I've read two other stories in this series in anthologies. I finally got a chance to read the novelette that started it all. It's definitely more science fiction than mystery. The world building dealing with this future society, its' attitudes toward AIs and how Chevonne feels about sentient AIs are central to the story. The mystery deals with issues of family and AI sense of identity.

I loved seeing how Chevonne's relationship with Sherlock began and why she's so protective toward this AI.
