Ready in 10, 20 or 30 Minutes" is a beautiful cookbook filled with large full page full color photos of each recipe and quick easy directions on how to prep a vast array of meals in 10-30 minutes. The recipes are divided into categories such as comfort food classics, quick go to meals from pantry staples and convenience foods, fancier foods fit for company and desserts. Some of the dishes are slow cooker favorites (pulled pork) others are quick stove top meals, but all are done with a minimum of ingredients and quick to pull together. This cookbook is perfect for beginning cooks, people on the go, people with busy work schedules, as well as traditional cooks looking to spend a little less time in the kitchen.
I have already used five recipes from this book and look forward to trying many more.

I always appreciate cookbooks that have a picture for every recipe. The one thing I was not a fan of in this book is when a 10 minute recipe that had pasta in it did not include the time it takes to boil water (which would about double the time). I know these are "guidelines" for the time amount but I dunno, I just find it irritating. Most of the recipes looked delicious but nothing really jumped out at me that I'd like to make.

Beautiful pictures, easy recipes. Instructions are very easy to understand. I can tell i'll be using this cook book a lot. Well Done. I really like that it is obvious how long it should take you to cook each recipe.

I love cooking and feel that most cooking books bring the same things over and over. This one brings new ideas, simple meals, uses things on hands, I love it! I am doing my first recipe tonight, yum!
Thank you Goodreads for the book!
