Main Street by Dianna Wilkes, which is the first installment in the Providence Island Series, is a solid romantic mystery. This story follows the life of Dana Canfield, a widowed designer, who is on a quest to rebuild her shattered life and excel in a new venture heading a project to renovate Main Street in Providence Island and escape her past. There is also the extra tidbit of the mysterious disappearance of her son. Where is he? Why has he disappeared? Why did he not return home even for his ...more

Really a great read once I got started. The first few pages were a little hard to follow as so many characters are introduced through conversation that I had to reread the first paragraphs a few times. Sticking with it was worth it, once Dana moves to PI (Providence Island) the story really picks up. Then we meet Nick Warden. I was completely smitten right then. As soon as I had a main couple to root for, the story takes off. Not to mention the hero saves the day right there on day one of their ...more

Slow start but then midway races to the finish leaving the reader breathless. I liked the two Main characters who grabbed my attention early in the book and retained it throughout. It is a surprise ending and I look forward to the second book in the series to finally find out “who done it”. The first pages were spent trying to organise the many characters into the flow of the story, but once that was done it raced along. Sent to me by Voracious Readers Only.

OH MY GOODNESS!! There were so many things that I didn't see coming. I now have to get the second book to find out a few things. Really enjoyed it!! Dana has been through so much and just when she thinks her life is getting on track, a new revelation comes along. Also a new love. Someone is killing people around Dana. Is she the target? Nick just wants to keep her safe. Can he?

Dianna Wilkes has done a fantastic job with her debut. I enjoyed reading about Dana Canfield and Nick Warden and their instant attraction as Dana is driving down the road in her BMW Z4 convertible. Dana has come to Providence Island to work on the Main Street project with Rhys McCall. This book is the perfect blend of romance and suspense. It will keep you turning the pages until the end and then wondering when the next book will be finished to learn more about the characters you have fallen for ...more
